When Jin Lin completed her observation, everyone burst into laughter.
"This woman is too cheap. How did she get such a good man to marry her when she's such a slut? Good women like us aren't willing to accept this. She doesn't care about morals and chastity!"
Everyone was shocked, and the women present were even angrier. They had heard many romantic stories about couples from rich families.
When she saw that they all had a bad impression of Gu Ruochu, Jin Li's malicious eyes were filled with joy and satisfaction.
Just as she was engrossed in the conversation, a colleague suddenly looked at her watch and said, "It's time to get off work. Let's go eat first."
Even though they had not heard enough gossip, eating was still more important.
Jin Li was still joyful after being the source of attention during the chit chat with her co-workers. She had not expected to see a burly man walking towards her as soon as she and her female colleagues went downstairs. His entire body was filled with a murderous aura.
Jin Li's expression changed instantly. She raised her legs and ran in the opposite direction.
"Stinking b*tch, stop right there!"
Jin Li could not outrun him. He grabbed her, and after a few hits, she fell to the ground. Her knee hit the floor first as she fell.
Jin Li felt a sharp pain and her lips turned white.
The female colleague next to her was stunned. She was so scared that she took out her phone to call the police. However, she heard the man kick her. "This woman is my wife. I have a marriage certificate. Call the police. I will sue her for lying about our marriage and let her rot in jail!"
"You're talking nonsense. Jin Li is single!"
The female colleague argued on the side, however, she was starting to believe him.
"Single? I can even describe the mole on her chest!"
Jin Li had always prided herself as a single woman. Usually, she would be flirtatious with her male colleagues. They did not expect that she was actually married. Jin Li hated Zhang Li to death. She had never anticipated that this man would find her after she had escaped to the city. He had even ruined her reputation!
"Zhang Li, I want to divorce you!"
It had not been easy for her to escape, but this jinx of a man had eventually found her. Jin Li felt a sense of despair.
"All right, I'll sue you for cheating!" Zhang Li was so angry that he slapped her hard. "B*tch, your daughter doesn't have enough milk to drink at home. Yet here you are, pretending to be a decent person and seducing men everywhere. Are you that cheap?"
Zhang Li beat her until she cried, and half of her face was numb from the pain.
It was time to get off work, and many people watched the scene as they passed by. They gestured at her in excitement.
Jin Li wanted to dig a hole in the ground and hide in it, but she could only cry. The more she cried, the louder she became. She grabbed a colleague's leg and sobbed, "I don't want to go back with him. I don't want to!"
This man was ugly and had a bad temper. She would die!
Zhang Li was out of control. He grabbed her with one hand and slapped her twice. "B*tch, you said you don't want to go back! So you don't want to go back?"
"No, I'm just begging you." Jin Li shook her head. She guessed that someone was taking revenge on her. Everybody knew who she had offended. That man must have found out what she was most afraid of.
In the end, Jin Li's husband dragged her away.

Xu Yichen burst into laughter as he told Gu Ruochu about Jin Li's predicament.
"Tell me, how do you plan to deal with Gu Yanwei next?"
"Aside from following Wang Xin, she doesn't have any scenes to film. She doesn't have any other jobs. It's enough for her to suffer." Gu Ruochu had yet to come up with a concrete plan, and she did not have any evidence against her.
"Aren't you going to pick up your husband at the airport?"
"He didn't tell me about his specific flight."
She had begged him not to leave, but he had still left. Even though she knew the outcome, she could not help but urge him to stay. Gu Ruochu thought about how much the mother and son meant to him, and her heart ached as if it had been pricked by a needle.
"Then you should take the initiative to ask."
Xu Yichen felt that something was not right between the couple. He furrowed his brows at Gu Ruochu. "Didn't you open your hearts to each other? What's wrong now?"
