Chapter 246 - Chapter 245 Zhi'an's problem

Brother Li didn't expect to receive bad news from his sister, Li Xue. He expected that they would be able to take control of the company, especially since President Mo was in power. They basically couldn't make any move. In order to avoid complications, they could only look for other way. Fortunately, they were in charge of one of the projects. However, it would be difficult to transfer the property in their name, especially because Qian An was more skeptical about their motives. He had become more cautious. If the Li brothers wanted to profit from the project, they had to be extra careful.

The project involved a lot of people. If Qian An found out about it, they might go to jail. Therefore, they needed to be more careful than ever.

The Li brothers were willing to risk it. After all, if they gave up, they would lose everything.

Qian An's absence allowed them to move faster. CEO Mo was wary of them, so they could not really establish a good relationship with him. They gave him gifts, but he sent them back. It was quite awkward.

Qian An was hospitalized for a few days. When he was discharged, Li Xue mentioned the whole matter again. "Hubby, when you go back, get someone to give Momo a good position so that she won't be bullied."

"There's no need to say anything more about that. She starts from the bottom level. Let her show her abilities. If she does well, she will be granted a position that suits her skills and abilities," Qian An said impatiently. "Also, stop talking to me about your brothers. What abilities do they have? They only keep causing trouble. They keep introducing these so-called clients, and I'm not sure what their motives are. I can't give them any other positions. Their positions now match their skill level and abilities."

Qian An had said everything bluntly. He only hoped that she could understand how the company worked. It was not easy to give away positions. All prospects had to go through a rigorous application process. The position of director was the hardest to fill in. Not just anybody could fulfill that role. Qian An cared more about a person's ability and intelligence, because those were qualities that the top position required.

He was very clear about Shuishui's ability. She was calm and she was very suitable for business. However, if Shuishui didn't want to, he wouldn't force her. He could only hope that Shuishui would follow her dreams and achieve her goals.

To see his daughter do what she wanted to do in the future and see her find happiness in her chosen career—for him, that was what made a father successful.

Shuishui and Qian Anzhi accompanied Qian An back. Qian An didn't go to the office. He let President Mo handle everything because he also needed to rest. Also, he really didn't want to see the people he once trusted being replaced. He also hated seeing the Li brothers wandering around the office. He simply didn't want to see them.

Shuishui returned to school and attended her classes. She also took the monthly exam along with everyone else.

Shuishui didn't disappoint and remained at the top of the list.

Mu Qing walked beside Shuishui. "Shuishui, you're amazing. You missed class for a few days, but you're still number one. I heard that the key class wanted to surpass you and worked hard before the exam. Their teacher even tested them with similar questions. How despicable. They're probably going to explode from anger." Mu Qing laughed.

Mu Qing was annoyed that the teachers of the key class were quite unfair. They would always say that Shuishui was lucky. It seemed like they found it hard to acknowledge that Shuishui was simply smart.

Shuishui wasn't bothered by what others would say about her at all. "Why do you care about what they think? We just need to do our best. And I'm also very surprised. You've improved quite a lot. Not bad."

"That's true. I've been studying hard. I've spent a lot of time with my tutorial classes. My mother would have beaten me to death if I hadn't made any progress." Mu Qing started becoming more attentive in class. She saw that her ranking had increased by more than ten spots. Although she didn't really enjoy her tutorial classes, she was amazed by her progress.

The two of them walked towards the canteen. When they arrived at the canteen, there were no more seats left. Fortunately, they spotted some of their male classmates and sat with them. It was also the first time they all sat together for a meal. Shuishui's amiable attitude had increased her popularity. While Shuishui ate, she listened to the conversations of her classmates. She would occasionally chime in and laugh with everyone.

Mu Qing was able to get along with everyone very quickly. One of the boys asked Shuishui, "Shuishui, you're really good at your studies. You've always been number one in your batch. Is there anything that you don't know? Can I ask you?"

Shuishui nodded. "That's all right. I'll try my best to help. However, my answers might not be satisfactory."

"It's all right. I feel that the learning atmosphere here is very good." He actually had a good impression of Shuishui. He found it a good opportunity to get to know her more.

Mu Qing could tell that the young boy was interested in Shuishui. She laughed when she realized how popular her friend Shuishui was.

Shuishui was more casual, but she understood that her young classmate seemed to be interested in her. However, he did not really do anything and only wanted to ask her a question.

Mu Qing knew that Shuishui was generally good-tempered, even in tough situations.

"Shuishui, shall we go out for dinner tonight?" Mu Qing wanted to celebrate.

Shuishui nodded. "Sure. It's been a long time since I've had dinner with you."

As close friends, Shuishui and Mu Qing's daily routine involved having lunch together and simply going home after school. They would spend breaks together. After the monthly exams, Mu Qing felt that she could finally take a break. She wanted to eat something delicious to relax. They did not want to go too far, so they found surveyed a few small restaurants that they had not been to before. Only by tasting their dishes would they know if they were delicious. Mu Qing especially liked to gossip with Shuishui because she was very comfortable with each other. Shuishui was a good listener and was a soft-spoken person. Although she had a cold personality, Mu Qing had already gotten used to it.

They both came from relatively wealthy families, so they weren't too picky when it came to eating. They didn't mind having to pay a bit more for delicious food that would suit their tastes.

After dinner, they separated and returned to their homes. They knew they should not stay out late to keep themselves safe.

Shuishui had bought a few snacks before she went home. She didn't know if Qian Aznhi had already eaten.

When she returned home, she saw that Anzhi had a few visitors. Shuishui smiled and greeted them. "Did you come over to study today?"

Shuishui saw that they were doing their homework. She assumed that they were diligent students. It was already April, so she asked, "Are you guys taking the midterm exam in July?"

"Yes, Sister Qian," a boy replied.

Shuishui put the snacks she bought on the counter. "I bought some snacks. Anzhi, go put them on a plate so you guys can try them."

"Okay. Thank you, Second Sister." He quickly stood up and heated the snacks before serving them to everyone.

Shuishui returned to her room and took a shower. After that, she went out to go to the study room. Just as she got out of her room, she was pulled over by Qian Anzhi. "Sister, we're taking the exam tomorrow. It's going to be a mock midterm exam. It's going to be so difficult. Can you teach us?"

The young boys hoped that Shuishui could help them.

They were all prepared to spend the night in the apartment to review for the exam. The mock midterm exam was very important to them because they were not top-performing students. They had to get their grades up. They were also unsure whom to ask for help. In school, they found it difficult to approach their teachers, who only perceived them as average students and who were generally impatient towards them.

Shuishui looked at the boys, who looked desperate and disorganized. "Do you guys usually cram for your exams?"

"We just want to get good results because we don't want to be separated. At least, we can't do too badly on the exam, or we'll really be assigned to another class." Qian Anzhi was somewhat emotional. At the last moment, they had decided to study together so they would have higher chances of getting good scores.

Shuishui took a chair and sat down, looking at the materials they were reviewing. "Actually, if it's a basic problem, it's going to be useless if you simply stare at these mathematical formulas. You only have one night to study, so it would be better if you choose which questions are most likely to appear and then memorize the solutions and answers to those questions. It will be a bit easier for you because physics and chemistry formulas are similar."

She looked at the information on the table. She saw that it was just basic knowledge made complicated by many solutions.

Qian Anzhi quickly said, "Sister, help us determine the basic and important formulas and solutions. We'll memorize them."

They all looked at Shuishui, and Shuishui looked back at them. "You need to brush up on your knowledge of basic equations, though the final questions will be more complicated. You only need to focus on the first two questions. Generally, if the first two questions are not too difficult, the third one might be a little harder."

Shuishui began to list down a few basic equations for them. She still remembered some basic formulas from the middle school exams. She could easily remember chemistry and physics formulas because they were much easier than mathematical equations.

"Memorize them repeatedly. It's been a long night. If you don't understand, you can ask me. I need to prepare something," Shuishui said as she stood up. She wanted to go to the study room to read for a while.

Anzhi and his classmates began to memorize the formulas Shuishui had pointed out to them. Before they talked to Shuishui, they felt so helpless. They have been studying for a few hours then, and nothing had seemed to work until Shuishui explained it to them.

They felt relieved that they could approach Shuishui if they didn't understand anything. Shuishui had a clear understanding of the topic. They suddenly felt enlightened after she had taught them a good strategy for studying and learning the formulas. "It's getting late. I'm resting. You guys do as you see fit," Shuishui said to them.

She yawned and slowly returned to her room.

She didn't need to stay up all night because staying up all night was too tiring.

Qian Anzhi and the others watched as Shuishui return to her room. They were also sleepy, but they still persisted.

Shuishui fell asleep not long after she went to bed. Soon, it was morning again.

Shuishui got out of bed as soon as her alarm clock rang. She felt like she'd had enough sleep. She then went to the bathroom and washed up. She changed into her school uniform and walked out of her room. In the living room, she saw Aznhi and his friends huddled around the sofa and wrapped in blankets. She walked towards them and tried to wake them up. "Hey, get up. Don't you have an exam today?"

They quickly got up because they couldn't be late for the exam.

Shuishui took out the steamer. She steamed many dumplings for Anzhi and his friends. Shuishui ate a few dumplings herself and prepared to leave for school. She said to Anzhi, "I steamed a lot of dumplings. They're in the kitchen. Prepare the bowls and chopsticks for your classmates later." Shuishui then left for school.

Qian Anzhi walked to the kitchen and prepared the dumplings for his friends.

His classmate had an envious look on his face. "Qian Anzhi, your sister is really a nice person."

Qian Anzhi nodded. "En, she is pretty good." It was undeniable that his second sister had changed since she entered high school. "Hurry up and eat. We need to get to school early. Let's hope we do well in the exams," he said to his friends.
