A week had gone by since they first came to Yuanjing. Ying Yue would past her time strolling through the small market and exploring the small market. Unlike other countries that she had visited, Yuanjing was a pitiful one. Unlike other human countries, the people in Yuanjing worshipped the dragon kingdom and the dragon emperor. Ying Yue continues to stroll down town with Su Ru keeping her company. After being out and about for an hour, Ying Yue decides she's seen enough and heads back to the doctor's residence.
Along the way she sees Duan Da looking for her hysterically.
"What's wrong Duan Da?"
"Ying Yue! It's dangerous, if you're going to take a stroll into town at least ask one of the men to accompany you."
"It's fine.... everyone is too cautious because of the war. No one even approached us. Hey Duan Da, do you think we can do something for these people?"
"What do you mean?"
"I mean.... look at all the starving people? I see children without parents because of the war and I see people living in broken homes."
"Your highness....it will be hard to help this country recover so long as there is no king."
"So....we just need to find someone worthy of being king?"
"I don't think it's that simple. Not to mention the last king abandoned them and so it will be hard to win their trust."
"Hmmm...can we at least do something about the starving children? I used to visit an orphanage when I was in my world.... seeing these starving kids remind me of them."
"If that is what you wish, I will talk to the doctor and see what we can do. But for now, please remain in the doctor's residence."
"I will.... I will.... don't worry."
Once Duan Da was out of sight, Ying Yue and Su Ru headed back towards the doctor's residence. Outside the gate, Ying Yue could see a small crowd of people gathering around Ping as she tried to calm the situation. Ying Yue and Su Ru quickly walks towards Ping and asks her what was going on.
"What's going on Ping?"
"Ah...there's been an accident at the bridge. Apparently, a portion of the bridge collapsed and injured some people. I'm heading out there right now to check on the situation. Please remain inside while I am gone."
Ping quickly dispersed the group of people and ran towards the bridge's direction. Ying Yue was at a loss of what to do. At this rate the bridge would never be completed on time before she gave birth.
"This isn't good.... sigh now what?"
"My lady, what are you going to do?"
As Ying Yue pondered on what to do, an Idea finally clicked in her head. Quickly turning around, Ying Yue pulls Su Ru to an empty room.
"Su Ru, what do you know of the dragon people?"
"Uh....my lady, I only know they are blessed by the heavens."
"Is there like anything special that happens when one is born?"
"Hmm....I don't know. It's not something that was taught in Xinjing."
Ying Yue decided she needed to talk to Duan Da and Ping once they returned. Being impatient, Ying Yue walks outside and waits outside the main gate. After standing around and pacing back and forth for thirty minutes. Ying Yue could see Duan Da returning with the other men.
"Duan Da!"
"Ying Yue? Is something wrong?"
"Can i speak to you in private?"
Unsure to what Ying Yue wanted, Duan Da follows Ying Yue into the small room followed by Su Ru.
"Duan Da, is there a possibility for bringing life back to this kingdom if I give birth here?"
"Wait, Su Ru is here. You sure it's okay to talk about this?"
"Oh, she already knows who I am."
"I mean.... a child from the royal family of the dragon clan will be blessed by the heavens. I can't remember if I ever read a scroll talking about events that occurred during the birth of a royal dragon baby."
"It's a possibility though, right?"
"Anything is possible, really. I think we should ask Ping when she is back. She did used to serve the temple. She may have more knowledge about this than me."
Although disappointed, Ying Yue decided she was going to have to wait. Once lunch was served and everyone returned, Ying Yue silently ate as she couldn't stop thinking about all the possibility and miracles her child could do.
Once Ping was finished eating, Ying Yue followed her and motioned for Duan Da and the doctor to also follow her to the small study room filled with scrolls. Once the doors were closed, Ying Yue seats herself on a chair and looks at Ping.
"Ping, what do you know about the births of a dragon child of royal blood?"
"Hmmm...I did read in a scroll once, that the sky will go red and the heavens will sing when a child of royal blood is born. When a dragon child of royal blood is born, it brings wealth, prosperity and life to the land."
"So, if I give birth here will it help Yuanjing and its people?"
"Your highness, it's an old saying. It's been more than five hundred years since the last dragon of royal blood was born. There was not much information on it as it's been lost over time."
"I just wanted to see if there was something I can do for this kingdom. The dragon kingdom is well off as it is. Its places like this that makes me worry for the future. If having my child here can give them some sort of hope then I will wait until my child is born to leave Yuanjing."
"Are you certain, your highness?"
"After spending a week here I've come to realize how fortunate we were. I want to give these people some hope. Ping, when the time comes. Will you help me?"
"Of course! It will be my honor to help you, your highness."
Ying Yue dismisses everyone after making up her mind. Only Duan Da, Su Ru and Ying Yue were left in the room. Duan Da couldn't understand why Ying Yue was going out of her way to help people she was most likely never going to see again.
"Ying Yue, are you sure you want to have your child here?"
"It's not like we have much of choice. The bridge isn't fixed yet and there's a high chance I will give birth along the way to the dragon kingdom. So, I might as well wait here until I give birth."
"What made you think giving birth here was going to help Yuanjing?"
"I mean.... everyone knows that the dragon clan is blessed by the heavens. Wherever they reside, lands, crops, and food are always bountiful."
"If that is what you want, I will let everyone know. You still don't want to tell everyone you're the dragon empress?"
"Not yet....I find that some of them will find it hard to believe. So, I will wait."
"As you wish."
Duan Da heads out to inform every one of the plans to wait until Ying Yue gives birth. Su Ru walks over to Ying Yue and helps her up.
"My lady, will you be alright?"
"What do you mean?"
"I mean.... the dragon kingdom has far better medicine and healing than here. Maybe giving birth would be easier in the dragon kingdom then here."
"That's true, but this is a risk I'm willing to take. Enough chit chat Su Ru, let's head to the bath and join the others."
