Chapter 4 - A Forest Friend (1)

Waking up I found myself next to Merlin who seemed deeply concerned. Looking around I was in a caravan next to the rest of the Crimson Knights who seemed deflated and defeated their eyes full of shame at the fact they couldn't even help at stopping the monstrosity that was Escanor.

"Sooooooooo... How'd thing end up after I got knocked out?" I asked Merlin who seemed to have dark circles around his eyes before snapping awake at my question.

"We'll things turned alright beside Etrigan being completely slaughtered. It was quite... The predicament," He replied softly his tone that of a dying man just what did he do?

"Are you okay why do you look so dried up?" I asked earning him a chuckle.

"You've been out for three days I haven't slept in those three days I couldn't sleep knowing you were unconscious," He replied solemnly which earned me a puff.

"Come you dummy head you got to sleep for christ sakes. Can't have my best friend dying on me can I?" I replied cheerfully.

"Yeah, best friend," He muttered before collapsing and falling asleep.

"Thank you, Merlin, I couldn't have done it without you," I muttered softly before kissing him softly. The other knights who saw her kiss him turned away immediately looking as if they didn't see anything.

"Let's keep this between us okay else training starts at Dawn," I smiled wholeheartedly before allowing Merlin to lay in my lap.

"I can't love you right now even if it pains me. My sister is too dangerous to be kept around for me to love you right now. Although my heart aches when this is all over I'll finally give myself to you," I muttered as I stroked his hair.

Waiting in the cart we finally made it to Nottinghamshire where we would stop for a break before going off to the kingdom Camelot. Making ourselves to an in we were greeted to the innkeeper who gladly let us stay there for free. His smile was almost too happy as if forced. Something was fishy about this town time would tell.

Waking up I found myself next to a blond man gazing across the forest before staring towards me. He was extremely muscular as if he was the embodiment of strength. Similar to titans though more brutish and Elegant?

"So you're awake," He smiled before chucking me some berries.

"Uhm what are you, are you a giant?" I asked he seemed to be a giant of some sort our people were great friends with those people.

"No, I am 100% human," He replied unbothered causing me to scurry back to a tree scared. What was he going to do with me? Was he going to be like that one guy the elders spoke of? Was he going to steal my soul? I didn't want to be slave please Gia save me.

"Why are you so scared? I understand my mere presence alone shocks you." He replied earning me a frown. Just how prideful were humans?

"I am Escanor, the sin of pride! Master of the void!" He replied his back now straight as he posed pridefully in front of me.

"Well, I'm Leafy and I'm here to pick up berries. I hope my mothers Okey she must be worried," I replied to him still in my thoughts. My fear now subsided to anxiety. Is my mother okay? Will she miss me? Will anyone miss me?

"I found you collapsed on the floor I decided to wait the night until you woke up. As you can see my mere presence scares most people. I am also... Lost." He replied which shocked me. So he waited the night for me. He's a human but he was kind enough to look after me? That was strange... no, he must be trying to trap me or something.

"Are you lost as well? As you can see I am the pinnacle of strength I can help guide you home." He asked to me kindly reaching his hands out for a handshake. Looking at it, I hesitated. Oh, well who cares. My life was already bad it can't get any worse. (AN: Careful of what you say little one)

"Let this be the start of a beautiful companionship," He smiles gleefully. Maybe my life wasn't going to get worse. Though for some reason it was getting really hot.

Suddenly he pulled out a giant Axe frightening me sending me on my arse as I looked at his weapon. Although frightening was extremely majestic the aura it gave off was divine. The giant axe golden in colour had a spiked guard connected to the pommel. it was one hell of a weapon.

"Why'd you pull that out are trying to kill me?" I stuttered why did he pull it out?

"Do not fear Comrade I pulled this out to protect you. Do you not feel the extreme my heavenly body emits?" He cautioned me. Feeling the heat subside I understood the giant axe was absorbing the heat surrounding him. Nodding I gestured him to follow me. I was going home.

"Why were collapsed on the ground anyway?" He questioned.

"Well, I was going to go get some berries when a noble took it away from. Some reason this monster stopped my magic casting and I was forced to run away. Tripping when I did I alerted some wolves who forced me up a tree. The Monster found me and I got scared and collapsed," I replied

"So I was wondering how do you understand me?" He asked me.

"Don't you know of elves?" I asked him earning me a raised eyebrow from him who seemed confused.

"Well we elves are blessed with the all tongue allowing us to understand and communicate to all creature that originated from the gates of Eden," He replied to me.

"So are elves blessed from those of the gods of biblical decent," He quired.

"Not really we were just blessed by Gaia who is the god of all flora she was one of the many creatures in the garden of Eden before the humans Adam and Eve were banished from it," I replied to him.

"You saying that all humans originated from those two humans?" He asked me.

"Nope, they were just the first. The other humans you know of today are weaker but smarter they were evolved from the death of those two humans who ended up sacrificing themselves to allow for their race to evolve and adapt. They did this by using some sort of magic to tear their body to parts of some sort and scatter around the world before they slowly evolved back to humans. The process was said to take millions of years," I replied to him.

"But as you know they grew too smart for their own good. They started to experiment and although it gave them the power to do things such as magic they abused it. Five hundred years ago a war broke out between Elf and man. We truly hate humans to our core." I replied solemnly at the war of the Elven Slaughter.

"What happened?" He asked.

"Well humanity was greedy for power it was enviable we would clash. We had power as our magic was naturally astronomical but while we had strength in power they had strength in numbers. Elves reproduction is extremely slow as well as our aging while humans had short lives but were easier to reproduce. Their short lives made them active willing to change, adapt and learn. Their short lives naturally made them strive for strength and knowledge. While our long lives allowed us to stagnate. When war came around we were overwhelmed with the many Wizards and knights that charged at us. With each death people that we knew died. Bonds that were natured for tens of years shattered in minutes. Everyone knew each other. A traitor amongst our midst had also given them access to our archives. They were using our spells against us. They were brutal. The ones that were lucky survive were degraded to house-elves. The rest that stayed home were hidden away from the eyes of everyone," I stated before slapping myself I had just given him important information. What the hell was up with my rambling.

"I see. It is quite unpleasant to hear that. Although humans can be evil they can also be good," He added.

"Maybe... But I've never seen a good human beside you though that's up for debate," I muttered to myself. Reaching towards the gate we stopped. It was a large tree although it wasn't extremely it was the gate to our secret world and was letting a human in. Please god, don't make me regret this. (An: I'll think about it)
