Chapter 269 - Chapter 269:[Closing In III]

[Grandora City]

"How were you guys? Are you adjusting well in this place?" Asked by Kanzaki as he looked at everyone who are in the table with him.

"We're fine... we just didn't expect that Britain would fall that easily, we thought we were strong enough to handle anything, after all our users are comparable to the America's users" replied by Joana

"We really thought that we were going to die" said by Meine

"Yeah we were so scared" added by Maya

"Yep yep" agreed by Meire

Hearing their response, Kanzaki felt conflicted once more as he doesn't know what to say to comfort everyone in this place. After all aside from the agents that came from this city, the people from other countries just literally lost their home.

As he was thinking all about this, food then came in, as multiple servers placed the ordered food on the table, before leaving once everything was handed to them. Once they left aside from the triplets that begun chowing in at the food, the others were simply out of it.

In that moment Gun-hee spoke.

"Kanzaki... can you tell me the truth, if by chance this place got attacked, but you think we stand a chance?"

"That... its hard to say, I never actually fought the enemy yet so I can't say for certain"

The moment everyone heard his words, they all somewhat felt down as they were conflicted on what to do now. If Grandora city falls, then the fate of mankind would be set in stone. Humanity would cease to exist and the only remaining kind in this world are the monsters from an unknown dimension.

They haven't even figured out how to stop the invasion of the enemy and they were already losing. But just as everyone was feeling down, Kanzaki then said something that caught everyone attention.

"Even though I said that, do you think we would lose? We haven't even fought them yet so we can't say for sure"

"But you said that we are likely to not win, the probability of it" replied by Beong-go

"Yeah the probability of it, but do you think mankind would flourish by leaning on the probability? Throughout history probability is always against mankind, but did you stop and think whether our ancestors gave up? They didn't! They always bet on that small probability that they would win... no matter if it's 10%, 5%, or 1% they always take the risk and won in the end... some sort of miracle they say"

"..."

"You may not know this but, the head quarters are preparing intensively for this battle, in fact some of the group in my team will be placed on the Frontlines.... s long as we don't give up, we will have a chance to turn things around"

The moment Kanzaki said those words, everyone of them seemed to have their mood lightened as they somewhat felt that they do have hope as long as they fight"

"Your right! As far as I know, each and everyone of here are brave people, as long as we can fight back, there is nothing impossible" said by Roland

"Thats right! So with that I hope everyone can promise me one thing" said by Kanzaki

"What is it?" Asked by Anthony

"Survive! No matter what! Fight to survive"

*********

The very next night, when the clock hit exactly 12 in the midnight, the buzzing horn of alarm rung out throughout the city, which alerted everyone and cause a small panic within the normal citizens of the city itself.

Simply put the enemy is near, about a 100km away from them, the enemy was detected the moment am unusual movement in sea managed to be sensed by one of the tracker that was placed far out into the ocean. The omens this tracker was triggered, the whole city was notified cuasing the alarm to go off.

As the users, military, and personnel were hurrying to protect the city, the rest of the government official quickly tried to evacuate everyone deep I to the shelter that is about deep underground. The moment all the normal residents are evacuated, this whole city would become a battlefield for the fate of mankind.

Alarmed by the notification, Head General Alex and Luitenant Owen quickly went to the top of the head-quarters in order to look at the enemy from afar. Using a special type of telescope, they were able to see the huge wave of monsters from afar. By the sheer size of it, such wave was the biggest they have seen in the history of the organization. It seems like the enemy truly wants to eradicate this place and most likely regard this place as the most dangerous fortress of them all.

After all such a huge number of monster can only be explained but such reason.

Upon seeing the city's forces hurrying to defend the city and its normal citizens running towards the shelter, Owen couldn't help but feel like such a scene is comparable to an end of the world scene.

"This... seeing the city like this, I don't like this feeling, it feels like the end of the world thing" said by Owen

"Well it will be the end of the world if this city falls" replied by Alex

"You know i trust you right? But no matter how much you assure me, I couldn't help but feel like we will lose" said by Owen

"Well if that's the case, then we can only hope for a miracle, there's no escape now... this is now or never situation" said by Alex

In that moment Head Chief Oliver arrived at this place, as he called out to both the Head general and the Luitenant. At the same time multiple dozens of aircraft, helicopters and carriers flew above their heada as the airforce of the city begun to move. Alongside it, the Port opened up its gate to let the navy get out to protect the city and tanks together with anti air vehicles roam the streets.

Due to the noise, Head Chief Oliver has no choice but to shout in order to call out both the Head general and Luitenant.

"Head General Alex!!! Luitenant Owen!!! Your presence are requested in the command room, various leaders are also there, waiting for your orders"

"Is that so? Then looks like it's time for war" said by Alex

"Yeah! It's time to settle our grudges"

"Let's go!"
