Next day at noon.
Theory classes for the day ended and everyone was excited about the next upcoming event, that will start in an hour or so.
Students were chattering in every corner of the classroom, discussing the tactics and plans they had prepared. And, Alexander's group wasn't an exception.
"How many of you are going to participate today?" Elliott took the initiative and asked everyone present on that desk.
Emmy was first to deny and thus, she shook her head, "I won't be going. It's too tiring."
Lucy likewise shook her head in denial of participation. And, there was no need to ask for Hazel. Nobility like her would never participate in events like this, as they don't need to get the attention of higher-ups for future jobs.
"I am going! Nothing can excite me as much as the thrill of battles." Jacob joined. And what can be expected from a battle maniac like Jacob?
Elliott, the questioner himself shook his head and said, "Since my dear Emmy isn't going, how can I go? I'll enjoy my time with her."
Theo laughed a bit, expressing his opinion of joining Elliott in his decision of not joining. Afterall he met his girlfriend just yesterday, how can he leave this free time to consolidate his relationship? And, moreover, his strength wasn't in close combat, rather, he was a master of tactics.
"So only Jacob will be joining the rush, from our group," Elliott announced the final conclusion, tactically leaving Alexander aside. No one ever thought about him, or no one ever expected him to join.
Everyone knew that he was physically weak from the time he joined the academy. Him being able to attend daily classes, in the past month was already a miracle.
Alexander didn't speak anything either. If his friends aren't expecting him to join, then he will just surprise them with his results.
Slowly, the crowd in the classroom started to dissipate. Everyone was on their way to their destination. Just like Alexander's group, not many students from the medical department were participating in the upcoming event of this afternoon.
Everyone got out of the classroom and headed towards the canteen to fill their stomachs.
------------
Campus training ground number 2.
A total of 200 students were gathered in the ground. They were obviously the participants, going to join this event.
Many groups of students were formed throughout the ground. Alexander and Jacob were also present here.
Coincidently, when Alexander entered the training ground, the first character to meet him was Jacob. Both of them just smiled after seeing each other, and didn't speak anything related to joining the event.
"Brother, stay with me. I'll protect you throughout the competition." Jacob offered his help.
Alexander didn't disagree and nodded, after all, his aim was to collect more medicinal herbs from the forest to strengthen himself. The value of the herbs he can get from the forest can easily surpass his current worth.
It's a pity that the event was preponed, or else Alexander would have tried his best to prepare the genetic medicine he wanted to create, to strengthen himself. But, since everything is already like this, he can only agree to Jacob.
It's not shameful to remain in a friend's protection.
At this moment, speakers throughout the training ground were activated and an announcement was made.
"Students joining this year's Inter-Department Rush, gather in front of the stage."
Each of the students who were randomly spread all over the training ground departed towards the massive stage built in the corner.
Alexander and Jacobs likewise went towards the stage and stood in front of it, along with everyone, looking seriously towards the stage and the people stood on the top of it.
"That's Instructor Blake Moore, Chief instructor of the close combat classes." Jacob, being more knowledgeable in these aspects, slowly introduced the teacher currently holding the position at the podium.
"Oh… isn't he your idol then?" Alexander asked. According to what he knew from David; Jacob wanted to be this instructor's private student. Yet, instructor Blake declined due to academy rules, prohibiting anyone to teach students personally.
"Yep! He's the strongest teacher here!" Jacob responded with visible admiration shining in his eyes.
A student just ahead of them, overheard the duo's chat and turned back, "Yep! He's really the strongest person here!" A light of admiration, similar to Jacobs was visible in his eyes too.
Apparently, he was also one of the fans of Instructor Blake Moore. This wasn't a surprise. Inside the academy, one can easily find several fans of Instructor Blake; as only strong people are remembered.
However, when the student suddenly turned back, he created a gap in the massive crowd, revealing someone standing in the crowd. And, coincidently Alexander saw through this gap at that time, his gaze falling on that someone. He smiled.
