Chapter 18 - Chapter 18: Block your place for me

Qiao Hanye had never thought that he and He Lanjin would meet again in such an awkward situation.

But the most pressing matter as of the moment was the fact that he did not have anything on.

He felt on fire, as if ignited by her forceful seduction. He felt trapped, with nowhere to go.

"I am renting this house. Why did you break into a private house in the middle of the night? What do you want?" He Lanjin spoke first, wishing to get to the bottom of this problem.

Sitting on Qiao Hanye's lap, He Lanjin suddenly noticed that he was getting hot, like a volcano that would explode without warning. Was he sick?

Qiao Hanye could not help but laugh when he heard that He Lanjin was renting the house. He lifted his upper body from the sofa, held her by the waist and pushed her up away from his lap.

"Renting a house?" Qiao Hanye asked. "Is that what you and I are doing now?" Qiao Hanye's deep black eyes glinted as he twisted He Lanjin's words, teasing her.

He Lanjin was stunned by what Qiao Hanye said and did. She stood up and looked straight, not daring to look at him, lest she saw something she shouldn't see.

He Lanjin stared at the mirror in front of her and saw her reflection, obscuring his nakedness. She felt at a loss, her mouth dry.

"Cut the crap," snapped He Lanjin. "Why did you break into my bedroom in the middle of the night? What are you trying to do?" He Lanjin scolded Qiao Hanye as she tried to suppress the strange feeling she was starting to get.

When He Lanjin first entered the room, she did not pay much attention to it. Now with him in the room, she has realized that it was, indeed, a room simply but elegantly designed for a man. The room seemed to quietly tell her that she was the one who made a mistake, that it was really Qiao Hanye's room.

"Miss He, you're already up here. It seems obvious." Qiao Hanye seemed to be deep in thought as he looked at her back.

He Lanjin gritted her teeth. How dare him tease her! She crouched down to grab the towel on the floor and, still not looking, threw it backwards at Qiao Hanye. "At least have the decency to cover yourself up," He Lanjin huffed.

"Oh." Qiao Hanye caught the towel, got up, and fastened the towel on his waist.

He walked behind her and looked at the side of her flushed face. It was interesting.

He Lanjin suddenly remembered the tracking device she placed on Qiao Hanye's shirt. She had forgotten all about it after the drama in the He residence. If he found it, then he must suspect her of following him. But she wasn't following him! This house was rented by Qin Nan, right?

"I need to make a call," He Lanjin said as she search the floor for her phone. As soon as she found the phone, she ran to the balcony to call Qin Nan. He Lanjin was floored when Qin Nan told her that he was very drunk, and that the message He Lanjin got was sent by a girl he just picked up.

"Qin Nan, the time of your death is coming," He Lanjin coldly said before hanging up.

He Lanjin took one deep breath after another. Standing on the balcony, she looked up at Jiang City's night sky. She clutched her phone, remembering how easy it was to place a tracking device on Qiao Hanye when he saved her this morning. She did that so she could follow Qiao Hanye, sneak in on him, and take back her old phone, which contained the evidence she needed.

Now that she was inside the wolf's nest, she could not just leave.

He Lanjin had every reason to believe that she would get the missing phone back. Why else would she end up here?

"Listen well. I have paid the rent. Now, this bedroom belongs to me. I'll have to trouble Mr. Qiao and politely ask him to get out." He Lanjin decisively said as she left the balcony and returned to the room. She said it with an air of confidence, hoping that she would be allowed to stay.

Qiao Hanye seemed to be deep in thought. He looked at her, and a meaningful smile formed at the corners of his mouth.

"What are you smiling at?" He Lanjin could not help but ask; his smirk was driving her mad.

The man approached her, lowered his head, and pressed his thin lips against her ear. "We live under the same roof," Qiao Hanye whispered. "Is that considered cohabitation?"

"Cohabiting with you?" He Lanjin huffed and puffed, and there was a great discomfort in her ear. She felt her heart beat faster, as if it would burst out of her chest.

She walked past Qiao Hanye, opened the door, and said, "A man and a woman together in a room in the middle of the night... how is that proper? Get out! Now!"

"Oh? I'm sure it's inappropriate." Qiao Hanye looked straight into He Lanjin's eyes and, sure enough, walked out of the room.

Having just returned from his errand, Han Beicheng was stunned to see a man and a woman by the master's door in the middle of the night, with their clothes disheveled. What surprised him the most was that the man was Qiao Hanye. Was Jiang City a sacred place that could push a man without seven emotions and six desires to have sex?

If it were not for supernatural causes, it would really be difficult for Han Beicheng to believe that Qiao Hanye would actually touch a woman.

Han Beicheng got so distracted with these thoughts that he missed a step on the stairs and fell forward, hitting his knees on the lower steps.
