Straight to the office, Gabriel goes. There, he talked with a man calling himself a manager. The details of the work he'll be doing are mixing the cement and helping on the other works on the site. By the end of the day, he'll clean up and get his pay for the day. After hearing the details of the work, Gabriel knew that this work will be something that will work for him. Not that he despises waiting for the 15th or 30th to receive his paycheck but in his case right now, he has to earn money on a daily basis.
"I will gladly do the job!" he instantly agrees to the terms of the work.
After being hired for the job, he headed straight for the construction site and did his duties. As an angel, he is extremely cautious not to make a mistake. Little does he know, mixing the cement will not be an easy job for him to do especially the way things are, they are doing all the job manually. Concern if he was doing it the right way, he noticed that he is sweating bullets while others haven't broken a sweat despite being there first before him. That's when he knew, construction isn't as easy as it looks.
After a day of work, he received his pay for 8,000 Yen for an 8-hour work. As he heads out, he bumped into Lucy who is peeking at the door looking for someone. As soon as Lucy sees him, she was agitated and turned red.
"Well, good work today, Lucy." He said as he waved goodbye.
Suppressing herself, Lucy did not find the courage to talk to him again. Lucy was awed by the presence of Gabriel and she wanted to invite him to an izakaya where the other workers are waiting for him to celebrate his first day of work.
Thankfully, Gabriel is not the last one to head out and someone chased him.
"Hey, Gabriel! Care to join us celebrate your first day." the guy asked him casually.
"Oh, sure!" Gabriel agreed to it quickly.
Dumbfounded, Lucy regretted that she did not muster the courage to ask him first.
"Hey, Gabriel! Would you like to have some drinks?" one of his co-workers asked him.
"No, I'm fine." he rejected the offer.
"Why? It's your party, right? Don't worry, we're the one who wanted this to happen so we'll all split the bills for it." the other asked and assured him that the expenses were not all his to pay.
Gabriel knew that liquor is a poison to man's mind so as far as he could, he wanted to avoid drinking any. But, deep inside him, he doesn't want to reject the offer since it'll be rude for others so, he must face his greatest enemy.
"Well, if you say so." He smiled and get the shot glass full of liquor.
He's sweating as he placed his lips near the shot glass. Hoping for this drinking to end quickly, he prayed.
[This is just one glass and I'm finished. Remember, Gabriel! Christ turned water to wine so drinking some liquor isn't that forbidden, right? As long as I drink it moderately. Just one glass then I'm done.]
He gulped down the liquor straight and his sight turned black.
The next morning, Gabriel sees a different ceiling faces him. He feels cold so he turned to his side while grabbing the blanket. It is too cold for him as if he has an air conditioner installed in his room.
"Wait, do I have air conditioner?!" he mumbles to himself.
He looked beside him and he can see Lucy sleeping beside him. It is just then when he realized that he's not wearing anything at all and he's in a different room. A girl's room that is.
