Victor finally found out that he (Viktor) is born on the 21st of April 1976.
It has now been a full year since he transmigrated into the magical world of Harry Potter. A reporter on radio inside Viktor's room spoke about mysterious happenings all around Europe.
There was a deafening silence in Krum Manor, faint sobs instead of laughter echoed inside his mother's bedroom. She's been at it for two days now, she took him in the first day and cried while carrying him. Her embrace was too tight and he had to fake a cry to make her realise it. From then on he was given to the house elves to be taken care of.
His father died as is destined by fate in the hands of a revolutionary vampire lord called Kirov Van Helsing in a mutually assured destruction (MAD). More like a rebel vampire since they lost anyway.
'Makes me feel like making things explosive. Unfortunately, no revenge plots for me, the protagonist since the culprit is already dead. My backstory is quite terrible. Someone will still have to die for father's death though.'
Viktor felt some sadness but is mostly apathetic about the death of his father whom he did not acknowledge but have learned to be familiar with. He felt no real sense of familial connection to him nor his mother, something just like a means to give him access to this world and not disturb the existing laws that governs it. Still he felt a sense of loss in his stone cold heart.
'Maybe I should tinker with my head in the future and delete these distracting thoughts.'
He refocused on studying and theorising the workings of magic after receiving the news from his faithful house elf. He reached advanced level in theoretical knowledge on almost every field of magic in existence and was confident he could pass NEWTs with little preparation.
(Without practical tests of course. His magic although growing is not capable of being able to cast advanced spells. So potions perhaps or other fields that does not require the usage of magic.)
In this one year of studying, he theorised that it is highly likely that he is born a natural in occlumency. In fact, he needn't put so much effort in the subject as it was natural instinct of his mind to create barriers and protect itself it also layered his mind with strange traps. He visited his mind and sorted out his memories then making sure that no one else but himself has access to them. He also set up many guardians and traps that will make rocks cry tears if they ever dared venture into his mind scape.
There are traps where an intruder will be trapped and tortured for a long time in his mind scape only to come out with a huge splitting headache, a trap where the victim falls into a deep sleep, a trap where they have to solve riddles, conquer games, accomplish missions and many more energy sapping traps for anyone lucky enough to stumble upon them. Some of which is eerily similar to an eye technique he once saw in an anime because it was where he drew inspiration from.
As telekinesis became his bread and butter, his mind arts grew at an alarming phase and he even began to be confident in himself to start dabbling in ligelimency. He started using criminals at first, and later, his poor old elf Golie who is actually a very willing victim for Viktor's advancement. .
With some expertise in the art of mind he brainwashed Golie into the way of killing and espionage, he created fake memories that involved many things from first aid to military combat techniques, espionage, etc and a small but terrible money making machine was born.
Viktor's loyal servant abandoned his identity as a house elf and was now considering himself a new specie his master called 'shadow elf'. This of course is the result of someone's evil plot, not really evil, but it must feel evil to someone on the receiving end.
He then began taking on the future problems involving money/galleons by making Golie rob the mafia, gangs, syndicates, drug dealers, and even the corrupt government officials. It's a win-win for everyone, the world will be cleansed while he can get the money he wants. Yes everybody happy except for the poor law breaking citizens of Bulgaria.
In the spirit of expanding his sneaky business he bought more and more house elves with the money he earned. It reached the point where house elves became so rare that it reached a very high price of 500 galleons per elf from the original 100 galleons. Viktor on the other hand didn't care for the galleons at all as it can be earned back in due time. Stealing from mortals is a very low risk and high paying line of business. If it can be classified as a form of business at all.
The new elves will then be trained and oriented by Golie until deemed worthy of becoming a 'shadow elf'. Each of these elves who is capable of many things specialises in close quarters combat, and modern warfare. Capable of using guns and other modern weapons to fight even wizards. Not being able to use magic to harm wizards and not being able to harm wizards are two very different things. A loophole that Viktor was more than willing to exploit.
Wizard vs elf with a gun, and lets just say its an assassination mission for the elf. Any transmigrator knows where to put his money in.
These elves are then sent all over the world to set up small bases and steal from rotten muggles who only prey on the weak and accomplish tasks that Viktor assigned to them which are more on investment and espionage.
In less than a year he earned 27,000,000 galleons and a whole arsenal of modern weapons. Ranging from guns to an extinction level event arc called Yamamoto.
Magic wise, there are new minor findings. Viktor learned or more appropriately confirmed that magic actually behaves like a muscle, the more it is used, the bigger its capacity becomes, also, using it repeatedly in similar fashion leads to a slight decrease in casting time and magic consumption. Perhaps this is what one may call 'mastery' but there was no mention of it in the books he's seen so far. As an old man in the body of a baby in a magical world, he wasn't in a rush with anything and took things as slowly as he can.
His daily routine alternated between reading and magic exercises through wandless and chantless casting until he can't bear to cast anymore and needed rest.
There is a minor problem caused by all that flying and it really bothered him to a great extent. He forgot to exercise his body and thus he is incapable of crawling for long periods of time. He immediately invested time into training his muscles in his daily routine.
How he wished to stand on his own with a perfect body and explore the world is something only a body enhancement obsessed geneticist is capable of putting into words.
Four years went by in a blur and it is now the early week of June 1981, he is standing in front of the Krum ancestral crypt, wearing a black gentleman suit in his hand is a bouquet of flowers and on the other is a newspaper with a headline about the martial law in Poland. 'He looks like a cute little man.' As many people mostly girls whispered to their peers while giggling in delight. While men would click their tongue feeling sorry already for the girls that would line up before him in the future.
On the ring finger of his left hand is a golden ring with a red gemstone held by the mouth of a dragon. A discerning eye will be able to see the gem containing the Krum family crest. It looked like the one which was previously worn by his father albeit smaller, it is none other than the Krum family's heir ring.
"Father, Mother, I wish you a happy next life if you ever esekai. Thank you for giving me this chance. I will be sure to live up to the name you have bestowed me."
After the passing of his father, his mother fell into depression, her health slowly declined due to neglect of food and proper nutrition, she soon became ill. Three years later, she died. She probably would have killed herself already if she had the guts to do it on her own.
'Love is strange. A man's love is often superficial and dissipates like smoke with time, women on the other hand only truly loves comfort and their children. Hehe I'm no expert, but I am not willing to be tied down.'
"Its been a year already, I'm sure your parents would have wanted you to move on and continue your family's legacy. It's far too early for you to join them, you know."
A man ruffled his hair a little and spoke with concern in his voice. It was his uncle Romanov, also his godfather and guardian. If he knew what Viktor was thinking he would have done it with a little more force than the way he did.
"I know uncle, I just wanted to wish them a good journey. Even though my memories of them are faint, they are still my parents and I can't help but miss them. I'm sorry for making you worry. How long have you been here to watch me sulk?"
Viktor crouched down and placed the flower together with the newspaper on his parent's grave before standing to face his uncle.
"Long enough to see your snot flowing. Hehehe. Its fine lad, you are the master of house Krum and you will bear heavy responsibilities for the family. Let us go, it looks like the weather is not going to get any better today too."
His uncle said after hearing the rumbling thunder from the looming dark clouds that blankets the sky, it has been this way for many days now.
