Shuishui told Ziyu about what had happened with Young Master Hua. She didn't like him at all. She didn't have a good impression of him.
Mu Ziyu felt that it was all a little strange. "This Young Master Hua also asked you out before. He doesn't stop until he gets what he wants. It's inevitable that he'll use other methods to get to you again."
"All right. Let's not talk about this person anymore." Shuishui did not want to talk about him anymore.
Mu Ziyu stopped for a moment and said, "Shuishui."
Shuishui wanted to give Mu Ziyu her gift. "Wait a moment. There are still a few more days before New Year. Let's go out on a date."
She wanted to give Ziyu a small token of appreciation. He often used a belt, and it was a practical gift. The belt came in a neutral color, and Ziyu could pair it with many of his clothes.
"En, you have to go with Uncle Jiang to his office in the next few days. Uncle Jiang did not make things difficult for you, did he?" Ziyu knew that Jiang Yuan treated Shuishui well, but he found it awkward that he had to bring Shuishui with him even to the office. Shuishui was on vacation, yet Jiang Yuan had been assigning tasks to Shuishui.
Shuishui shrugged. She didn't really care about it. "He won't make things difficult for you. Uncle Jiang's goal is actually very simple. He just wants us to see less of each other. He's just worried. I've been here for quite a few days already. When I go back to the city, I don't know when we'll have time to see each other again."
"Yes. Don't worry. I'll pick you up tomorrow night for dinner. It's been too long since we talked. You don't have to go to the office on New Year, so he probably won't mind where you go after work, right? Will he restrict you from going anywhere?" Ziyu was a little annoyed that Jiang Yuan seemed to get in the way of his and Shuishui's happiness.
Shuishui couldn't help but laugh. "It's true that he can't restrain me, but you have to consider that I'll be going back home with Uncle Jiang after work. He even said that he would take me to social events. Anyway, that's all for now. After all, Uncle Jiang is an elder, and every time I talk to my dad, he reminds me to try to learn from Uncle Jiang."
There was nothing she could do. Her dad was fully supportive of Uncle Jiang's way of doing things, so she could only obey him. Anyway, she respected her elders. Moreover, Uncle Jiang and his family treated her quite well, so she didn't want to make things difficult for him.
Mu Ziyu understood what Shuishui meant. She was also a grateful and courteous person. She treated her elders with great respect. She would obey their wishes and commands when she had to. This was hard on Ziyu. He didn't really talk about it, but his heart was heavy, and he was frustrated. He was even more frustrated when he saw her with Young Master Hua. "When can you contact me directly?" he asked.
"I'll contact you as soon as I have time," Shuishui promised. She had only been in the office for a few days, and Uncle Jiang didn't expect her to be too relaxed.
Shuishui soon fell asleep, and Mu Ziyu heard the steady sound of her breathing. He smiled gently and said softly, "Good night, Baby."
The next day, Shuishui woke up early. She went downstairs to eat breakfast and left with Uncle Jiang. That day, Uncle Jiang was going to inspect a construction site, so he asked Shuishui to stay in the office. She was told that there were no specific tasks for her, so she could do whatever she wanted. Jiang Yuan told them he would be back in the afternoon, so he told Secretary Huang to bring Shuishui to the canteen for lunch.
Shui Shui refused. "I can eat by myself, and I can go out and take a look. "
"That depends on you. After lunch, you can go back to the office to take a nap. I'll be back in the afternoon." He thought he could bring Shuishui with him to the construction site, but it was too dirty and messy there. He felt that since Shuishui was a girl, she probably wouldn't like it there, so he didn't bother to ask her.
Shuishui bid Jiang Yuan goodbye and watched him leave.
When Jiang Yuan left, she began to stroll around. She left the office and strolled around the building. Nearby, she saw newly renovated and newly opened shops. Many of the shops were new, but there weren't many customers and guests.
One special shop caught her attention. It sold computers and technological software. She walked in and saw some strange-looking computers. She picked them up to have a feel of what they were like. They were quite heavy. The shop had young staff, and overall, it seemed special and unique. None of the staff came and approached Shuishui. They were quite busy attending to their own affairs. She saw a small, familiar-looking computer and went forward. She checked the computer's specifications. It had a high memory capacity, and its hardware was high-end. She took a closer look at the computer. It was a touch-screen computer, and the screen had a 360-degree rotation feature. Shuishui felt it would very convenient to carry around because it was lightweight.
The computer costs 35,000 yuan. Most people would not spend that amount of money to buy a computer. Although it was a high-end computer, she was unsure yet because she did not actually know how it worked. She could see the features for herself because it was turned off.
She gazed at the computer and tried to asses it. Though it caught her attention, it was not a very attractive one. She walked to the other side to look at other computer models. She saw many random items, like a small pair of 3D binoculars.
As she looked over, she realized that there were so many small items. She was a little curious, so she talked to a few of the staff. "Are all these small random items for sale?"
The staff were kind enough to explain to Shuishui. "Yes, and these are all designed and made by us. We can guarantee that they are of high quality, and they have met the national standard quality requirements. Many of these items are useful. For example, this microphone has a small button that can be used to communicate as well. It has very good sound quality. For all our products, we have a warranty period of three months."
Shuishui nodded and picked up a small mouse. She remembered that she needed to buy one. It wasn't very expensive, but it was several times more expensive than an ordinary mouse. "I want to buy this mouse. Can I use my credit card here?"
"Yes, the installation method and other instructions are in the box. It has a warranty period of three months. After your purchase, if it gets broken, you can bring it here to have it repaired." The staff was not expecting a young girl to make such purchases.
"I'm going back to City A in a few days. If it gets broken within the next three months, should I send it back here?" Shuishui asked.
"Yes, you may. We can shoulder the return shipping fee. Also, we occasionally offer exchanging the broken item for a new one at half price within three months," she explained. Quality and customer service was very important to them. It was one of the strategies they used to prevent the customers from encountering problems with their products and not knowing how to deal with them.
Not many customers have actually complained about their products. Very few of their customers returned to have their products repaired or fixed.
Shuishui nodded. "Please use my card and give me the invoice."
The shop assistant was very quick. He wrapped the item up and then gave it to Shuishui. "Miss, the other functions of this mouse are in the instruction manual."
"Okay. I'll read the manual and try the other functions when I get back." Shuishui took the box and returned to Uncle Jiang's office. She was curious about the mouse and immediately took it out and read the instruction manual. Other than its two main keys, it had three more keys with different functions. One was for adjusting volume, one was for refreshing the computer, and the other was a shortcut for the number 1. It didn't seem to match. There were many other keys, but Shuishui thought they were actually useless.
Shuishui, however, was flexible. She quickly understood the functions and unexpectedly liked using the mouse. She ignored its many other functions and simply used it as a regular mouse.
In fact, that mouse would have been useful for people whose jobs required them to use computers all the time, such as video editors, graphic artists, or computer engineers.
At noon, she went out to look for something delicious to eat for lunch. As she passed by the computer shop, she entered it again and asked, "What products here would you recommend for gamers?"
"We have a keyboard specially designed for online game players. However, it's quite difficult to use because the player would need to download a software first. Actually, what makes this keyboard convenient for gamers is the arrangement of the keys. Many of the keys that are commonly used during online games are easily accessible to the players, and it gives the player more time to enjoy the game rather than looking for the right keys."
This design was actually very straightforward. It was designed for those who loved to play online games, particularly for those who played in large-scale online and competitive games. She squatted down and looked at it. "Then I'll take this too," she said.
Mu Zilin liked to play games, so Shuishui thought that he would probably like the keyboard too. The price was relatively all right for the quality of the item. She paid for the item, took it, and left. Back in the shop, as soon as she left, one of the salespersons said, "Kids nowadays are really rich."
"But those two items she bought were practical purchases. Business today has been good, though we sold only two items. The earnings aren't enough." A female shop assistant sighed. She needed money.
Another one answered, "Yeah, and not all the customers who went inside the shop today were willing to buy any of our items. They probably felt that the things we made were useless." They were helpless, but there was nothing they could do. It was so difficult to start and run a business.
"Still, I'm very happy. We were still quite successful today." They were happy that they did not completely fail. They were hopeful that their profit would increase in the following days or weeks. They knew that the road ahead was hard.
They were also a little disappointed because they sold two items in one day, and they sold them to the same person. "We haven't had many customers like that girl. After all, the items we sell aren't really cheap."
Meanwhile, Shuishui found a snack shop and went in to eat.
She was going to eat in the shop, but the shop was full of people. Instead, she ordered food and had them packed for takeout. She took them back to the office to eat.
The woman from the computer shop entered the shop as well. When she saw Shuishui, she took the initiative to talk to her. "Oh, you're here for takeout too."
"Yes, since it's already noon. It should be ready soon." Shuishui had waited for almost half an hour. The lady boss had just told her that it was almost ready.
She grabbed her takeout food and left in a hurry.
She and the female shop assistant had only met by chance, so neither of them said much to each other.
Shuishui went back and ate in the office. She turned on the computer and surfed the Internet. Technology in her previous life was more advanced, although she could not tell which world she lived in was more convenient. After her visit to the computer shop, she felt that she would be able to recreate many of the items she had used in her previous life.
Technology was constantly improving. Perhaps she could seize the opportunity. She thought about business opportunities and their earning potentials. She felt like such ventures would be worthwhile investments.
