Chapter 215 - Chapter 214

Shuishui returned to her room and called Mu Ziyu after she took a shower. "Ziyu, Uncle Jiang wants to see you."

Ziyu was a little confused. "Okay, but why does Uncle Jiang want to see me?"

Shuishui thought about it and decided to tell him. "Uncle Jiang doesn't really want us to be together. Based on our backgrounds, we are indeed not suitable for each other."

Mu Ziyu did not know what was going on, but he was instantly furious. He was conflicted and felt very uncomfortable. "What do you mean by that? You want to break up with me because of an outsider's disapproval?"

Shuishui was embarrassed. That was not what she meant. She simply stated things as they were. "Don't be agitated. I did not mean that," she said.

Mu Ziyu was angry and couldn't control his emotions. He did not want to hear anything about breaking up. "I will not agree to it. I won't break up with you. All right. You should rest early tonight."

Mu Ziyu ended the call before Shuishui could even respond. He was definitely angry.

She stared blankly at her phone. She had never thought that Mu Ziyu would react that way. What should she do now? Her head was terribly aching. If she had known earlier, she would not have said it that way. In fact, it was what she had said that made Mu Ziyu furious. They came from different backgrounds, but other people had no idea who they were as a couple.

She held her forehead and thought for a long time. She called Mu Qing to ask for advice.

When Mu Qing answered the call, Shuishui went straight to the point. "Mu Qing, let me ask you something. What are we supposed to do when an issue causes an argument in a relationship?"

"Ah? Conflict? What happened?" Mu Qing was eating supper outside. Shuishui rarely called her. If she did call, it had to be something urgent and important. Could it be that Shuishui had a relationship problem?

"I said something wrong, and then he became furious. He didn't lose his temper, but he sounded a little different," Shuishui said helplessly. She didn't know what to do either.

Mu Qing laughed out loud. Shuishui was really very straightforward. "You definitely have to coax him. Sometimes, you aren't even aware that what you said had hurt him. Call him and see if he picks up. If he picks up, apologize and say something nice. If he doesn't pick up your call, then call him a few more times. If he still doesn't pick up, then send him a message."

Shuishui felt that the method Mu Qing suggested was more suitable for her relationship with Ziyu. Her previous relationships and quarrels were all because of work or money. Some men wanted to control her finances, and having been an independent woman, she never gave in to their demands.

After she talked with Mu Qing, Shuishui called Ziyu. She initially thought that he wouldn't answer, but he picked up just as she was about to end the call. Shuishui quickly said, "Ziyu, I didn't think through what I said earlier. Don't take it to heart."

"I know what you're trying to say, but I want to ask you something. If the person who wanted to break us apart was your father, how would you handle it?" Ziyu knew that Shuishui respected Qian An very much. If it was him who opposed their relationship, would she break up with him? Ziyu had calmed down a bit. He felt that he should not let his emotions get the better of him. He was worried about what Shuishui would think and how she would handle it. When he saw that she had called again, he was secretly relieved and delighted.

Shuishui calmed down and said, "Actually, none of this is a problem. Uncle Jiang is the one who's worried about it, and I know my father will agree with him on the matter. He's quite against you and aristocratic families. My household registration is under his name now. When he first met you, he tried to learn more about you."

"I'll meet with him. Don't worry. They can't make the decision for me." Mu Ziyu listened to Shuishui's voice and continued, "Are you still worried about me? When you become an *****, I can immediately go overseas with you to get a marriage certificate."

Shuishui was embarrassed. "Of course I'm worried about you. Were you angry just now?"

"A little. Do you think I'd be happy after my girlfriend told me that we aren't suitable for each other?" Earlier, he felt that Shuishui was going to break up with him, so he didn't want to continue the conversation and abruptly ended the call.

Shuishui knew that she was often careless with her words, so she said, "I know I'm wrong. Don't be angry. I won't bring it up again."

"Good. It's good that you know. I'll talk to you next time. I'll spank your ass." Ziyu felt relieved and didn't think too much about it. Shuishui was more simple-minded. Ziyu knew that aristocratic families were indeed troublesome, but he would not let Shuishui get hurt. His parents also liked Shuishui very much, so he wasn't worried that his own family would oppose it.

Shuishui ignored Ziyu's joke and simply said, "Then let's schedule it. Uncle Jiang is quite concerned about this matter."

"En, but why is your hukou now with Uncle Jiang?" Ziyu remembered what Shuishui had said about it earlier.

He felt that Shuishui's situation was becoming more and more complicated. Move to Beijing and be transferred to someone else's hukou? Why was that?

Shuishui couldn't explain it to Ziyu. It was something she found hard to tell because it was a sensitive matter. "It was my father's decision. I'll read for a while and then go to bed. You should rest early."

Mu Ziyu knew that Shuishui did not want to talk about it, so he didn't force her. After all, it involved a private matter. "Okay. Rest early."

Shuishui lay down and stared at the blue ceiling. She did not think about it anymore. Anyway, things were all right between her and Mu Ziyu.

She closed her eyes and slept early.

Mu Zilin wanted to meet up with Shuishui as soon as he was available. However, Shuishui had turned off her phone, and it made him very angry.

Mu Zilin looked at his phone and thought, 'You actually turned off your phone?'

Shuishui was woken up by Auntie Jiang the next day. After breakfast, they left the house. Auntie Jiang wanted to bring Shuishui to a salon for a beauty treatment. Shuishui wore a purple backless dress and walked with Jiang Li. Jiang Li felt uneasy ever since he had overheard his father's conversation with Shuishui.

Shuishui noticed Jiang Li's expression. "Xiao Li, what's wrong?"

"Nothing." Jiang Li guiltily averted his gaze.

Shuishui glanced at him. What did he mean by that? And what was he feeling guilty about? Did he do something bad? She brought her face closer to his, and his ears turned red. "What are you doing?" Jiang Li asked.

"What did you do?" Shuishui asked back.

"Why are you standing so close to me? Step away," Jiang Li said awkwardly. He liked Shuishui as a person, but he felt embarrassed that she stood near him.

Shuishui stepped back. Why was this guy's face so red? Was he shy? "What's wrong? You've become so shy today. You were very casual before," she said.

"I've always been very casual, and I'm not shy. You're mistaken. I just feel so hot," Jiang Li said nervously.

Shuishui didn't know what he was thinking.

Shuishui didn't care too much about going to the ball because just went with the family to make up for the extra seat. Jiang Yuan wanted to bring Shuishui along, and he had decided that if people started asking about her, he could say that she was his niece.

Many people kept asking Shuishui questions. Shuishui wasn't good at dealing with such things, and she looked for ways to excuse herself. Jiang Li walked over to Shuishui and said, "I also don't like accompanying my father to such events. It can get so boring."

"Okay." She didn't say much and walked towards a table with Jiang Li. As they sat, Jiang Li pointed to the front and said, "Do you see those people? They're quite an exclusive group. I've been with them once. I've never interrupted their conversation. Don't pay too much attention to them. Don't mind what they say later."

They stayed at the sofa and relaxed for a while.

Two girls walked over to them. They seemed to be friendly. One of them asked, "Jiang Li, who is this?"

"This is Qian Shuishui, the daughter of my father's best friend," he said. "Sister Qian, I'll go get you some food. Wait for me here."

"Thank you." Shuishui wanted to go and get food herself, but she was grateful that Jiang Li had offered to get food for her. It was a self-service buffet. Shuishui would often lose her appetite in such places.

A group of rich young masters all sized up Shuishui. Some of the males even ogled at her. Shuishui was very attractive, and she caught the attention of some of the younger male guests.

"Qian Shuishui—why would your family give you such a name?" A rich young girl suddenly mocked Shuishui. She didn't like people who were more beautiful than her.

To her, the name Shuishui didn't really sound good.

It often made people assume that the name belonged to a fickle woman. It was a weird name for many.

Shuishui looked over. "My parents gave me this name. I don't think there's anything wrong with it."

"Maybe you're used to it. I think you'd better change your name to Qian Shiqiu. How poetic," the rich young girl said, and the woman beside her laughed along with her.

Shuishui laughed and answered, "You should know that it's rude to laugh at other people's names. Besides, my parents came up with this name. I respect my parents, and I don't think I need to continue this topic. We're all educated, and even though we don't really know each other, we shouldn't go around mocking other people's names."

It was suddenly clear to everyone that Shuishui was a girl of good upbringing, and the rich girl's face turned red. She suddenly looked very awkward. Shuishui didn't scold anyone, nor did she blame anyone. If the girl had continued mocking her name, then Shuishui would have assumed that the girl herself had a problem with her own upbringing.

However, they were all very proud young people. Who would be willing to be admit that they had a problem with the way they were brought up and raised?

Someone suddenly began to mock her surname and belittle it. "You have a sharp tongue, but I've never heard of the Qian family."

The other young masters did not want to join the conversation. They sat in the middle and listened. They had dyed their hair purple. They looked delicate and pretty, and they wore blue diamond earrings on their left ears. The young master who had mocked Shuishui's surname was only a little older than Jiang Li, but he looked very arrogant. Everyone in their group gave off an arrogant attitude.

Of course, they were a group of pampered young masters and young ladies. They were completely different people.

Wen Xingyu, one of the young masters, was more friendly towards beautiful girls. His attitude was more open and friendly. "All right. What's there to talk about? You scared me the first time we met. My name is Wen Xingyu. Don't mind what Qinqin said. She's more straightforward than any of us. Since you're here, join us and chat with us."

Shuishui nodded. The young man spoke more softly, and he even tried to apologize for the young lady who mocked Shuishui.

Jiang Li came back carrying a plate of fruits. "Sister Qian, I brought this for you. These were boiled with red wine. It has a unique and distinct taste."

"Thank you." Shuishui had tried that dessert before, and she remembered that she didn't like it that much.
