Chapter 296 - Chapter 295: The breakfast of hope

Mu Ziyu did not care what Shuishui was thinking right now, because he was confident that time would prove everything. Shuishui was just being realistic. She thought more about the present and was not the type who would make assumptions about the future.

Shuishui smiled and nodded. "Then buy some food so that we'll have something to eat when we get hungry at night."

"You're still worried that you'll get hungry at night? Don't worry, if you get hungry, I can go out and buy food for you." He wanted her to eat hot food. He disliked the taste of microwaved food. He also knew that reheating food in a microwave was unhealthy. "Or we can order takeout," he added.

"That's true. It's so convenient to buy food these days. We don't have to bring any food. I just don't like having to go out to order takeout at night," Shuishui said. In the hospital, people could just come and go. She thought they could spend time outside before going to the hospital. "We can watch a movie first, then we can go have dinner. After that, we can go to the hospital."

Mu Ziyu nodded and agreed. He was always there to support Shuishui.

Meanwhile, Qian Anzhi was feeling troubled. He really didn't expect that his mother would try to convince him to get out of Shuishui's house and live with them. Her filthy words made him feel very uncomfortable.

His eldest sister was worse. She kept telling Anzhi that Shuishui was a bad person. She kept talking about things that had happened between her and Shuishui in the past. She kept bringing up events from the past, and it made Anzhi uncomfortable.

He was very disappointed in his own mother for referring to Shuishui as a bastard.

Just as he was feeling bored, his mother called him. His eldest sister, meanwhile, was staring at her phone. Obviously, she wanted to go out and play. If Qian Anzhi wasn't there, she would have already gone out. She wouldn't have stayed at home either. It was too boring.

She glanced at Qian Anzhi a few times. "Then go and bring back your luggage tonight. You can stay in the room inside."

"My guardian is my father. I'll just stay with Second Sister. I know her. I don't need to move out. No matter what you say, I won't. All these years, she's always been so caring. She takes care of everything for me. Eldest Sister, you only boss me around and take money from me. Also, you still owe me money. Have you forgotten about it?" he asked. He didn't like this kind of conversation.

His mother had just received a call from someone. She walked to the side to answer the call. Anzhi wondered what made his mother so anxious.

His eldest sister also seemed restless. She was looking at her phone and looked like she wanted to leave.

"You asked me to come here, but you're just staring at your phone. We can't even have a decent meal together. Forget it. I shouldn't expect more of you." Qian Anzhi picked up his school bag and was about to go home.

Qian Momo was a little embarrassed. "I'll return the money to you later. I don't have much money on hand right now. How am I supposed to return it? Besides, Mom only gives me a few thousand yuan a month. I have to check my budget, don't I?"

"Yeah. In the future, don't come running to me to ask for money," Anzhi said coldly. He walked to the door, looked back at his elder sister, and then strode away. He felt that it was very tragic to have such a family. He hoped that things would change for the better. However, he knew that Qian Momo wouldn't change. She would always be a selfish person. It was part of who she was.

When Qian Anzhi had left, Momo quickly changed her clothes and went out.

One of her friends told her that there was a special event that night.

Having been arrested at the police station was not enough to teach her a lesson. She still believed that money made the world go round. She knew that her mother or younger brother would bail her out from prison if she was ever caught again.

When Qian Anzhi returned home, he fed the dogs and brought them out for a walk. He hadn't slept well the night before. He stayed up for a long time thinking about his mother and elder sister. He was sure that he couldn't forgive his mother for abandoning his father. Although he and his eldest sister were siblings, they had never really been close. On the contrary, they quarreled every day. He was closer to his second sister.

He had been in Beijing for more than a year. He had already gotten used to the life there and had already made some friends. He had gotten closer to his second sister because she took care of him.

Meanwhile, after Li Xue took the call, she went downstairs upon her suitor's request. She was stunned. She did not expect him to propose to her. She saw a carriage full of red roses. She covered her mouth and asked, "Brother Hao, what is this?"

"Li Xue, marry me. I want to live with you. I know you already have children. I also have children of my own. I have two daughters. Their mothers are very irresponsible. I really want to find a good mother for them," Brother Hao said as he knelt on one leg and took out a small red jewelry box. He opened the box, and Li Xue saw a gold ring inside. Brother Hao continued, "Li Xue, although we've only known each other for a few months, I like you. Are you willing to marry me? I'll definitely treat you well. After we get married, you can move to my house. I'll also prepare a room for Qian Momo. Qian Momo will be the eldest sister in the future."

"Me?" Li Xue did not expect to be proposed to. She could not reject it at all because she also desired to be loved and to have a complete family. At that moment, she thought of Qian An, who had betrayed her. She wanted to find her second daughter. Where was she? She wondered how Qian An would respond once he found out that he and Li Xue were already divorced.

She felt that she was finally getting her revenge. She nodded and said, "Brother Hao, I like you very much. If you don't mind that I've been divorced before and already have children of my own, then let's be together."

Brother Hao hugged Li Xue. His family indeed needed a woman, and he believed that Li Xue was from a wealthy family. He could tell from her clothes and her general behavior. Dignity was the most important thing to him, and he felt that Li Xue had that. His two children were open to having Li Xue as their stepmother. He also liked Li Xue because she often brought him small gifts which she had made by herself.

Li Xue was attracted to Brother Hao's gentleness, but she liked that he was a businessman. At her age, it was rare to be the object of such romantic gestures.

He put the ring on Li Xue's finger. "Do you like roses?" he asked as he got up. He moved aside, revealing the roses in the trunk.

Li Xue picked one up and sniffed it. "It smells so good. This rose . . . this cart of roses . . . I'm worried that it's going to go to waste."

"How can it be wasted? This is for you. Besides, as long as you're happy, it's all worth it. Have you eaten tonight?" he asked. He had booked a dinner reservation for them.

"No," Li Xue answered. After she answered his call, she went out. In fact, she had eaten a little. Fortunately, she hadn't eaten that much. Otherwise, it would be awkward if she wouldn't be able to eat at the restaurant.

They went on a date. She forgot about Qian Anzhi and only cared about herself.

Shuishui went home from the hospital the morning of the next day. The previous night, Shuishui let Ziyu stay at home so he could rest. The next morning, he fetched her at the hospital.

Mu Ziyu was very happy. When they returned home, Shuishui prepared breakfast for him.

Shuishui pushed Mu Ziyu to his room. "Rest early. I'll call you tomorrow."

"Okay then. I won't need to set the alarm," Ziyu said. He would only need to wait for Shuishui to wake him up. He imagined how blissful life would be if it was like that every morning.

Shuishui passed by Qian Anzhi's room and saw that the lights were on. She didn't knock on the door but only sighed. Back in her room, she took out her textbooks and did some light reading. Classes would start the following week, so it would be good to read a few chapters in advance. Most of the textbooks discussed basic principles and theories. She kept a notebook close to her to write down her notes while she read. Shuishui had a very good reading comprehension. She was knowledgeable about many of the topics, so everything was quite a breeze for her.

She noted the differences between chemistry and pharmacy. She had only read a bit about pharmacy and its basic foundations. Feeling sleepy, she washed up and lay down to sleep.

The next day, her alarm clock rang. Shuishui woke up with a yawn and then cleaned up. Her hair was very messy.

She combed and brushed her hair until it was neat and manageable. She went to wake Mu Ziyu up. By that time, Qian Anzhi had already gone to school.

Anzhi had gotten used to eating breakfast in school. Shuishui didn't have to worry about whether he ate properly every morning. She planned to let Anzhi stay in a campus dormitory once he reached third year, because Jiang Li would also be moving in to the dormitory.

Staying on campus would also be good for them because of the good learning atmosphere. She only hoped that he would continue to improve as a student.

After she woke Mu Ziyu up, she went downstairs to make breakfast. She took out the frozen dumplings and placed them in a pot of soup. Then, she added some shrimp to make the soup delicious. Then, she added the udon noodles. Soon, breakfast was ready.

The soup was not bad. She tried it in advance. Although it didn't look like it, it tasted very good.

Mu Ziyu went downstairs and sat in front of the table. He looked at the bowl Shuishui prepared for him and said, "There's seafood."

"I added prawns and some dried seafood to spice it up," Shuishui said. She wanted to make the soup delicious.

Mu Ziyu ate it in big mouthfuls. "It's delicious."

"If it's delicious, eat more until you're full. I also cut some fruits and put them in a lunch box for you. You can take it with you to the office," Shuishui said. She had prepared a box of fruits for Mu Ziyu.

Of course, Mu Ziyu was very happy.

Shuishui also sat down to eat. "I'll cook for you again next time."

"Is this the first time you prepared this kind of soup?" Mu Ziyu asked.

Shuishui nodded with a smile. "It tastes pretty good."

"Of course. I'm willing to eat anything you prepare," Ziyu said as he looked at Qian Shuishui dotingly. In the end, he finished several servings of the soup.

Shuishui felt a sense of accomplishment. "I especially like watching you eat the dishes I prepare, especially when you finish them and eat a lot."

"If you're happy, I'm happy." Ziyu also enjoyed eating the dishes Shuishui prepared.
