Chapter 26 - Losing It(1.26)

Jaxon had heard Phoenix mention a weaponry in the basement, so he headed down to the charred area, to find if there was anything that survived.

To his surprise, there was an entire room, untouched by the fire. It was filled with weapons, such as swords, daggers and other battle weapons.

He grabbed a few weapons and headed upstairs to drop them on the table for people to choose from. He could tell Swan and Spencer were excited about the weaponry, whilst Elizabeth just stuck with her scythe and Cat lifted up a whip.

Flail picked a few daggers from the pile, and put them in his pockets, while Swan picked a blade with an odd symbol on it.

Spencer picked a large battle knife for himself and smiled slightly at the blade. He then handed Jaxon a sword that had a symbol similar to the Blood Hero's.

Elijah lay starving again, obviously Malachite wasn't interested in listening to the Dragonbreath, because all Elijah had been getting to eat lately was a slice of bread.

Malachite walked in and glared down at Blue, a knife in his hands. He picked Blue up by the collar of the shirt and dragged him up to the wall.

Once there, he drove the knife into his shoulder as far as he could. Elijah screamed in pain, struggling and trying to get free, but the chains zapped him whenever he struggled, which made it worse.

Once Malachite stepped back, he had Jaguar and Silence bring him to the panic room again.

Elijah begged them to let him go the entire time, thrashing around and trying to get free, but he had been weakened too much by Malachite's torment.

They threw him in the room and slammed the door shut. He couldn't see in the room and felt sick just thinking about being in there for very long.

"We need to wait until tomorrow morning to head over." Jaxon decided. "There's no use going at night when that'll be when they're most heavily guarded."

"But what if tomorrow is too late!?" Cat clenched his firsts. "For all we know waiting until nightfall could even be too late!"

"Do you want to get caught too?" Jaxon narrowed his eyes. "Because that's what will happen."

"The dim spark's got a point." Spencer yawned. "I'd rather go when there aren't too many guards."

'Dim spark, ahahah!!' Phoenix laughed through Jaxon's thoughts. 'I should start calling you that, Darky~' Jaxon winced slightly, but got through the pain in his skull quickly.

Cat pouted as everyone went to rest for the evening, his heart sank as even Swan, who seemed to be the first person to volunteer to help him, agree with Jaxon.

He wanted to go after Blue now, but he also knew if he went alone, there would be a good chance he were caught or even killed. He wasn't exactly the most useful to Malachite, so he wouldn't be someone Malachite would be worried about killing.

Elijah rocked back and forth as the darkness around him seemed to consume him even worse than before. He could feel himself giving up, he sometimes hoped that there was something lurking in the shadows of that room, that way it could put him out of his misery.

He didn't know what time it was, how long it had been since he'd eaten last, or even when the last time someone had come to check up on him.

He lay holding his head in his hands as shadows surrounded him, he couldn't bear to there much longer, he felt like he was going insane. He couldn't sleep, but he was exhausted.

Jaxon awoke at three in the morning, he got up and made his way downstairs, his eyes still blurry from waking up so early.

Cat was asleep on the couch, hugging the Jay's cap in his arms as he slept. Jaxon walked past him, looking at younger kid and walked to the kitchen. Jaxon was worried about Cat, since he seemed so obsessive over this entire situation, it was obvious Blue was his safe person.

Jaxon sat in the kitchen drinking his coffee as everyone woke up, some made themselves breakfast while others immediately got ready for the rescue mission.

Jaxon had coffee for everyone who wanted and then got his jacket on and picked up his blade. It felt odd to him using something that once belonged to the Blood Hero.

But he had to look past who it belonged to before, because he was the successor, and he was gonna use the blade to save people.

Elijah scratched at his arms and neck, sometimes tearing the skin as he felt like bleeding was the only way out. He coughed up blood as he slammed himself into the door.

"LET ME OUT!!" He knew he was in the room longer than last time, because at some point it was very long before someone came to check on him.

He got up and slammed into the door again. He screamed at the top of his lungs as pain shot through shoulder.

He felt as if he was going insane, he thought he could see eyes staring at him from all around. He cowered in the corner and sobbed as everything started to distort itself.

Jaxon whistled for everyone to join him in the livingroom, as it was time to get going. Everyone had eaten and prepared for the rescue mission, now all they needed to do was head to the ravine.

Elizabeth lead the way through the woods as everyone headed for the ravine, she kept her hair tied up an sher hand on the bowstaff, which she kept strapped to her belt. She kept her eyes on the path ahead and had not intention of letting anyone go ahead of her.

If danger was to come, she would be the first one to take it on, as she was the strongest there and assumed the position of leadership.

She would not let anything drive them off their course.
