"It's no trouble Madam Huo."
The nurse went upstairs to look for Zhou Yunxi. She had just changed out of her cleaning clothes when the nurse approached her and ordered her to go downstairs. While she made her way down the stairs, Zhou Yunxi could see Gu Ruochu's back facing her.
If the nurse had not forcefully ordered Zhou Yunxi to go and see her, she would have waited for Gu Ruochu to come upstairs on her own.
"Why are you here? Did you come to ask for forgiveness?"
Zhou Yunxi was full of resentment. She assumed that Gu Ruochu had changed her mind and wanted to acknowledge her as her mother again. Her voice was sharp as she scolded her, "I don't want to see you. Get lost you, jinx! It's all your fault that your sister and I have had such bad luck. You are a troublemaker."
Zhou Yunxi was still rude to Gu Ruochu despite her embarrassing status in the hospital.
Gu Ruochu turned around and looked at Zhou Yunxi. She seemed tormented by her new life.
"Do you really hate me that much?"
Zhou Yunxi had a disgusted look on her face as she faced Gu Ruochu.
"Of course I hate you! You're the daughter of a rapist! If I had known that you would harm your sister and me to this extent, I would have strangled you to death."
Gu Ruochu lost all of her senses in the face of Zhou Yunxi's verbal attack. It was now clear that she had been shielding Gu Yanwei from the disgusting title of being a rapist's daughter.
"Zhou Yunxi, I've come here to prove one thing." Gu Ruochu took out the adoption certificate. "Is this yours?"
When the adoption certificate appeared in front of her eyes, Zhou Yunxi furrowed her brows and stared at it for a few seconds. Her blood boiled when she recognized the piece of paper.
Gu Ruochu's cold voice rang out. "This adoption certificate clearly shows that the girl you adopted was not Gu Yanwei, but me, Gu Ruochu!"
Zhou Yunxi's eyes suddenly widened as she charged towards Gu Ruochu and roared, "Give it to me! You... Where did you find it?"
She had been confident that nobody would ever find the certificate when she first hid it.
More importantly, how had Gu Ruochu thought to look for the certificate.
Gu Ruochu would not let her have her way. Zhou Yunxi could not put together a complete sentence. Her eyes were filled with shock and panic.
"I found it in your bedroom at the Gu residence. I never thought that such a huge secret would be hidden on an adoption certificate." Gu Ruochu's face was full of ridicule. "I finally understand why you hate me so much."
Zhou Yunxi attempts to snatch the adoption certificate from Gu Ruochu were unsuccessful. She glared at her with hatred in her eyes. "How can you be so cheap? Using a fake certificate to deceive people? You have no conscience at all. I was right to treat you like a dog!"
Gu Ruochu had expected Zhou Yunxi to refuse to admit her secret. She pushed her away and said, "You can lie through your teeth and accuse me of deceiving you. I've already called Gu Yanwei to come over for a blood test. You and Gu Yanwei are indeed mother and daughter. I know that you won't shed any tears until you see the coffin. You are the cheap one."
Zhou Yunxi panicked. She did not expect Gu Ruochu to inform Gu Yanwei about the adoption certificate. That would only hurt Gu Yanwei.
Zhou Yunxi turned around to leave. "I won't help a lunatic like with your crazy stories."
However, Gu Ruochu was not prepared to let her off so easily. She pulled her over forcefully, and the pain made Zhou Yunxi bare her fangs and brandish her claws like a crazy woman.
"You slut! Let go of me!"
