How could she be so helpless that she had run away?
Xu Yichen felt a tingling pain in his heart when he thought of her helplessness.
Huo Nanchen's expression was as ugly as an Asura. He glanced at him and said, "I will find her."
He turned around and returned to his car. As he started the car, he received a call. "President Huo, I found the driver. He said that he drove the Young Madam to Qiu Lu and left her outside an apartment."
"Have a few people go to Qiu Lu to look for her. I'll go check on Ruochu's other friends. By the way, detain the taxi driver just in case he's lying."
Huo Nanchen could not think of any of Gu Ruochu's family or friends residing in Qiu Lu. How could she possibly go to such a place?
Soon, Rong Xiao, Chu Xinlan, and Yang Xi had all been questioned.
None of them had seen Gu Ruochu. Huo Nanchen felt as if his heart had been whipped, and it burned with pain. He punched the steering wheel, and the veins on the back of his hand were visible.
It was his fault. He shouldn't have lost his temper with her and allowed her to be driven home alone.
Huo Nanchen's assistants called and informed him that they had searched for Gu Ruochu but had not found her.
"Could the Young Madam have run out of the city?"
"No. She wouldn't leave Nan Cheng under such circumstances."
Huo Nanchen recalled Gu Ruochu's insistence that they get a divorce, and he became more distraught. Had she signed the divorce papers and left?
He searched for her the entire night, but there was still no news of Gu Ruochu. His heart was in a mess.
"President Huo, don't worry too much. The Young Madam is an *****. She won't easily get into trouble."
Huo Nanchen's eyes could not hide his exhaustion. His subordinates were even more terrified of him. They didn't want to make him unhappy.
They didn't know how the president had offended the Young Madam.
In the end, they could not find any positive news to tell their boss.
Huo Nanchen even sent his friends to the Gu family. Unfortunately, only Gu Qiang, who was drunk to death, was at the Gu residence. They could not get any information out of him.
"Eat something, or you'll starve to death, and your family won't feel sorry for you."
An Shaosi looked at Gu Qiang, who was sitting on the sofa and turned off his phone. "Huo Nanchen has mobilized a lot of people. I believe there will be news soon."
Gu Qiang only hummed and did not reply.
A strong sense of unease struck Huo Nanchen's heart when he heard that there was still no news about Gu Ruochu's whereabouts. It was as if he was really going to lose her.
'I don't want to hate you more in the future. In the end, I'll become a hateful, bitter woman.'
When Huo Nanchen thought about how she had looked at him, he could tell that she was already bitter towards him. He could not believe that her feelings for him had turned into hatred.
He had always weighed the pros and cons of helping out Cheng Xi and Ning Tangxi, but he never thought that he would lose Gu Ruochu.
It was as if she had been possessed. All Huo Nanchen could think of was her aggrieved look.
Li Tenzhu decided to call An Shaosi and asked, "Could it be that a friend deliberately concealed the Young Madam's whereabouts? Otherwise, it would be impossible for us to have no news at all after searching for an entire night."
"It can't be. Nanchen visited Gu Ruochu's friends personally. He didn't notice anything unusual." An Shaosi's hung up the phone and tapped his fingers lightly on the table. "Nanny Zhang, bring some food over for Huo Nanchen and let him eat."
After some time, Huo Nanchen received a call. "President Huo, the driver just remembered something. There was a church behind the apartment building which he dropped Gu Ruochu. He doesn't know anything else."
They had tortured the driver for some time, and the church was the only thing he had remembered about the area.
"Send me the names and locations of all the churches in the area. I'll go and find her myself."
Finally, there was news. Huo Nanchen took the car keys and left without a word. He wanted to be the first person to lay eyes on Gu Ruochu.
"I'll go too."
