An Shaosi's gaze fell on Yang Xi as she helped her brother up. His indifferent eyes suddenly turned pitch-black.
"Yang Xi, don't be afraid. I'll take you away today." Even if Yang Chen was weak, he was still determined to help his sister escape from An Shaosi.
"Brother, you should leave. I will be fine. You don't have to interfere." Yang Xi tried to calm her brother down. "We will always be close to each other."
Yang Xi couldn't bear to see her brother get hurt.
"But Yang Xi!"
"No buts!" Yang Xi let go of Yang Chen's hand and lowered her head. She then walked slowly towards An Shaosi.
An Shaosi lifted her face and kissed her. There was a hint of coldness in his smile as he whispered, "You've got guts. You actually dared to run away."
"An Shaosi, do we have to get married?"
Yang Xi could no longer hide her displeasure at the idea of marrying him.
Even though they had lived together for some time, she was still afraid of him.
"I don't want to marry you."
Yang Xi had a bitter expression on her face.
"Why are you putting on a cold face again?"
"You should get someone to send my brother to the hospital. He needs a serum injection since your dogs bit him!"
An Shaosi looked at Yang Xi and snapped, "That's why I told you not to put on a straight face. You knew I would punish you."
An Shaosi pinched Yang Xi, and she cried out, "I'm sorry."
"It's okay. I'll forgive you," An Shaosi answered calmly and ordered his servants to go back to the villa.
When Yang Xi got back to her room, she stood in front of the window in a daze.
An Shaosi had asked one of his servants to drive Yang Chen to the hospital. Even though the dogs had injured her brother, An Shaosi did not allow Yang Xi to accompany her brother to the hospital.
Since she could not be with Yang Chen, Yang Xi had called Gu Ruochu and requested her to go to the hospital and check on her brother.
"Miss Yang, this is the cold medicine that Young Master An asked me to bring over. He said that you should take it on time." An old maid walked into Yang Xi's room carrying a tray containing the medicine, and a cup of ginger tea.
Yang Xi took the pills and swallowed them before taking a sip of tea. When the maid left, Yang Xi bolted the door tightly. Her tense mood finally relaxed.
She turned off the lights and crawled into her bed.
Just as she was about to fall asleep, Yang Xi heard a click on the door's lock. A wave of heavy footsteps walked slowly towards her bed. Yang Xi's heart thumped furiously.
In the darkness, An Shaosi stood in front of the bed. His expression was still cold and indifferent.
An Shaosi took his clothes off slowly. When Yang Xi heard the rustling sound of his clothes falling to the ground, she closed her eyes and pretended to be asleep.
Abruptly, the bed caved in. An Shaosi's strong arms pulled Yang Xi into his embrace. His lips pressed against her lips, and he forcefully pried them open.
"Are you pretending to be asleep?"
Yang Xi did not respond. Only one thought was running through her mind.
'What will I do to avoid marrying this man?
'I don't want to marry him! I don't want to run into a grave.'
Yang Xi was absent-minded and did not notice that An Shaosi's expression had turned even more cold and indifferent.
