"Let go of me! Let go of me!"
The louder Gu Yanwei shouted the harder Gu Ruochu tugged at her hair. Gu Yanwei wailed in pain, and tears began streaming down her face. However, Gu Ruochu had fallen into a demonic state. She continued to slap Gu Yanwei mercilessly.
"You two are shameless!"
Zhou Yunxi gritted her teeth and pounced towards Gu Ruochu, but she pushed her away with one hand. Zhou Yunxi fell to the ground once again.
"Get out of my way. If you have nothing else to do, stand aside."
Huo Nanchen finally arrived. His heart sank when he saw Gu Ruochu's red eyes and clenched teeth.
"Mr. Huo, you're finally here. Look..."
Huo Nanchen and his assistant, Li Tezhu, looked on as Gu Ruochu continued to pummel Gu Yanwei. Huo Nanchen quickly walked towards her and hugged her from behind. Gu Yanwei then stumbled and broke free from Gu Ruochu's grasp.
"Let go of me!"
Gu Ruochu struggled desperately to break free from Huo Nanchen's arms. However, he held her even tighter. Huo Nanchen looked at her and felt his heart ache. He rested his chin on her shoulder and said, "Don't be afraid. I'm here."
Gu Ruochu trembled and lost all her strength. She was about to kneel on the ground, but his strong arms pulled her up.
"Madam!"
Gu Ruochu leaned limply on Huo Nanchen's arms. Her hands were numb from pain after pummeling Gu Yanwei. Her body was still trembling, but she gritted her teeth and tried her best to control her wild emotions.
"Madam Huo, would you like to apply some medicine to your hands?" One of the nurses had already brought the medicine over. Huo Nanchen carefully carried her to a nearby bench and sat beside her. His face was dark as he held her red palm.
The nurse began to apply the medicine carefully. The other nurses pulled Gu Yanwei to give her some treatment, but she pushed them away coldly and used a tissue to wipe away her tears.
"Since she doesn't want any help, don't give it to her," Huo Nanchen said calmly. His gaze then fell back on Gu Ruochu. "What happened?"
"She..." Gu Ruochu told him the whole story. When he heard Gu Ruochu's story, Li Tezhu furrowed his brows and picked up the pieces of the adoption certificate on the ground.
Huo Nanchen hugged her and gently looked into her eyes. "Do you want to know your background?"
"My father is not a rapist. Zhou Yunxi and her daughter have used me as a shield for so many years, and they are still unwilling to accept it. Even now, they still want to slander me."
Gu Ruochu had eventually calmed down, but she did not regret how she had treated Zhou Yunxi and her daughter. She had tolerated their hatred towards her for a very long time.
Gu Ruochu had always believed that Zhou Yunxi was her biological mother. Now that she had established that Zhou Yunxi was a liar, she was relieved.
She was not the daughter of a rapist!
"Since they refuse to admit it, why don't we just take their blood samples and have them tested?" Huo Nanchen pinched Gu Ruochu's chin. "I think that after the test, you can then find out who your real parents are. The results of the blood test shouldn't be out so soon. Madam Zhou will have to wait until she gets the results."
Zhou Yunxi wanted to resist, but she did not want to argue with Huo Nanchen.
After all, she was already a prisoner at the hospital. She had no choice but to keep mum and follow Huo Nanchen's wishes.
Gu Ruochu was confused. She was anxious about the test and did not know whether the results would make her happy.
