Chi Enen's eyes turned cold. "My own person?" Was Lin Nai suggesting that she find Li Beijue a mistress?
"I mean someone you can trust completely, someone who won't betray you. Like a relative, or a good friend." She paused, then as if considering Chi Enen's welfare, added, "Relatives are better, blood ties are more trustworthy."
Chi Enen was no fool; she could clearly see what Lin Nai was getting at.
She curled the corner of her mouth, a mocking glint in her eyes as she stared at Lin Nai, "Why don't you just say you want me to arrange for you to be by Li Beijue's side?"
"Enen, I'm thinking of your best interests. Mr. Li is about to enter a marriage alliance, you should plan for your future," Lin Nai said earnestly.
That only earned her an even more mocking gaze from Chi Enen. Under that scornful look, Lin Nai felt utterly exposed and found herself at a loss for words.
