"All right. Stop arguing."
Ning Zongxuan reluctantly shut his mouth. However, he did not leave the room.
All of a sudden, Yang Xi entered the room carrying a fruit box. When she saw Zhang Yuan and Ning Zongxuan, her mood immediately turned sour, and she called out, "Ruochu."
"Yang Xi, you're here?" Gu Ruochu reached out for the fruit box she was carrying. After handing her the box, Yang Xi patted Gu Ruochu on the shoulder and said, "Be strong. I'll keep you company."
"I'm fine," Gu Ruochu replied as she glanced at the bodyguards outside the door. "Please escort Madam Ning and Young Master Ning out. They have overstayed their welcome."
The bodyguards immediately walked into the room and began ushering the Ning family members out of the room.
Even though Ning Zongxuan wanted to resist, he knew that he could not win a fight against all of Gu Ruochu's bodyguards. He could only grit his teeth and walk towards the door.
"Ruochu, I will come and visit you again."
Gu Ruochu ignored Zhang Yuan's desperate pledge. She had a stony look on her face as she watched her mother leave the room.
After the Ning family members left, Yang Xi turned to Gu Ruochu and said, "Just looking at Ning Zongxuan's face makes me suspect that he has bad intentions towards you. He's an adopted son. He has no blood ties with the Ning family. I don't know what right he has to treat you so arrogantly."
"He's not arrogant. He's just afraid that I'll steal his position in the Ning family. I can tell that he's very jealous of me," Gu Ruochu replied. She had a tired look on her face. Yang Xi suspected that she had not gotten any rest since Huo Nanchen's accident.
Gu Ruochu knew that Ning Zongxuan was only trying to protect his status as the son of an influential family.
However, she did not care.
After she left the hospital, Zhang Yuan's concern for Ning Tangxi's whereabouts grew stronger.
She did not know whether her daughter was safe or not.
The more Zhang Yuan thought about it when she returned home, the more she felt that something was not right. She did not want to alarm Ning Tang, so she chose to discuss the matter with Ning Zongxuan.
"Mom, are you sure that Tangxi disappeared after she called Huo Nanchen?"
"Yes, I'm sure. I even hired a private detective." Zhang Yuan was convinced that her Huo Nanchen was responsible for her daughter's disappearance. "Tangxi has always been careful with her movements. There's only one person she wouldn't be wary of, and that's Huo Nanchen."
"Huo Nanchen is in a coma. How are we going to find my sister?"
Zhang Yuan did not know how to answer Ning Zongxuan's question.
"Mom, only one more person can help us find Tangxi." Ning Zongxuan's eyes flickered. "We have to move quickly."
Zhang Yuan could not handle the suspense, and she snapped, "Tell me quickly if you have any ideas!"
"Ruochu and Huo Nanchen are so close. The reason he kidnapped Tangxi was because of Cheng Xi. He wanted to help Gu Ruochu protect Xu Yichen. I think Ruochu knows about Tangxi's location. If we want to find Tangxi, we have to go after Ruochu."
Ning Zongxuan's analysis made sense, and he continued confidently, "When we find Tangxi, we must charge the Huo family for her kidnapping. Even if Huo Nanchen doesn't wake up, we can't let them get away with this."
The Ning family still had a lot of influence in the city.
