Mijoo's face was so red, she felt her whole body was set on fire.
'So I was like one of the popular guys? How did I never know about this.' Daehyun was amazed.
Mijoo understood. It's clear he had no clue whatsoever. 'I said it now. The cat's out of the bag. We may have some clues. Like some sort of a secret door, a code.' Mijoo changed the topic. She knew his answer, so no need to hear him out.
'Mijoo, your feelings...' He got interrupt by Mijoo. 'It's alright. I'm the one who got us into this mess. My own inferiority caused it. You'll be the one to get us out of here. Your answer will probably be the gateway to the present. I'm sorry. You may see it as a curse, a bad luck to be classmates with me. With all this happening, I see it as a failure. I'm the biggest failure.'
Daehyun shook his head. 'You can't think of yourself like that. Why would I see you as a curse or a bad luck. I'll get us out of here. Just trust me.'
Mijoo was about to cry. She rubbed her glassy eyes, straightened her back on the chair. 'We have to get out of here no matter what. It was fun at school, but going over it twice is not healthy.' She cleared her mind. There is only one thing that needs to be done. And that's going back to home.
'You said something earlier about the way you look now and 14 years ago. You do look different now. Does that mean that this is not real?' Daehyun did thought of it the first time they got pushed back in time. 'My appearance does look different. That's why I thought that it must be a dream. A lucid dream. After you told me that it's real. I got confused.'
Mijoo's eyes where painted red. She didn't look fine. 'Are you alright? You look like you are about to faint.'
She grabbed her stomach and let out a moan. The pain is for real. 'Mijoo? Answer me.' It's here again. The horrible cramp, needles in her stomach. 'Quick, thh. Take me to the hospital before I.... Faint.' Not right now. Please, make it stop. Tears came down streaming over her cheeks. How could it happen, even in this stupid dream thingy? The older she got the stronger her body became. Her tolerance is so weak right now. It's all starting again. Her body needs to get used to it again. She will not let it happen. Never.
The waiter rushed over to them. 'What's happening? Why is she in pain? Should we call the ambulance? He panicked. More people came and stood around them. Some called the ambulance. 'Can you stand up?' Daehyun asked. 'It'll be better to wait for the ambulance. I can't let you walk throughout the mall all the way to the hospital. It's to dangerous.' Mijoo nodded her head. Daehyun hold onto her till the emergency team came up. They layed Mijoo on the stretcher and evacuated from the cafe. Daehyun followed them. The moment Mijoo got into the car, she closed her eyes and fainted.
The hospital contacted the parents. It's not the first time this happened. Her mother rushed to the room where Mijoo is staying. Just like always. The doctors didn't know what it is that causes so much pain until she faints. The mother pushed the door. There, here daughter laying on the hospital bed, unconscious.
Daehyun was nervous. They skipped school and went to a cafe. Will the mother yell at him. 'Mijoo?' She was standing next to her bed. Making sure that her daughter is okay. Mijoo was sleeping. Her mother looked at Daehyun and Daehyun looked at the floor. 'Are you my daughter's classmate?' Daehyun nodded his head. 'Did you get scared? It happens once a while. She gets this sudden pain attacks. It worns her out and she eventually faints. It pains me to see her like this. But I'm thankful that you were with her.'
Daehyun was mesmerized at her words. A normal person would have buried him alive. She is even happy that he was with her daughter. She must be an angel. 'We have to help each other, Mijoo's mother. I better get going. Will she be at school tomorrow?' The mother shook her head. 'She'll be resting at home tomorrow.'
Daehyun got up and bowed in an awkward way before leaving the room.
4 hours later the doctor came in to the room. Mijoo was sitting in the bed waiting to be discharged. The doctor told her to take it easy. Her body is sensitive and the pain exhausted her. If she does not rest. She will fall sick.
Mijoo knows that everything is just useless. The pain does not depend on the amount of stress. It is just there, waiting to attack her any time.
Once they arrived at home, she laid in bed. She looked at her phone and there were text messages from Daehyun.
'Have you woken up?'
'Are you alright?'
'Your mother said that you'd be resting tomorrow. See you the day after tomorrow at school.'
It's good for now that they can communicate normally. If this had happened 14 years ago, she would have ignored him completely.
She texted him back.
'I'll probably be at home tomorrow. But if something happens you can send a text message, or call me.'
Daehyun quickly skimmed the text message. He is happy that she is alright. The day quickly went by. Tomorrow came. He was sitting in his chair. He did not care about the classes, because he definitely knows this all is fake. Like some sort of a dimension. Who knows what'll happen.
