Alexander woke up after a while when he felt like darkness disappearing from his vision, with his senses becoming clear with time, he struggled to gain control over them but it was as if he was not allowed to do that by nature itself. He felt a fierce weight weighing him and his eyelids down.
Fk!
He tried to curse out in frustration and pain but that was impossible too. His curse only echoed in his mind. Bouncing in his mind it amplified, giving him some more strength to struggle.
With all his strength, he struggled like a bull but was only able to open up a slit in his eyes. The light from outside rapidly entered those slits and affected his vision at once.
Grrr!
He groaned in pain and finally realised what the system meant when he said, normal life is near impossible. This experience was just now was already too painful.
While his body is experiencing the crushing pain, he felt his eyes burning when light entered his eyes.
He shut his eyes again, trying to relax and then opening a slit again, in order to let them adjust to the light slowly. This process of opening and closing of eyes went on for about fifteen minutes when he was able to open up his eyes into a comfortable slit, allowing him to see something.
His body was already devoid of energy by then, but he still relaxed as he was able to see the sunlight again.
When he was in the darkness, he felt like an eternity had passed but now he realised looking at his clock that he was in that death space only for a few minutes when he was rescued by the system.
'Huh? Time flows differently in both spaces?'
That was his first thought. But then he thought, what if it was just his perception of time tricking him? That was also possible.
His inner self kicked him when he was about to go into research mode.
Right now more important problems were standing in front of him, rather than this minor question about time.
He survived the self brought calamity, now what next?
How to finish his mission?
More importantly, how the hell he's supposed to get out of here?
These questions were of greatest importance right now. The research about the weird state can wait for some time.
'I need water.' he thought as he prioritised work in his brain. He felt like his throat was being cut open slowly whenever he tried to speak.
He was thirsty, even when he died a few minutes ago, now that he was alive again, he felt a burning desire for water inside him.
He was lying down on the floor with no source of water in sight, anywhere near. Just an empty bottle of water was lying a bit away from him, while a boiling pan of medicine was still there on the induction cooker.
'Sigh. Wasn't this all to improve my body? It actually helped me to die?'
'Should I still drink the medicine? It contains water, right? Maybe it can help me reduce this unbearable pain?'
'Maybe. I should rest first.'
He took a deep breath and then stopped moving. He was trying to relax before he could gain some more strength to move his body, actually, crawl to the cooker and drink the medicine in the cooker.
[ Heh, I feel like you won't be able to do that. ]
While he was trying to rest, the voice of the system came. It was as cold and metallic as always but Alexander felt a sense of gratitude towards this unkind voice.
He didn't curse out this time and asked respectfully, "Why?"
He can see the cooker there and he believed, he can eventually gather energy to crawl till there. But why was this system saying otherwise? Is there something wrong with the medicine?
[Well, something will be wrong with the medicine only if there's medicine left in the cooker.]
"Huh? What happened to my medicine?"
He was shocked when he heard that. Even though his body didn't have much energy, it still jerked a bit.
Did someone steal his precious medicine? Was it Yang Tao or someone else? Someone like… that Luke?
Fk! He fking dared to steal my medicine?
He was about to blow up when System replied again.
[Haiz… I told you, you were smarter when you were half dead. Now you are dumb again. Probably this kid's memories are affecting you too much.]
[No one took your crappy medicine. You fking drunk that to death.]
