Silently without making any noise, Oslo headed inside the forest in search for the location of goblins nest, unlike another idiot who was making noise with every step he took.
"Will you take off that armor already? If it alerts goblins then it will ruin my plan of catching them off guard.
"But if I take off this armor then how am I going to guard myself?" Alphonse responded.
"Then don't make it produce any sound."
"OK, that is I can do." Alphonse said as his armored got covered in dazzling light for a moment. He then tried waving his hand and walking which surprisingly didn't make any sound.
"If you could do it sooner then why didn't you do it before?"
"That..." Alphonse said," You said I need to muster courage so I thought if I face them head on with my armor making noises, it'll attract even more of them making my courage increase by leaps and bounds."
"This guy..." Oslo's mouth twitched.
There are no medicine for idiocy, I guess. Oslo then without looking back again started walking forward. Alphonse then asked, "Why is your eyes golden now? Wasn't it black when we first met? Was that black eye of yours because of colored contact lenses?"
Golden eyes? I have golden eyes right now?
He sighed as it didn't surprise him anymore. After the incident with that dragon, he was hardly surprised because of many chances that occurred to his body after that. He also placed the golden eyes as one of those changes.
Maybe his eyes changed because of his skill, he thought. No wonder I could see auras, it was because of my eyes turning golden. He then said, "This is my original eyes and the eyes from before as you mentioned was because of colored contact lenses."
"I thought as much because this golden eyes suits you better than those black eyes. Why do you even wear colored contacts?" Alphonse asked.
Now he had acknowledged that Oslo wasn't very weak and didn't consider Oslo beneath him, he was fine from following Oslo from behind. He thought of Oslo as one of the person who were stronger than him... because if one didn't have courage to release their strength then being strong didn't mean anything.
Oslo didn't want to talk about the apps anymore and changed the topic, "From what I saw earlier, does your magic have the ability to suppress sounds?"
"It's something like that but not quite accurate. If I were to describe it then I can use my magic to completely silence any sounds coming from my body." Alphonse said.
"Does it include farts as well?"
"Yes," Alphonse nodded, "I can even silence far- Don't make me say that!"
"What else can it do?" Oslo immediately asked.
"Well, I can use it to silence others as well but it has a limit of ten seconds ." Alphonse replied.
"That's an unique and useful ability you have." Oslo said in admiration.
"You're just impressed about the fart part, aren't you?"
"No,no. It's very useful, I mean it." He said letting out a small laugh.
"Wait! Did you just laugh? You laughed, didn't you?" Alphonse said with a red face in embarrassment, "Don't laugh!"
"SSSH-" Oslo used his index finger to seal Alphonse's lips and gazed at distant place. Seeing the clear image, both hid behind a tree and slowly tilted their heads to peek wilderness.
There was a cave in front of of them, covered in mist. In front of the entrance of the cave, there were two goblins equipped with spears. They could already guess that it was from where the goblin came from. It must be their nest.
Oslo could see that it was because of the dungeon that had opened in the wilderness which was in the middle of nowhere. It was located five hundred meters opposite from the village and the cave wasn't much taller than three meters. Oslo whispered,
"You take care of one and I'll take care of the other."
Alphonse nodded with a pale face and stood hidden in the shadow of the tree. Oslo still had his skill Erase under effect so he knew that unless the goblins saw him, they couldn't detect him.
The distance between them and the cave was roughly around thirty meters and after few trees letting Oslo hide, there weren't any trees for the thirty meter radius of the cave. The goblins were well prepared for sneak attack one could attempt after hiding in the shadows so they had cut those trees letting no place to hide.
If Oslo directly attacked them then, even if he was able to deal with the goblins easily, there was no guarantee that other on the inside wouldn't know of their presence. If he was to be found out, his plan of surprisingly crashing the party would fail.
So he had decided on another approach. Like a natural assassin, he ran behind the cave without letting others to know that he was there. He had decided to attack from the back of the cave.
Climbing the small slope, he reached atop the cave and with his gold eyes, he glanced below at the goblins which were just three meters under him.
Goblins below him still had next to no idea that someone was above the cave and was staring at them with murderous eyes. They just occasionally looked every direction with exception to above and below.
Oslo then fiddled with the dagger he had taken from the goblin which had killed the elder and looked at the direction where Alphonse was, gesturing to make his move. Alphonse had noticed his gesture and inhaled a deep breath.
With a soft step, he came out of his hiding place, revealing himself in front of the goblins. In such plain land, he was in the eye sight of both of the goblins. But as if no energy was left in his body, he fell in the ground with his back facing sky.
Goblins were alerted with sudden movement and had aimed their spears towards intruder but seeing Alphonse fall like that, they were confused. Not only the goblins, the one standing above them was also surprised. What was this idiot doing again?
He must have some kind of plan...if he doesn't like the last time, I'll kill him personally.
The goblins noticing the fallen Alphonse talked to each other in their own language. After the conversation was over, one of the goblin grinned and and headed towards Alphonse with its spear still aimed at him. The other goblin still stood in front of the cave, alerted so that if there was any weird movement then it was going to inform others.
Seeing Alphonse still lying in the ground, Oslo was confused but he had to do his work. His target was the goblin below him which was ready to alert others. The goblin reached in front of Alphonse and raised its spear targeting his heart.
Oslo jumped down of the cave and landed nimbly behind the goblin which was and with one hand, he covered it mouth and used his another hand to slash its neck using the dagger.
[Ordinary Magic Beast (Rank D) Goblin killed. Magic core was not obtained]
Blood gushed out of its neck as Oslo dragged it to the side of the cave.
The spear struck Alphonse' armor from back with the intention to tear his heart apart only to shatter into pieces. The goblin was alarmed when it saw its weapon broke from the collision but what surprised it was the fact that the collision didn't make any noise.
It then looked towards the cave to signal the goblin to alarm the others but it was greeted by the corpse of its friend which was bleeding green blood from its neck. With no option, it tried to shout just for the hope of letting others know, but just as it was about to speak, white light surrounded its body and no cry left its mouth.
It tried running towards the cave but...
Stab-
A long sword pierced through its heart. Alphonse at the back had his hands still shaking as he gasped for his breath. It was his first kill ever since he entered the Magic Land and just to pull it off, he had to muster up a lot of courage.
Slowly he pulled out his sword as the corpse of the goblin fell at the ground without motion. A pool of blood was formed around its dead body and the sword long as an arm was covered in the same green blood.
He then slowly maintained his composure and calmed his beating heart. Standing gently, he walked towards Oslo and whispered, "What do we do now?"
A smile formed on his lips as Oslo said, "Let's give those bastards some surprise!"
Saying that, he entered the cave as Alphonse followed him from back. Although all they could see from the outside of the cave was mist, after entering the cave, there was no doubts in their mind. It was from where the goblins came from.
It was their lair.
Goblins Lair!
Entering the dungeon, they were greeted with quite familiar scene, and it was darkness that stretched as far as eyes could see. Outside of the dungeon and inside of the dungeon was complete different world. The sounds that they couldn't hear from outside the dungeon, they could hear it now.
The cave was echoing with the voice of laughter and screams. The whole cave reeked of blood and its stench filled the air. There was also the hidden gift of rotten body's smell. Covering his nose with one hand, he put the dagger away and made a flame in his palm which lighted the path in front of them.
Although adventurers could see through the dark, it was possible for them to miss magic beasts hiding in the shadow of darkness for an ambush. Light inside a pitch black dungeon was a double edge sword.
It would let them see in the dark, yes, but enemies would also discover their position. Some magic beasts were light sensitive, so if one were to light a torch in the dungeon, the magic beasts would be able to easily locate them.
With the green torch guiding them, Alphonse and Oslo walked inside the tunnel in alert as if not to miss a single abnormalities. On their way, they were greeted by some rotting corpse where insects were feeding on and some human skeletons which were long since dead but, they hadn't seen any goblins whatsoever.
After five minutes of walk, they were finally able to see something. There were three caves inside of cave.
Seeing the three different ways, they halted on their step as Oslo frowned as to decide which cave they should enter.
