It was twelve-o-clock in the morning on the winter solstice. The year... there were no years now, only day after agonizing day. The gods had disappeared last... oh, who knows when. All anybody knew was that they were gone, never to return.

With the gods gone, the world was thrown into chaos, and so the sun and the moon stepped up, one ruling the people by day and the other by night. Oh, but hold on, don't get me wrong the sun and the moon were NOT friends, they despised each other, which made it hard to rule equally.

Now, back to the morning of the winter solstice, it was known that the king and queen of the moon were going to have a child. On that very morning a princess was born. She had lovely velvet hair, skin as white and smooth as a porcelain doll, and her eyes were gentle and light blue like an early morning sky.

It also happened that the king and queen of the sun had had a dashing baby boy on the summer solstice earlier that year. He had his father's eyes, intelligent and yellow, his hair a light pinkish color, and tan skin.

Then there's me, I was born on the fall equinox, I have rich auburn hair, turquoise eyes, and light tan skin. I'm the narrator of this story. I'm the product of hate, betrayal, bloodshed, and love and I'm about to tell you the whole story.
