Huo Nanchen looked carefully at Gu Ruochu and finally nodded.
Ning Tangxi led him to a corner. After walking some distance away from Gu Ruochu, Ning Tangxi bit her lip and looked at the person in front of her. Tears suddenly flowed down her face. "Do you care about Gu Ruochu that much? Has Cheng Xi lost his status in your heart? You asked Lan Nuo to persuade me to withdraw my lawsuit. How can I let go of the murderer who harmed my son?"
Huo Nanchen calmly looked at her tears.
He took out a lighter and a cigarette. His fingertips held the cigarette carefully as he lit the lighter which produced a pale blue flame. It was as if he was only there to smoke the cigarette.
"You love her so much. Didn't she force you to withdraw the case against Xu Yichen?"
"No. I'm not good to her."
Ning Tangxi's heart grew colder. She shook her head as tears continued streaming down her face. "How are you bad to her?"
"She's not happy."
Ning Tangxi choked on her tears when she heard his words. "What if she wants to leave you in the future?"
"There's no future."
Ning Tangxi did not understand the meaning of his words, nor did she understand how heavy those three words were. However, she was stunned. When she saw Huo Nanchen turn around and leave, she quickly remembered what she wanted to tell him.
"Nanchen, would you believe me if I told you that I found news about Yue Cheng?"
Huo Nanchen stopped in his tracks and turned around. He narrowed his cold eyes. "What did you just say?"
When she saw his reaction, Ning Tangxi concluded that Huo Nanchen had plans to get rid of her and Cheng Xi. After all, they were the ones hindering his so-called happiness with Gu Ruochu.
Ning Tangxi sneered in her heart, but she maintained a serious expression on her face.
"Yang Ziyu and I have found out that Yue Cheng isn't dead. He might even be somewhere in Nan Cheng."
Who would have thought that the disfigured man who had been dumped in the river was still alive?
Huo Nanchen let out a sigh of relief when he heard the news. His hands began to shake uncontrollably.
If Yue Cheng was still alive, Huo Nanchen would finally return Ning Tangxi and Cheng Xi to him. He would be free of his responsibilities and the promise he had made to him back then.

Gu Ruochu waited for Huo Nanchen in the car for around ten minutes. She was anxious as she tried to figure out what the two of them were talking about.
She hugged her phone and was not in the mood to continue playing her videogames.
"Madam, the Young Master is back."
As soon as Uncle Wang spoke, Gu Ruochu saw Huo Nanchen's tall figure walking towards the car. She immediately turned around and pretended to be looking at her phone as Huo Nanchen sat next to her.
"Are you done talking? Let's go then."
"Yes, let's go."
Gu Ruochu thought about Yang Xi and Ning Tangxi as she leaned against Huo Nanchen's shoulder and closed her eyes to rest. After much thought, she concluded that if Yang Xi was to succeed in getting rid of Yang Ziyu, it was likely that another man would have to marry her.
Yang Nuo appeared to trust his adopted son completely. If Yang Xi fell into his hands, Gu Ruochu was afraid that she would not have an easy time in the future.
Huo Nanchen suddenly leaned towards her and bit her ear before addressing her in a fierce voice, "You're not allowed to swear in front of others. Next time, I'll teach you a lesson."
"I'm used to it."
Gu Ruochu remembered that she had indeed used a curse word while she was at the Yang family home. However, she felt disgusted by Huo Nanchen's remarks. "If you men can swear, so what if a woman swears once in a while? All of you men are the same. Your double standards are like a male cancer."
"You can say it in front of me." Huo Nanchen lowered his voice as he whispered, "Seeing you swear was very seductive."
Gu Ruochu's body stiffened. She looked at the vile expression on his face and gritted her teeth in anger.
