Chapter 1 - chapter 1

Stella

Hi. Name's Stella Whites. Everyone calls me Stells or just Stella. I'm a werewolf. My parents are Alpha and Luna of our pack, The Blue Ocean Pack.

The name sounds weird.. I know, but bare with me. Anyways, I'm 16. I have brown hair, blue eyes. I shifted just 2 weeks ago and I found out my wolf is this beautiful red brown, with a silver streak. I mean I have alpha blood in me, that's it. That's all special about me.

So, tomorrow's the day that I finally turn 17. Also, it's the day I find my mate. Sadly. But of course, I shall grant my family's wishes and find a good mate. Whatever that means. Anywho.. Usually, on mine or Jake's —my brother— birthday, mom and dad are always spoiling us, rotten.

I scoff.

I am currently in my room, studying. I'm an Alpha's daughter and I still have to study for a big final tomorrow. Isn't this just fun? You thought I get privilege, too? Just because some spice is running through my blood, doesn't mean I don't go to school.

Since we are Alphas, we live in the Alpha house. My room is pretty big. I mean, it has a nice purple pastel wall paint. A beautiful white drape over my bed and of course, my very own vanity and walk in closet. Wasn't kidding when I said my parents spoil us rotten.

I hear a knock on my door.

"Come in!" I shout. The door opens and there stands Jake, my older brother.

"Hey. What are you doing? Mom's been calling you to come downstairs," he complains. I roll my eyes, continuing to memorize this word in my head for the tenth time.

"Goddess, you are so much like mom..," I mumble, trying to remember the word, perfidiousness. He steps into my room, walking to my bed and sitting on the edge.

"So, what were you thinking about?" he ask, giving me the knowing look. OK, Mr. Obvious. I shrug, pretending I didn't see his face expression.

"Tomorrow, and finding my mate," I respond.

"You know, your mate will come around. Just you wait," he nudges my shoulder and sits on the edge of the bed.

See, Jake's like this overprotective brother. He's the soon to be Alpha anyways, but still, he doesn't have to take care of me. I can do it myself.

"I know, I'm just nervous," I reply, forcing a laugh. He nods, understanding. Jake gets off my queen bed, walking to the door.

"Oh, and you better come down to eat. I swear mom will cut my head off." I can hear him gulp deeply and hear his heart pounding fast. I laugh to myself, shaking my head.

He was close to closing the door when I shout, "NO PROMISES, HAMILTON!"

I hear a growl, then the door closes. I laugh, getting off my bed, walking towards the door.

"Hey. What's for dinner?" I ask, as I enter the big dining room that is for no reason because we barely have guest. My mom turns towards my direction. She flashes a smile.

"We're having spaghetti tonight."

I nod and start walking over to my seat, which Jake's seat was next to. Mom and Dad would be across from us. The food was already placed on the table. I lick my lips.

"Mm.. That looks good."

"Taste good too," Jake muffles. I turn around. He was already shoving spaghetti in his mouth.

"MOM!" I yell.

"What?" she yells back. I point towards Jake. He immediately stops shoving spaghetti in his mouth.

"What?" he muffles, food still in his mouth.

"HAMILTON! You're not supposed to eat, yet!" Mom yells in her Luna tone. I gulp, throat so dry.

"You're so dead." I mind link Jake.

"Shut up!" he defends himself, but fails terribly.

"Okay.. Hamilton," I snicker, teasing him even more. He glares at me.

"Now, son you know better," Dad says, giving Jake the knowing look. Jake rolls his eyes.

"Urgh. I was hungry," he groans. I roll my eyes, ignoring his whining.

"Hello, father. How are you?," I ask, batting my lashes and smiling sweetly at my dad.

"Good afternoon, sweet heart. I've been running crazy errands. Trying to get this trouble maker to not be a trouble maker and have him be ready to take the role of an Alpha leader. If he's actually up for it," he says, giving a low growl to Jake when Jake isn't about to steal some more food. Jake backs off and glares at his plate. There was some sauce around his lips. Gross.

I smile at my dad. "Oh, I hope that's going well, father."

He looks up at me and raises his brow. "Ah, yes. I hope it goes well for us and our pack, too, Stella. But how are you, dear? How is my little girl doing? Are finals treating you right?"

He really has the audacity to ask.

"Oh, father. If this blood of an alpha actually gave me a privilege to not go to school, I wouldn't be as miserable as I am right now. Finals give me the worst pain. I don't think another will match this," I say, sulking because I hate—double hate school and how the teachers treat us. Pushing us around like we're dogs.

My mom comes back, with the salad bowl.

"Dig in!" she cheers. Soon we all started digging in.

"Honey. Tomorrow's your seventeenth birthday. You know what that means," Mom smirks, raising her brows. She reaches for my hand and grips it.

"What does it mean?" my dad says, looking up from his spaghetti. Mom smacks his arm. He glares at her. My mom grins and kisses his cheek.

"She's gonna find her mate!"

"Oh, right," Dad sarcastically says. I roll my eyes.

"Father, don't be like that. You had to find your mate when you came of age also. Isn't that right, mom?" I retort.

"Baby, let me tell you. Your father was crazy for me. He's one to talk. So don't let him stop you, alright? Just know you have m-"

"Our blessing, child," my dad responds, giving me that cheeky smile.

I was nervous as hèll. Now that I have my family's support, who knows how this'll end. I know that I just have a bad feeling about this.
