Chereads / The Cardboard Explorer / Chapter 58 - Chapter 58

Chapter 58 - Chapter 58

Cade hid on the tree and he sighed. He thought he will be staying inside the dungeon for three days and thus, he only brought three days' worth of food. He never thought that the time inside the dungeon was different.

He will be inside the dungeon for more than a month and that was a huge problem. He needed to eat and he did not know what he should eat.

The Boarman looked a lot like human and it will be disgusting eating them. Cade remembered that the system asked to collect herbs and plants and he thought maybe he can eat those things.

However, plants and meat were different. Cade loves eating meat and it will be a torture to him without any meat he can eat.

He knew he can live well even without meat but he was not use to that. While Cade was worrying about his food, he saw birds flying around. He stared at them without blinking and then he realized something.

The World Dungeon was totally different compare to the normal dungeon. Normal dungeon was just a plain, empty boring cave but there were trees, sky, cloud, wind and many more in the World Dungeon.

The world dungeon was like a normal planet that humans live. That meant there will be lots of resources lying around and that include meat. Cade remembered the many gathering mission from the system and he skipped most of them.

He checked again and there were indeed missions of gathering animals. Looking at that, Cade sighed in relieved. He did not need to worry about food anymore.

Cade still did not know the real reason the system gave the mission to gather everything in the world dungeon but he thought maybe he will do it for the system.

The system was the one responsible for giving human the power to fight monsters and he thought why not helping the system for once.

Cade had made his decision and then he remembered that he had leveled up. "That boarman must be higher level than me," thought Cade.

That meant he had free stat points he can use on his stats. He can also strengthen his equipment too.

Cade opened his stats and he found out that the limit of his stats had increased. From 200 to 220. Cade nodded. He did not need to worry about the limit on his stat. It will increase when he leveled up.

However, when Cade looked at his luck, he was surprised that the limit had increased too. The limit was not 101 anymore but 110.

"Why is the luck limit increase???" Cade did not know what happened. He thought that the luck stat limit was 101 but now it had increased to 110.

"Is it because I level up after the system updated?" Cade wondered. He thought that maybe the luck limit can be increased now when he leveled up and it was thanks to the system update before.

Cade stared at his luck and he had 20 stat points he can use to increase his stat. "Should I increase my luck?... No, no! This place is dangerous and I better increase my endurance and vitality stat!"

"If I increase my luck this time, I might end up like before with the humanoid toad. I don't want to die yet!" said Cade as he tried his best to stop his urged of increasing his luck.

"…but I have a good feeling about this. My endurance is good enough at the moment to help me going through this dungeon and I only need 9 stat points to max my luck. I will have another 11 extra points I can use on my other stat," said Cade trying to give himself reason to max his luck.

Cade moved his hand slowly to distribute his stat points on his luck. His hand was shaking as he was nervous if he made the right decision. His mind said no but his heart said yes. In the end, he decided to follow his heart.

In the end, he used 9 stat points and maxed his luck and the other 11 stat points on his vitality. Cade sighed in relief as he had finally done what he wanted. He cannot reverse it anymore.

And then, Cade suddenly smiled. There was a reason for his smile. Cade had actually a few complete colored butterfly figures he had not yet used and now that he leveled up, he can use one of them.

He took out a blue butterfly complete figure and it was D grade. Cade did not want to absorb E grade figure anymore as it was a waste. He had a limit on how much he can absorb and it was better to absorb the best one.

Cade absorbed the D grade blue butterfly complete figure and got himself another 40 stat points. Cade put 20 stat points on his endurance maxing it to 220 and another 20 on his vitality increasing it to 209.

"That is my last D grade complete figure I have," said Cade as he had no more supply of D grade complete figure he can use.

The Boarman did not drop anything and there was nothing he can do. He cannot get magic crystals, equipment, skill books and puzzle. He cannot get anything from the Boarman.

Luckily, he supplied himself with lots of magic crystal so that he can strengthen his linked equipment. Though, there was not many of them.

Now that he was unable to get any magic crystal, Cade needed to plan well on how he should strengthen his linked equipment.

After careful consideration, Cade decided to strengthen his cardboard round shield, cardboard short sword and cardboard body armor.

Until he can find a way of getting magic crystal in the World Dungeon, he decided to prioritize the three linked equipment.

Cade also wanted to try increasing the iron stat. He had lots of iron magic crystal but he was unable to use them due to the level limit.

Cade used one iron magic crystal and increased the iron stat of his cardboard sword. The iron stat did increase and he thought it will increase by ten like the other stat but unfortunately, one iron magic crystal only increased the iron stat by one point.

Cade used a level 5 iron magic crystal but the level was useless. It was still count as one iron magic crystal.

However, something else surprised him. Not only his iron stat increased, the attack and durability of the sword also increased but not by 1 stat point like the iron stat but 10 stat points.

Cade almost screamed with joy but refrained himself from making any noise as he was afraid that he will attract unwanted attention.

"This iron stat is really great. Luckily, I choose this stat to add to my linked equipment," said Cade happily. He decided to use four more iron magic crystal to his cardboard short sword and its level increased to 11.

With that level increased, Cade was unable to use more magic crystal to strengthen his sword. Cade took out his cardboard sword and realized something and he gulped.

"I should not increase more of the iron stat after this until I increase more of my strength," said Cade while he lifted his cardboard sword.

He lightly swung the sword and he can feel that the sword was slightly heavier than before. "This is really a problem. Not only this but there is other problem too," said Cade.

Cade had realized something a while ago after he put the iron stat on his cardboard equipment. His cardboard equipment did become sturdier than before and he thought that its weakness with water and fire had gone too but they were still there.

His cardboard equipment did not become immune to water and fire. They did resist them better than before but his cardboard was still a cardboard.

He realized that his newly upgraded cardboard equipment became heavier and heavier the more he killed the monsters.

Cade later realized that the equipment had been slowly absorbing the blood of the monster and in turn became heavier and at some point, the durability of his cardboard equipment started decreasing too.

Cade did some test and their weakness to water and fire was still there. Cade thought that the properties of iron had applied to his cardboard but it did not work like that.

"One of the best things about my cardboard is that they are light but with its weakness to water and fire is still there and now it can become heavier… that is bad," thought Cade and he sighed.

He made it possible for his cardboard equipment to resist water and fire better but he added more weakness if he increased the iron stat.

Cade scratched his head as he got a headache now. "I wonder if I increase more of the iron stat, will my cardboard become iron?" thought Cade but he decided to dismiss that idea as he feared that it won't work like that.
