After breakfast, Qian Anzhi sent Qian Momo out. Qian Momo wasn't too happy at first, but she had no choice because Qian Anzhi was already standing at the door and waiting for her.
Qian Momo lazily dragged herself to the door. "All right. I'm going back."
Qian Anzhi escorted Qian Momo as she walked to the car. "Big Sister, don't get involved in drugs anymore. It won't do you any good. Shuishui and I are living a good life now. If it's really difficult for you, I'll definitely help you. But you have to remember that I haven't graduated from college yet. I don't have any income, and I can't help you much. My allowance and living expenses are from Second Sister's small investments."
"Investments? What small investments can she make?" Qian Momo said disdainfully.
Qian Anzhi shook his head and said, "I don't know much about it either. You should leave. In the future, don't come looking for us when you need something. After all, we're all adults now. If you need anything, call Mom. We won't help you next time. Also, I lent you three hundred yuan, and the bail was three thousand yuan. Remember to pay me back the amount. I need money for school and other expenses."
Qian Shuishui didn't tell Anzhi to ask for the money, but he took the initiative to ask for it. It would be good for both of them if they were to be clearer. Moreover, he felt that he had to be clearer with his sister. If Momo wouldn't pay him back, he wouldn't be able to help her in the future. He didn't want Momo to think that they were at her beck and call and would come rushing to help her whenever she wanted them to.
Qian Momo snorted coldly and said, "Don't worry. I'll pay you back."
"Then I'll text you my bank account. Send me the money as soon as possible. I need it before my final exam." Anzhi knew Momo would be able to pay him. He just needed to convince her that she had to pay the soonest possible time.
Qian Momo gritted her teeth and almost got out of the car to hit Qian Anzhi. "I'll pay you when I get back. Don't rush me. It's as if you're in a hurry."
Qian Anzhi waved his hand and walked home. He immediately sent Qian Momo a text message: "Remember to hurry up."
Jiang Li looked at Qian Anzhi's evil smile. "What are you laughing at? Did something interesting happen?"
"I asked her to pay me back, and she exploded in anger. She gets angry so easily. I only said a few words," Anzhi said. He was amused. "When she pays me back, let's go out and have fun."
"This doesn't seem right. You will accept the amount that Sister Qian paid as bail? Does Sister Qian know?" He looked at Qian Anzhi. It appears that Anzhi would use the money for himself.
"You don't know my elder sister's personality. If she knew that I did this, she wouldn't blame me. After all, it's good for us to be clear with her." Anzhi looked like he wasn't worried about anything.
Shuishui took out the review material. "I have here a test for first year high school. Try solving the problems."
"Math?" Qian Anzhi craned his neck to look.
"Yes, but before you do this, tell me, do you want to take up arts or science in your second year?" Shuishui didn't know what they were thinking. She knew she would be able to help them with science but not with arts.
In unison, the boys said, "Science."
"Okay. Try to solve this sheet first. I'll print out the physics reviewer. For the other subjects, you will have to study by yourselves." Shuishui made it clear that she could only help them with the math and science subjects.
The boys thought that Shuishui was going upstairs, but she just sat in the living room and watched over them. They could only bury their heads in the papers she gave them. They never expected that having a mock exam at home would be awkward.
There were many questions that they were unable to answer.
After an hour and a half, Shuishui walked over and collected their papers. Then, she handed the physics exam to them. "This is for physics."
Shuishui took out a red pen and checked their papers. When she finished and summed up their correct answers, Shuishui scrunched her nose and forehead and said, "This shows that you still have a lot to learn. You need to master the basics. Also, you failed to analyze the graph to prove that this CDE is an equilateral triangle. You can't just randomly write down your answer without showing how you got that answer in the first place. You need to be able to prove it based on the existing conditions."
Shuishui looked at them to make sure they could follow her and continued, "You have similar weaknesses. Let's start with the basic equations." Many of the equations were basic. She found the sample equations on the Internet, and she herself solved them. She said, "Let me give you a general description first. What are the characteristics of these few . . ."
In an hour, she sorted out all the graphics and taught them the basic principles of the equations. She had to ensure that they understood because their ability to show their solutions would depend on their understanding of the principles.
The boys were overwhelmed. They had to memorize so many things at once. Fortunately, they were already quite familiar with many of the things Shuishui taught them. All they had to do was to become familiar with how the equations were formed and how solutions were structured.
Shuishui had already printed out another set of equations for them to solve and gave them each a copy. "Although you have memorized it, you still won't be able to remember them unless you practice. Now, we will solve a few simple equations so that you will become more familiar with the overall solving process."
They stared at the equations and were able to quickly write down their answers. They were able to solve the equations at a faster pace. Qian Anzhi was still sighing when he finished. "It would be great if our exams would be this easy," he said.
"Stop dreaming," Shuishui said. She checked their solutions and answers and felt that they had done satisfactorily. "Now let's move on to the second part," she said.
Suddenly, Auntie Jiang arrived. When she walked into the living room, she saw the children studying. "Aiyo, this atmosphere is good. Wait for me. In half an hour, I'll be able to cook something delicious for you guys," she said.
She carried the ingredients to the kitchen and began to prepare. She was in a good mood and was even humming a song.
Jiang Li was dumbfounded. "No way. Mom is cooking?"
"What's wrong? Auntie's cooking is quite delicious. I've eaten many of her dishes a few times before. Is there any problem?" Shuishui asked back.
"Her cooking really isn't bad. It's just that she can only cook the dishes that she's good at. Her other dishes don't really taste good. I'm not very sure what Mom is trying to cook with the ingredients she brought into the kitchen just now. I feel like it's going to be a tragedy," Jiang Li said as he looked at Shuishui with a conflicted expression. "Forget it. We'll see how it goes later."
Shuishui answered, "Just focus on reviewing. We have to finish reviewing everything by today because I'm leaving tomorrow. I'll give the reviewers and other test questions to Uncle Jiang so he can supervise you. I'll be back in about five or six days. When I get back, we can continue reviewing. I should be able to make it in time. I'll help you review before your exam. You should review for the whole day in the next five days. Otherwise, you won't be able to catch up. I can help you with whatever you'll be working on in the next five days." Shuishui then remembered that Uncle Jiang would also be watching over Anzhi in the next five days since she wouldn't be home.
Anzhi and Jiang Li had bitter expressions on their faces. They were not very eager to go through five days of intensive studying, but they couldn't refute it because it was also for their own good.
When Auntie Jiang finished cooking, they went in to help carry the bowls and dishes. Jiang Yuan was worried when he saw what his mother had cooked. "Sure enough, my mom tried cooking new dishes," he said in a worried tone.
"It's okay," Shuishui said as she helped carry the dishes out. "They're quite fragrant."
They all sat down and ate lunch together. Auntie Jiang asked, "How did your study session today go?"
"En, it's okay. I'm leaving tomorrow and will be gone for about five days. I'll have to trouble Auntie then. I will hand over to you the exercises they have to do in the next few days. It can be considered an extra small task," Shuishui said.
"Sure. Don't worry and leave it to me. I'll definitely let them work on them every day," Auntie Jiang said while patting her chest.
Shuishui nodded. "Thank you, Auntie Jiang."
"It's no trouble at all. I'll be here to take care of them anyway. Go have fun! You deserve to enjoy and take a break after passing the exam," Auntie Jiang said happily. She was so amazed by Shuishui's achievements. She was also very surprised when she heard that Shuishui passed and ended up being the top scorer in science. After all, she was only a sophomore in high school. It simply showed how proficient she was in her studies.
"Continue guiding these two. With you as their elder sister, I hope they will follow in your footsteps and learn from you." She was relieved that her son would stay in Shuishui's house often. Shuishui was a role model. She was also very sensible and knew when to advance and when to retreat. Anzhi and Xiao Li were in the same grade, and if Shuishui taught Anzhi, Auntie Jiang knew that it wouldn't be a problem for her to teach Jiang Li as well.
They started to eat the dishes that Auntie Jiang had prepared. The dishes tasted ordinary, but their lively conversation made the meal more meaningful.
Shuishui said, "This seaweed soup is very delicious."
"I added some shrimp to make the dish taste more fresh," Auntie Jiang said proudly. "Anyway, do you guys want to continue studying this afternoon? I'll stay here and take a look."
"Sure. Auntie Jiang, may I ask you to keep an eye on them later? I'll go walk the dogs," Shuishui said.
Auntie Jiang nodded. "Don't worry. You go walk the dogs. I'll watch them for a while."
After dinner, the task of washing the dishes fell to Jiang Li and Qian Anzhi. Shuishui took out two sets of exercises. "Auntie will let you do these later," she said to the boys.
Shuishui put the two dogs on their leashes and dragged them out. "Let's go out and play," she said.
The dogs were very happy and rushed forward. Shuishui grabbed the leash and tried to keep them calm. Huskies loved to run around because they have a very curious nature. She had once accidentally let go of the leash, and the husky had run into a puddle of muddy water. She was so angry then.
As soon as she walked out, a truck stopped at the villa next to Shuishui's. Shuishui saw men carrying furniture from the truck to the house. Shuishui watched from a distance and realized that they were going to have a new neighbor.
The villa next to hers used to be empty. She had recently heard sounds from inside, and they indicated that renovations were underway. She thought of bringing a few welcome gifts for the new visitor.
Although neighbors would not see each other often, it was still basic etiquette to visit someone who had just moved in.
Half an hour later, Shuishui returned from walking the dogs. She brought a small gift and visited the new neighbor.
She pressed the doorbell. Shuishui thought that maybe the owner wasn't there yet. Just as she was about to leave, someone opened the door. Shuishui turned around and saw who it was. She laughed dryly and said, "Sorry. I pressed the wrong doorbell. Sorry to disturb you."
Shuishui turned around to leave.
