Less than half an hour after Secretary Luo left, the crisp sound of high heels came from outside the door. Qi Che closed the laptop in front of him and spoke to Du Jue. "Go out there. Tell her not to lose her head.”
Du Jue’s brow furrowed. Why was it up to him to deal with this?
“But Miss Fu is...” He faltered. What he meant was that Fu Mengyao was not easy to deal with. Because of her identity as the future young Madam however, it wasn’t good to say it out loud.
Qi Che looked helpless. “Tell her whatever you have to.”
“Okay.”
As expected, Ah Che hadn't gone to the villa. Hehe knew that he’d always been a man of his word. From her initial worry to her disappointment, she gradually accepted it. Her current plan was to settle down in her new job at the hospital as soon as possible, and then find a new place to stay.
“Hello, Doctor Xu.” The doctor who passed by greeted her warmly. Xu Hehe responded to his greeting with a polite smile, despite them not having been introduced. From the Cardiothoracic Surgery Department to the tea room, everyone here seemed to know her name.
“Doctor Xu, are you free after work?” A thin man with a handsome face blocked her way.
Hehe shook her head and laughed. This was already the seventh one today. She didn’t want to bear the name of a vixen. She had always kept a low profile. Her face was plain and her clothes were lazy. Still, nothing seemed to stop the suitors, or the comments.
“Look, the new vixen has even hooked up with Dr. Jiang.”
“Why would Dr. Jiang fall for such a person?”
“A hero can’t resist a beauty. Maybe she has some tricks up her sleeve.”
“What's the point of being a doctor when you look like that?”
“Be careful, you have to keep an eye on your Dr. Li so that he won't be seduced away!”
At the nurses’ station not far away, there were more than a dozen young and beautiful nurses gathered around. Their whispers could be heard clearly.
Hehe frowned slightly. Ever since she had come here, such rumors had been going on. She had heard whispers from time to time, but she didn’t care. This wasn’t the first time she’d been scolded in front of someone, bu it would be a lie to say that it didn’t make her angry. Because of her mother, she hated being called a vixen the most.
“Haven’t you said enough? Shut up!” Dr. Jiang shouted at the nurses angrily, eyes wide with rage. He was about to go forward and argue further, but Hehe grabbed his wrist.
“Forget it.” She shook her head.
“How can we let it go just like that? They judged us so harshly.” Dr. Jiang was very confused.
“So what?” He had already scolded them, but nothing could shut everyone's mouth.
“I'm sorry, I've implicated you.” Dr. Jiang held Hehe's small hand, and his face was full of guilt.
“Let go of your perverted hands.” A gloomy voice came from behind them. Doctor Jiang was shocked, but Hehe was indifferent. She turned around and when she saw the gloomy-looking Tang Yiyi, her face was full of smiles. It made her suddenly exude a glory that could not be looked at directly, as bright as the stars.
Tang Yiyi had been her best male best friend in university. The two of them used to talk about everything. If it hadn’t been for the relationship between him and Ah Che, she would have contacted him long ago.
Tang Yiyi revealed his signature roguish smile and kept his calculating in his heart. What should he do if she was beautiful but heartless? It was too dangerous. No wonder Ah Che couldn’t let go. If it was him, he wouldn’t let go even if he died.
Tang Yiyi went up and embraced her warmly. He glanced over at Doctor Jiang, who was still standing there looking foolish. Tang Yiyi glared. “Aren't you going to get lost?”
Hehe couldn't help but facepalm. How could she forget how shameless Tang Yiyi was? She scolded him. “Young Master Tang, this is a civilized society. Can you not be so unreasonable?”
“I'm unreasonable?” Tang Yiyi pointed at himself and almost laughed out of anger. If it was Ah Che, not only would he use his eyes to scare people, he would definitely be ruthless behind their backs. He was being fair and aboveboard.
“Your Ah Che is far less refined.”
