Winters basement,
After recovering his vision which was blurred for a while, Dev looked up and saw Davis still standing with his hands in his pocket, looking dashing as always even with his unkempt appearance.
Staring at the face that didn't change much after 18 years, he was brought back to the time when Princess chose Davis over him, several times.
He didn't see anything wrong in pursuing Princess even though everyone in The Cube knew of their relationship, at least she wasn't married yet. But then he heard that she got pregnant, that made him lose his senses, he destroyed his room severally but that still didn't calm his anger towards both of them.
He hated them to the very core.
Remembering those times, he became so angry and tried to move close to the barrier cell to taunt Davis further, but was sent flying back unto the wall with a powerful electrical surge through his body.
'Did I get too close to the laser?' he thought to himself whilst coughing. The barrier usually became visible with a white light when it senses the presence of people close to it but he didn't notice it.
Trying to get back up on his feet, he realised that Ann was sitting on the floor and had a horrified expression on her face which suddenly made him have a very bad feeling.
Snapping his head back at Davis, he saw Davis standing, yes standing just like before but Jeremy...
Using his eyes to scan around the room, he finally noticed that something was wrong.
"Oh my, we have a storm coming., Jeremy said looking out at the sky.
Finding the source of the voice, Dev realised that Jeremy was leaning with his arms crossed against the open big metal gate he came in through minutes ago.
"It's funny Albert, how you didn't realise that the laser beam gate was deactivated for a full 5 minutes. Looks like you really didn't do your homework properly or was it your informant who didn't do his or....hers? Hmmn...it seems we have a rat here in Platinum Valleys?" Jeremy tilted his head and asked with narrowed eyes.
"Wha...How? Don't call me that! What did you do?!", Dev ignored Jeremy and yelled as he walked towards the laser beam again, only to be flung against the wall for the second time.
Seeing Dev being flung against the wall the second time, Jeremy sighed, "Anyways, as the nice guy that I am, I'll fill you in on how the hunter became the hunt-ee." Jeremy smiled as he adjusted his position on the gate.
"Hunted.", Davis corrected, rolling his eyes at Jeremy's self acclamation of things he was definitely not.
'Nice? I don't think so.', Davis thought.
"Did you really have to correct me, Dave?" Jeremy asked as he gave Davis a side glance for correcting him.
"And besides he isn't the hunted anymore, he has been caught and in quite a shocking manner at that." Jeremy chuckled demonstrating how Dev was sent flying few minutes ago.
Dev whose body was currently filled with electricity, didn't even have the energy to feel any emotions at that moment.
All he could do was listen to what they had to say as he recovered from the 'shock' while Ann kept looking towards the metal gate, hoping for the arrival of S6 or S8.
"I-"
"You know Al, I've always considered you a friend, even when you told your dad all those hateful things about me, I never for once used that against you." Davis started, thinking about all the things Dev had said to him today, it seemed it was time to finally deal with the Marsons.
"Cause if I did, you won't be alive to display such drama in my territory." he continued as he clenched his fists.
Jeremy who was about to complain from being interrupted, stared at his clenched fists and knew Davis was really trying to hold in his anger.
He just wanted to release the tension a little by making unnecessary comments but he knew Davis was really in haste to get to Penny.
"And as for how you're on the OTHER side of the cell...take a guess." Davis taunted with the edge of his mouth pulled upwards in a sneer, as he used Dev's words against him.
He didn't do much actually, he just used Dev's lack of concentration to his own advantage.
When the invisible laser beam barrier got deactivated, he had waited for a while to know if Dev was aware however, he wasn't so he grabbed him using his super-speed and threw him and his scientist into the cell, while Jeremy activated the barrier again using some kind of code on the panel.
He still wondered how Dev pulled this whole raid 'parade', as he'd call it, together but what he really wanted, was to get to Penny and immediately at that.
The same thing he tried to prevent years back, came back to haunt him like a shadow after 18 years, which he still couldn't believe.
Thinking about this, his eyes fell on the woman clad in a lab coat and pencil skirt, who carried the experiment out on his daughter,
"Where is Penny?" he asked as calmly as he could which couldn't hide the nervousness in his shaky voice.
"I...I... left her in the laboratory." Ann meekly replied pointing towards Winters.
"What floor?! We can't search all the rooms in Winters now, can we?" Jeremy asked this time, seeing Davis with his eyes closed, about to lose control of his emotions.
'We already know she's in the laboratory, damn it!' he thought.
"Th..the si...xth floor." Ann stammered as she stole a glance at Dev who was still immobile.
Davis was about to say something else, when someone walked in.
"Chill Davis, it's T," Thomas said to Davis who was already in front of him, ready to knock him out, in the blink of an eye.
