Yang Chen had sustained some minor injuries. The doctors dressed his wounds with a simple bandage and gave him a few injections of rabies vaccine.
"How are you? Are you all right?" Gu Ruochu handed him a glass of water.
Yang Chen shook his head. He was in a sorry state, but the pain from the dog bites had subsided.
"Are you stupid? Why would you try and elope with Yang Xi? Did you think that An Shaosi wouldn't notice your little tricks?"
Huo Nanchen glanced at Yang Chen with an amused look on his face.
Yang Chen did not make eye contact with Huo Nanchen.
He hated himself for being weak. He couldn't even protect his little sister.
Yang Xi had managed to escape from Yang Ziyu, but she was now at An Shaosi's mercy.
"Is An Shaosi really going to marry Yang Xi?" Gu Ruochu furrowed her brows as she looked at Huo Nanchen.
"From the looks of it, it seems that he is serious." Huo Nanchen had always tried to stay out of An Shaosi's business. "Ruochu, we can't interfere in this matter. Everyone has a path to walk."
"Of course, I know that I can't interfere."
Even if she wanted to help Yang Xi, Gu Ruochu still had her own unresolved personal problems. Furthermore, when it came to matters of the heart, outsider interference was not the best solution.
"Yang Chen, you should rest. Yang Xi is worried about you. If you want her to be happy, you should take care of yourself." Gu Ruochu looked at him gently and added, "Yang Xi will be fine. Things will work out between her and An Shaosi. They still have time."

Gu Ruochu's words reminded Yang Chen that his sister had not yet married An Shaosi.

After seeing Yang Chen at the hospital, Gu Ruochu sent a WeChat message to Yang Xi, but she did not reply.

"What's this?"
Huo Nanchen stared at the model airplane in Gu Ruochu's hand.
"It's a child's toy. Isn't Cheng Xi five years old?" Gu Ruochu thought that her intentions were obvious and was surprised by Huo Nanchen's question.
"Are you sure that he will like it?"
"Didn't you play with toys when you were young?"
Huo Nanchen's face darkened, and he looked scornfully at the toy in Gu Ruochu's hand.
Li Tezhu chuckled in the driver's seat. Huo Nanchen's expression turned ugly as he narrowed his eyes and stared at the back of Li Tezhu's head. "What are you laughing at?"
"Nothing. I just think that the Young Madam is very caring." Li Tezhu cleared his throat and added, "I look forward to seeing the two of you have a child together."
Gu Ruochu felt a little embarrassed by Li Tezhu's comment.
"Are we almost there?"
"We're almost there." Li Tezhu looked at the road sign. They were only a turn away from arriving at Cheng Xi's hospital.
