Adiya
"Do you care?" I asked sarcastically, "no you never" I sniffed.
"If I jumped or die, it's none of your concern," I said adamantly.
"No" I heard another voice, I whipped my head to other side and saw Chidima running toward to me, panting heavily.
"Adiya, you are stronger than this girl," she said softly, looking at me with glistened eyes.
"What am I still waiting for?" I asked her as she walked slowly to me and hugged me.
"Dee, suicidal is not the solution. Suicidal does not solve anything it just added to the pain" she responded soothingly while patting my back.
"I don't wish to but I'm tired. I'm tired of struggling, tired of living" I sobbed lightly.
"Don't give up dear" she wiped the tears on my face, "You were the one always telling me that everything that's difficult in our lives is a challenge. We need to fight and reach the top". "And remember sis, everything that happens in our lives challenges that we need to conquered" she patted my hands softly.
"But.."
"No but dear," she said softly in a scolding voice. "you still have many purposes in life. And if you jumped and die, do you think you've escaped your problems, pains, struggles?" she asked gently.
I wanted to reply but she cut me off, "you don't escape anything because the pains continue to intensify because taken one's life is forbidden and it's a great sin. Then why suicidal?" her question hung in the air.
I knew but...
Why suicidal?. I asked myself.
It was even a sin to kill oneself.
"Were you not the one who does tell me when I lose hope that 'verily with every difficulty comes ease'" she quoted me while I smiled at her.
"Oh my, I've committed a great sin, oh God please forgive and pardon me" I prayed silently.
"Thank you," she told me while I looked at her dumbfounded.
Why thank you, I thought.
"For not committing suicide Dee because it would affect me" her voice waa coated with heavy emotion.
We stayed at each other embraced before Zaid made his presence known while Chidima scrunched her nose.
"You prick" she pointed an accusing finger on Zaid.
She marched to him in long stride and punched twice at his face and stomach before saying, "This is for hurting her and this is for all the pains you caused her" she sneered while I sniffed my laughter because Zaid's face looked comical.
Chidima never ceased to amaze me.
He groaned and held his stomach before stating to Chidima, "I'm sorry for all my mistakes. I promise to make it up to her" he said determinedly.
"I swear, I don't know how Becky had the pictures. Truth to God, I only told my men I wanted your background and everything about you" I gaped in shock while he looked at the floor shameful of his action.
Did he research about me?
"You rich people gan" Chidima stated disgustingly.
"I just hate rich people" she exclaimed loudly, "because you guys have the money to check the background of someone that should not give you the audacity to do it" I muttered dejectedly.
"I'm sorry, it is not my intention to hurt you, I just want to know more about you," he said remorsefully.
I continued to stare at him without replying. My brain wasn't comprehending. Then how did Becky get the pictures, I thought.
"Please reply to me" he urged me but I kept mute.
"How did she get it?" I voiced out my thought.
"She came to my house, giving me the excuse that her father invited me to an event. She must have picked it on my desk" he replied.
"OK," I said weakly.
"OK," he repeated after me.
"Go" I turned my back at him, he took a step to make me face him but Chidima glared at him.
"OK, I'll come back later," he said sadly and walked away.
I needed space but why seeing his back hurt so much.
It was his fault
But why did he went behind my back
Why
Why
Why the feeling of hopelessness?
"Let get back inside" Chidima chimed, helping me with my crutches.

3 WEEKS LATER.
Zain had been trying to win me over but I still felt guarded around him because he was a ticking bomb waiting to explode.
When his narcissistic side arrived, he would be temperant because his emotions got better of him.
After my suicidal episode, the nurse had removed all harmful objects away from my room and security guards were stationed at the door.
I knew that was the work of Zaid.
"You can't sabi watin I 'ear today*? " Chidima beamed with unfathomable happiness, her smile radiated the beauty of her soul while I smiled along with her.
"Watin you ear, let 'earam*" I replied inquisitively waiting for her response.
"Oya na*," I said impatiently while she stuck her tongue at me.
"Noooo" she grinned while I huffed in annoyance.
"Make I talk*?" she wiggled her brows while I nodded frantically.
"Your school don close. E talk says Zaid don removed Becky pale from presidio and don send am away from school, Becky don become we we*" she grinned. "Because una no dey school, school don get unexpected holiday. The principal and that teacher wey dey always yell at you don get fired. No work for dis country again*" I couldn't believe what I was hearing. I gaped at her as If she had two heads.
The president had been impeached, the school had closed down, the principal had been fired because of me.
A low person liked me.
Because of a nobody like me.
How could he do that, they had a family to cater for at home. Even though they caused me pain that did not mean I should stoop so low to them.
I was enraged.
How dare he think on my behalf.
"And I 'ear for news say dey dey campaign no more bully and harassment*," she said smiling cheekily.
But I wasn't happy about it what he had done except for the campaign stuff.
I could not wait to get back to school.
