"Yunsheng, you are really not qualified to stand by Yin Qianchen's side."
From the moment they met, Sophia had treated Liang Yunsheng kindly. The two of them seemed like best friends, eating and shopping.
Liang Yunsheng never expected that she would change her expression so suddenly.
Why would she suddenly say that?
She didn't have to be worthy of Yin Qianchen. The feeling of being denied by others, however, wasn't good.
"Does being 'worthy of him' mean that you have to be cruel?" Liang Yunsheng asked.
"In a sense, yes," Sophia smiled. "Rulers throughout history, although tyranny isn't desirable, it's better than a weak and incompetent puppet."
"But if a benevolent ruler gains the hearts of the people, wouldn't that mean that they could win the world?" Liang Yunsheng objected.
Sophia wagged her finger. "Even if a benevolent ruler was in power, how many lives would he have? Have you ever thought about that?"
"Even so..." Liang Yunsheng couldn't kill a family members.
"Well... Rome was not built in a day!"
Sophia looked at Su Qihang as he was released by the bodyguards and limped away. "Yin Qianchen must have expected something like this," she said with a shrug.
The day, that was once a happy one, was thrown into silence.
Did she have to be ruthless to succeed? Liang Yunsheng began to chew on her lower lip.
Liang Yunsheng was just too inexperienced. She would learn with time.
Back home, Liang Yunsheng sat on the sofa. The book in her hand had been open in her lap for half an hour, yet she hadn't read a single page.
Hao Cheng, who was watching her from the side, could not help but be confused. The thought that something could have happened between the two ladies crossed his mind.
"Miss Yunsheng."
Hao Cheng revealed the latest smartphone and handed it to Liang Yunsheng.
Liang Yunsheng just stared.
"Sir asked me to give this to you before I left." Hao Cheng stood and smiled meaningfully.
"A phone?" Liang Yunsheng questioned as she unlocked it. As she flipped through the functions, it suddenly buzzed.
The name displayed on the screen read "Chen".
It was also the only number stored in the phone book.
'Did Yin Qianchen save this himself?' Liang Yunsheng thought. As her mind began to race, she could not help but tremble.
'No, it was probably Hao Cheng's doing.'
Liang Yunsheng answered the call and Yin Qianchen's voice flooded in.
It was their first time talking on the phone. A feeling that was both familiar and strange.
"Are you afraid?" Yin Qianchen asked.
"Huh?" Yin Qianchen's words didn't immediately make sense to Liang Yunsheng, However, she then realized he was asking her about the incident at the mall. "Afraid... A little... I didn't expect Su Qihang to do such a thing..."
"Let him go." Yin Qianchen's words were cold and just.
Liang Yunsheng clenched the phone tighter.
Liang Yunsheng's lack of a response prompted him to continue. "I just want your answer."
