Chapter 14 - Chapter 14: The F-word

"Status Report."

Lucia Mayfield, the "Lion" of the B.S.S. eyed her black-haired subordinate, Kayle Faragus as the former leaned her adoring face on her hand.

The Dragon could only gape in astonishment, like a fish out of the water.

"What are you doing here Lucy? I was expecting another agent to brief him in the happenings and certainly not the head herself. Don't you have, you know... an 'animal' organization to run?"

The blonde head of the Dawn Branch simply chuckled in response to the agent's puzzled expression.

"Normally yes. This is the job commonly being assigned to our mutual friend Rat, but he seems to be preoccupied at the moment. With me always being confined inside that depressing office of mine and listening to Chameleon's outlandish bickering every single day of the week, I guess its about high time that I breath some fresh air and engage in a more.... hands-on approach." Lucia responded as Kayle merely smiled in response, finding the woman in front of him to be the restless Agent that he knows too well.

"I see. Chameleon sure loves to prattle, a bit too much to my liking some times. Even Ant wonders where all that bubbly cheerfulness comes from despite being trained to be one of the best killers and infiltrators that the Brotherhood has ever produced." Kayle said while taking a sip from his glass of Ale.

And speaking of liquor, the glass of champagne ordered by Lucia finally arrived, courtesy of the blonde bartender, Jack.

"Your order milady." The bartender gracefully handed the liquor to Lucia with a gallant smile.

The blonde woman giggled rather cutely and gratefully took the glass on Jack's hands.

Kayle though was cringing at the scene before his eyes.

Lucia turned to her subordinate, a sly smirk crept on her beautiful face "Do I smell jealousy? The Black Wyvern jealous?"

Jack then joined the conversation with a playful grin "Yeah Kayle. It seems that you know this lovely young lady. Why didn't you introduce her to me before?"

Kyle raised his finger as he pointed some facts "One; you never asked and two; you are wrong about one thing: Lucia, my ever so Blondie friend here is anything but 'young'. In fact, she is-"

The black-haired mercenary was not even spared a single ounce of mercy to finish his sentence as Lucia, fury evident on her once angelic face now showing as her long flowing hair escalated, one resembling a demon whose only sole purpose is the end of life.

Well in this scenario, the life of a certain Dragon that is.

Lucia comically punched Kayle on the top of his head, the latter now sporting a funny huge bump.

"AWWW!!!! What the hell was that you stupid old hag!!??" Kayle clutch his head in pain, tears flowing with a rather funny expression.

"I dare you to finish that sentence!!! And you dare have the audacity to call me old?!!" Lucia was shown to be twitching with pure annoyance.

"Of course you are!!! 36 does not exactly fall in the definition of young right?"

And once more, but this time, a bitch slap was delivered on the Dragon's face, sending the man skyrocketing a few feet away as the other customers gave way to Lucia who approached Kayle groaning in pain on the ground.

"I'm 32 you buffoon!!!!"

Jack could only shake his head in amusement at the two adults in their childish scuffle. Lucia was now shown to be on top of Kayle as the former was gripping on the collar of the latter's suit jacket.

Cleared his throat to get their attention, Jack said: "Hmm correct me if I'm wrong but I sense a 'husband and wife, old couple quarrel' vibe going on around here."

In response, both Agents in disguise shared a look of horror, their faces looking like they are about to puke at any moment.

"Her? W-Who would want to marry this barbaric amazon!??"

"Y-Yeah!!! No woman would ever want to be with a drunk pathetic imbecile like him!!!"

"I would~" One woman from the crowd voiced out with a seductive voice.

Both look at the woman for a moment and agreed to pretend that they never heard that.

Jack could only chuckle at the hilarity currently on the go.

'Yup, something is definitely going on between those two lovebirds.'

The patrons of the bar could only witnessed the whole comical scene in dumbfound, their faces eyeing them with a judgmental look as they make sure not to get involve between those two raging middle-aged lunatics.

Inside the shopping mall, somewhere at the New Moon District of Twilight City, our favorite student trio of Rosemary are shown to be just walking around leisurely. All three of them carrying shopping bags filled with different kinds of clothing, shoes, and accessories, purchased from different shops and boutiques, including the one that they were in moments ago.

"Now this is the life ladies!!! Clothes, jewelry, shoes. I can't wait to have my very own mini fashion show back in our dorms." Keana happily stated, then an idea suddenly struck within her. "Oh how about we have our very own fashion show in my dorm!!! Like a second slumber party, we are going to have so much fun!! A dress rehearsal, manicuring and pedicuring each other and then-"

Rin and Meiko could only smile sheepishly at their violet-haired friend who seemingly thinks that the world is going to end if she stops chattering.

The blue-haired boy though was seen to be feeling down the dumps. After all, he was forced to spend a significant amount of his current savings on clothes that he sure as hell won't be wearing in the near future.

Meiko was feeling the same, but for reasons different as her thoughts were drawn at the red sheath dress that she missed because of how ridiculously expensive it is. On the bright side, she was able to buy a lot of clothes at reasonable prices.

"Damn she can't stop talking can't she?" Rin said as he whispered to Meiko.

Meiko nodded as she giggled "Yeah, but she isn't Keana Blakes if she ain't talkative."

Keana, grin still on her face eyed on a cafe in front of them "All that shopping sure is exhausting. Let's refuel ourselves with some desserts and tea!!"

Agreeing with their violet-haired friend, The three entered the cafe, an establishment known as the "Sunshine Coffee & Tea!!"

The three of them proceeded to take their places on a vacant spot.

"Sunshine Coffee & Tea... I heard this place serves one of the best drinks and cakes in Twilight City." Meiko expressed with a praising tone.

A waitress then gave them their menu and bow down respectfully before leaving.

"So what do you recommend?" Rin asked the orange-haired girl, looking at the different assortment of cakes, parfaits, coffee, tea, and many others.

"Oh I'm going with this one!!" Keana's eyed dazzled at a particular parfait, layered with delectable looking fruits and ice creams mixed in a perfect balance.

After a few minutes, the girls called the waitress and begun to order.

"I'll have the specialty of the house; a slice of Choco-Vanilla Cake Supreme layered with an extra cherry on the top and a Strawberry Frappuccino." Meiko told the waitress, familiar with the dish as evident by the assured tone on her voice.

"I'm going with this one!!!" Keana simply pointed out the picture of the parfait that she was eyeing for quite some time and the Waitress nodded as she wrote down the order. "Oh and also this Black Twilight latte."

Rin contemplates for a bit and told: "I guess an Iced Caffe Twilight and a pack of mini bear munchkins."

"Your order is noted dear customers." The waitress smiled and left.

"Damn it Lucy, do you have to be that rough?"

After the two adults' brawl of some sort, things seemed to finally calm down as Lucia and Kayle are back at the bar counter.

"And you know better than to invoke my ire just like that Faragus." Lucia answered, gulping her champagne.

"Hehehe, you're even more beautiful if angry after all." Kayle grinned and finally finished his 8th glass of Ale.

The blonde's face heats up a bit by what the mercenary just said but merely dismisses it as she finally spoke "B-Back to business... Status Report."

The serious tone on Lucia's face was not gone unnoticed by Kayle, his face now showing that it is now all business "For the past few months, it seems that criminal activity here is growing quite rampant. Almost every day, gang wars are always on the loose, a struggle for the leadership of the Underworld."

"Yes. This is the Underworld after all. Who are on the power spots currently?"

Kayle reaches out his pocket for a cigar "The Big Three seemed to be still on the top. The Gray Hawks, the Phantom Coffin, and our old friend, the Black Blades.

"I see. No change in the power struggles."

"But there are some underrated dogs that we should be keeping our eye on." Kayle lit up his cigar and smoked. "First there's this group that makes use of underhanded tactics that emphasize stealth and subterfuge as they work in the dark. Nothing like the other three who like it big and open. They call themselves the Stray Cats."

"The Stray Cats?" Lucia asked.

Kayle nodded "Yep. They are led by someone, a man who only calls himself... The Boss."

"The Boss. This man sure lacks creativity when it comes to titles." Lucia chuckled.

"I thought the same thing." Kayle smiled. "And the next group. Man this group is far even more secretive than the Stray Cats. The one that I'm currently employed in fact."

Now this caught Lucia's interest "Really? And yet you found nothing about them despite you being a member?"

"Yep." Kayle nodded. "The only thing that I know is that the Death Sisters are also employed in the group, under the leadership by someone known as the Great Leader."

"The Death Sisters." Lucia frowned. "Indeed this seemed to be suspicious, especially this Great Leader that you have mentioned. You have not met him yet?"

"She" Kayle immediately corrected. "The leader I presumed is a she as what the sisters have been referring to her. And sadly, no. Even though I've been performing some jobs for them for quite some time, I did not even get the chance to meet her. It seems that the sisters act as her direct representatives, leading every gang raid and they seemed devoted to her. Too devoted in fact like a blind fanatic especially that Mania."

"Indeed, that sounds dubious." Lucia acknowledged. "So what is this group called?"

Kayle cleared his throat. "They, no... we call ourselves the Revolution."

"Revolution? What is their end goal?" Lucia asked, feeling slightly put off especially the name.

"To be honest, I don't know." Kayle shook his head. "Even the sisters aren't telling me off the agenda, and all we've been doing are secret raids across the minor gangs. We also make sure not to leave any trace and as much as possible, implicate other gangs."

"Secret raids." Lucia muttered. "Are you trying to say that this Revolution, the other gang don't even know of their existence."

"Yes." Kayle said. "We are even more secretive and by secret, we sincerely mean that. This is why I'm doing this Great Leader's, whoever she is, her bidding to earn the group's trust and ultimately meeting this enigma leader of mine."

Lucia pondered, processing the information received by Kayle. After a few seconds, she replied "Good work Kayle. Continue updating us. I'll make sure that this information is sent to Main HQ and inform the Shadow about this."

"Yeah. Old man Shadow knows what to do in this situation after all." Kayle grinned.

"Breaking news." A voice was heard from the T.V. located above as the news reporter prepared to tell the current report.

"This just in, an explosion recently occurred here at Twilight City located in the New Moon District on a local shopping mall nearby. Police are currently surrounding the building in hopes of negotiating with the terrorist on this unfortunate matter."

"Damn." Kayle muttered under his breath. "Twilight city huh. Is that where my best bud Rin is currently on an assignment?"

"Yes, but he is supposed to be guarding Tiger's daughter at school."

"But its Saturday. No school, meaning no students." Kayle retorted.

"Oh but I'm sure that Ant is the type who is not exactly interested in shopping and those kinds of things. So what are the chances?" Lucia answered.

Kayle nodded with a grin. "Meh, I guess you are right."

"ON THE GROUND NOW!!!"

Sunshine Coffee & Tea, now surrounded by two armed men as they pointed their guns on everyone around their vicinity.

The girls, Kana and Meiko were shaking with fear, covering their heads as tears threatened to fall in their eyes and are kneeling on the floor.

But our resident blue-haired cross-dresser, his faced highly unamused by the events currently happening and could only say the word-

"Fuck."
