Huo Nanchen and Gu Ruochu's relationship had experienced its ups and downs. Gu Ruochu knew that Ning Tangxi would never forgive Xu Yichen after Cheng Xi's arm was irreversibly damaged. That was the reason why Gu Ruochu had asked Huo Nanchen for a divorce.
However, she did not expect to hate him in the future. Gu Ruochu felt that Huo Nanchen would understand her position after some time.

After finishing up the day's work on the movie set, Gu Ruochu decided to do some shopping, and she called Yang Xi. It had been a while since Gu Ruochu had seen her. Yang Xi was not as skinny as before.
Her hair was tied up, and her body looked a little more youthful.
Yang Xi no longer had the vicious attitude that she had in the past.
"Ruochu, I heard from An Shaosi that you and Huo Nanchen are going to have a new wedding? Should I choose a nice dress then?" Yang Xi was excited as she held Gu Ruochu's hand and walked towards the luxury stores. "Let's go. We have to choose now."
Gu Ruochu was stunned. She had told Huo Nanchen that they would not hold the wedding. However, it dawned on her that Huo Nanchen had ignored her protests, and he had proceeded with the wedding plans.
She felt irritated because they were barely getting along, yet Huo Nanchen was still spreading the news about the wedding.
Gu Ruochu paused for a few seconds and looked at Yang Xi. A smile quickly appeared on her face as she said, "All right."
Almost all of the sales workers in the different luxury stores knew about Gu Ruochu and Yang Xi's identities. They tried their best to woo the two ladies to shop in their stores.
"Ruochu, this dress suits you very well." Yang Xi had a large bag full of new clothes that she had purchased, and she threw it at the bodyguard behind her. "You should buy some clothes and brighten up your mood. You're not thinking of saving money for your husband, are you?"
Yang Xi had bought every new luxury brand that the stores had displayed. Gu Ruochu had looked on with amusement at her friend's extravagant spending.
"Madam Huo, there are a lot of new models this season. Let's take a look." One salesperson approached Gu Ruochu and convinced her to take a look around the store.
"Okay."
Gu Ruochu had not planned on buying any clothes, but after seeing Yang Xi's carefree spending, she tried on a few pieces, and her mood lightened up a bit.
Just as she was about to leave the mall with her shopping bags, Gu Ruochu saw a shinny tail ring in the jewelry store. She paused and took a look. The ring would look good on Huo Nanchen's hand.
Just as the salesperson approached her to make his pitch, Gu Ruochu ignored him and dragged Yang Xi away from the store.
"Didn't you take a fancy to that pinky ring? If you like it, use your card to buy it!" Yang Xi looked at Gu Ruochu meaningfully. "I know you want to give it to Nanchen."
"Forget it!"
Gu Ruochu shook her head and suddenly felt a little emotional.
She did not know why she had considered getting Huo Nanchen a gift.
When Gu Ruochu returned to the Huo residence, one of the maids assisted the bodyguards in carrying the Young Madam's shopping into the house. Gu Ruochu was surprised to find out that Huo Nanchen was still at home.
She had gotten used to him leaving for work early in the morning and returning late at night.
"Why are you at home?"
"Haven't I been at home recently,'' Huo Nanchen replied casually. He curled his lips and asked, "Did you buy some new clothes?"
Before Gu Ruochu could respond, Huo Nanchen received a message on his phone, and after reading it, his face turned red.
"Yes."
Gu Ruochu did not notice the change in his expression and proceeded to carry her shopping bags upstairs.
"Didn't you take a fancy to the pinky ring? You must have thought of something after looking at it for so long. Why didn't you buy it?" Huo Nanchen asked curiously.
Gu Ruochu stood still and narrowed her eyes at him.
"How do you know?"
Huo Nanchen walked towards her and said calmly, "Of course, I know. Don't you know that the mall belongs to the Huo family? The salesperson thought that you liked it, but you refused to go in and take a look."
