Was she that tired? She never snored before, YaoFeng thought to himself.
That weekend was a very busy weekend for both of them.
She was very focused on her new formulas and kept herself in her home lab. YaoFeng on the other hand is trying to squeeze his upcoming business works into a three day work so that he can spend more time with his wife.
Monday came soon and they had a very early visitor at the office.
She was holding her pen to her head, trying to figure out something on her notebook.
The man beside her is busy with his spectacles on, focused on his screen when Elder Wong came to the office. The two of them watched as elder Wong seat in front of them.
"Hello Elder Wong", she greeted.
The man smiled at her and nodded politely. She went back spacing out on her notes.
"YaoFeng, I came here just to warn you," he started. The CEO looked at the worried elder in front of them.
"The two of you should get married", he looked at the couple sitting side by side at the CEO desk.
Yuyu raised her head and looked at Elder Wong and to the man beside her.
"Don't waste time idling. If you have feelings for each other, take action. I heard that someone is planning to court Xiao Yuyu. Li Haoran had been preparing flowers for her during the past week." he said dejectedly.
Just this morning, it seems like the whole company already knew that he has feelings for Xiao Yuyu. Only the people at the top floor does not know about it.
"Don't let anyone go better than you," he reminded Ah Yao as if the CEO has offended him.
Yaofeng looked at the elder with amusement. He's treating him life his own son, his lips curved into a smile.
"She's already my wife", Ah Yao told him.
Elder Wong looked at the two of them. He wanted to doubt them but YaoFeng took her hand and interlocked their hands. A light passed on something shiny and he saw them showing off their wedding ring. After a while, he was able to get a hold of himself.
"I see. haha It's not that I am interfering with the two of you. Actually , I am very proud of your chemistry, but you also need to show people your status so that nobody else will try to take away what's yours." he told the two of them.
"Alright, don't bother. I'll take care of the rest. You just work, both of you."
Elder Wong who was very happy, knowing that the two had registered already; he started the gossip of Xiao Yuyu being married as to stop the male employees harboring feelings for her.
He has nothing much to do so he went down to the lobby and made a call to his wife where there are lot of people passing by.
"Hello, yes darling. Xiao Yuyu just got married so she cannot visit us." he said.
"Who is Xiao Yuyu?" asked his wife.
"Yeah. I don't believe it as well but she showed me their photos and wedding ring." he replied.
"What wedding ring?" his wife is so confused.
"Yes. Next time we will invite them again okay? Alright then. Bye." he was very pleased to see a lot of employees started gossiping about.
He immediately sent a message to his wife or else he will be lectured later. Honey, it's just a fake call, don't worry too much.
--
When he get back to his office, Cheng MeiMei greeted him.
"Uncle! Have you heard the news! Xiao Yuyu is married!" she was more excited than him.
Elder Wong grunted as if he's not the one who spread the news. It just took a few minutes! He was so proud of himself.
"Uncle, can I go up and wish her best. Oh I should go out first and buy something" she said leaving elder Wong in the office.
--
Afternoon, Cheng MeiMei went up and brought a cake at the top floor.
She was stopped by the secretaries because they said they no longer accept gifts.
"No, this is not a gift. I came here because I want to wish her well on her marriage!" she said in a very friendly manner.
Every one was surprised at the news but did not show their guest.
Secretary Lun pick up a phone and pressed a button.
--
inside the office.
"Yes."
"My husband is not a show off. Nobody asked me." she said eyeing her husband.
"It's okay. We accept foods." she hung up.
"Hubby, your college friend sent me a cake to wish me well on my marriage. I accepted it." She said watching if her husband would have anything to say but he just nodded and did not bother.
--
Secretary Lun passed the cake to her when Cheng MeiMei left.
She immediately prepared a slice for herself to share with her husband. Although she already knew his secret, he's been good to her and she can worry about that later when she's in the mood.
She took the box and pass it outside the door, "for sharing!" she announced, and went back to sit beside the CEO.
She took a bite of the cake and after a few seconds, she spat it out on her plate. She run to the door and shouted, "don't eat!" as she hurriedly retch at the bathroom.
YaoFeng stood up. He glared at the plate where she spat out the bite of cake and opened the door of the office to call the people outside.
He was about to talk when his wife came out pale tired from vomiting.
He walked to her and helped her sit on a chair.
"Don't eat. Poison." she looked at the people lining in front of them.
Assistant Xu passed a bottle of water and YaoFeng helped her open it. After taking a sip, she felt better.
"We will no longer accept foods as gifts. All of you as well." YaoFeng announced.
--
That evening YaoFeng was bothered.
They were at the study, he was on his computer while she's playing games on the other side.
"Yuyu, do you think Cheng MeiMei poisoned the food?" he asked.
She was currently in a game but was able to respond. "I don't think so. The food must have been intercepted. It was probably ordered and she only delivered it. Besides, she cannot give it to us if she knew, I bet no one will know. I just know it at first taste because I'm more exposed to chemicals." she said without taking off her focus on the game.
He agreed with her. Someone must be using her then to get to them? His main suspect is the Ming clan going after his wife again. But why?
Inside her head, she had another story. You just want me to take your girlfriend off the suspects? Isn't it obvious you two wanted me out of the way? She felt aggrieved and fought another battle but was not able to finish.
She slept earlier than usual as she felt very tired of thinking about her husband.
