"Are you stunned?" Chu Xinlan waved her hand in front of Jin Ye's eyes. She looked at Gu Ruochu and then returned her gaze on Jin Ye. "Don't tell me you think there's something between them? Don't think too much about it. Gu Zexi and Gu Ruochu are related by blood. Don't you know that Ruochu's biological mother is his cousin? Gu Zexi probably wanted to talk to her about the Ning family."
"No." Jin Ye came back to his senses and looked at Chu Xinlan in confusion. "Who is Ruochu's biological mother?"
Jin Ye knew that Zhou Yunxi was not Gu Ruochu's real mother. However, he was yet to find out who her biological mother was.
Had Gu Ruochu found her real mother?
"Ruochu recently found out that her biological parents are Ning Tang, and his wife, Zhang Yuan, but I'm not too sure about the details."
"How could Ruochu be Ning Tang and Zhang Yuan's daughter? Are you kidding me?" Jin Ye retorted subconsciously.
When he remembered his childhood memory about Gu Ruochu and her brother, Jin Ye did not understand how Gu Ruochu had turned out to be the Ning family's daughter. Was Ning Zongxuan Gu Ruochu's brother?
And if so, what did that mean about Gu Ruochu's relationship with Ning Tangxi?
Chu Xinlan thought that Jin Ye did not believe her explanation about Gu Ruochu's background because it was too melodramatic. She rolled her eyes at him and said, "You don't believe it, do you? Ruochu is the daughter of a prestigious family. Ning Tang and his wife have already acknowledged Ruochu as their daughter. It's a pity that she did not grow up by their side. It's normal for her to find it difficult to accept her parents for a while."

After leaving the filming location, Gu Ruochu and Gu Zexi found a restaurant nearby.
They sat down by a window, and one of the waiters walked towards their table to take their order. Gu Ruochu was intrigued as he looked at Gu Zexi. He was only in his early twenties, but he had a more refined air about him.
Gu Zexi did not make eye contact with Gu Ruochu.
"Did you ask me to have lunch with you so that we could discuss Chu Xinlan?"
Gu Zexi put down his cup of coffee, and his gaze landed on Gu Ruochu's face. "No. I have other matters to discuss with you today."
"Is it about the Ning family's shares? If you have anything to say, just say it."
"No. I'm just here to have a meal with you." Gu Ruochu was stunned by his response. Gu Zexi continued calmly, "You don't have to be afraid. Just treat me like a normal friend and talk to me."
