True to her word, where the village center stands, flames erupted high into the night sky. Without a second thought, Dorian ran to the living room of the small cottage, pulling his father's sword off the mantle. strapping his father's old leather armor on underneath his clothes, he sprints off into the night and towards the raging inferno, telling his sister to stay in the hidden tunnels under the house.
The situation was worse then Dorian previously thought as mangled and bloodied bodies of the townspeople littered the street. People he had spoken to just yesterday were now lying dead. His mind flashed back to that fateful night three years ago. Flashes of bloody corpses fill his mind, the pained screems echoing through the night. The vision of his parents murdered before him clouded his mind. The helplessness he felt as all he could do is watch it all happen from a little hiding hole his father put him and his sister in. The pain he and his sister suppressed as the struggled to stay silent and avoid detection.
On the outside these thoughts paralyzed him, but that paralysis ended abruptly with the bloodcurdling screech that plauged his mind since that day. Standing in front of him, standing in the firelight was a Horned Devil. A shocktrooper of the demon king, these monstrosities killed without remourse and certainly without mercy. With shaking hands Dorian draws his father's sword ...but curiously enough they stop shaking as a feeling greater then fear takes hold of his mind... pure rage.
With a yell, Dorian charges toward the devil with an intent to kill set in his eyes. He dodges a clumsy clawed attack from the demon before pirouetting on his front foot and delivering a fast horizontal slash that severs the arm of the demon. Black blood flows over Dorian as the devil recoils in pain. Dorian, however, is not fazed as he follows up with a strong thrust that creates a gaping hole in the devil. Finishing it off with a decapitation, he runs farther into the frey cutting down devils as he goes.
After killing three or four of these monstrosities, he spots Mica working his way into town, silvered blade flashing in the firelight. Dorian rushes over, taking one down by surprise before comboing the second with Mica.
"Dorian thank the gods your ok. Where is your sister?"
"Safe in the tunnels I came to help out but I'm afraid we are too late."
With a solem nod, Mica states," We must flee let us go get your sister." With a stiff nod Dorian heads back towards the house, grabbing Alice and telling her to pack a light bag before securing a small traveling pack of his own. She is dumbstruck to see her brother covered in blood. But soon the trio all have packed bags as they head towards the Silverhenge Mountains that border the town to the east. If they can cross that, they can reach Crystal City, a vast and prosperous mining and trade town on the Serphin River.
With that the Alladore siblings and there old family friend Mica traverse into the forest at the foot of Mountains, there current life and all the people they knew fading into the distance along with the the seemingly burning sky.
