Li Han looked at Mei Yin with a hidden smile. He knew from her response that he wouldn't have to worry about her. But just because he didn't have to didn't mean he wouldn't. The next reporter to ask Mei Yin a question chose a more lighthearted approach. "Where did you come from?" Other reporters were silently kicking him for wasting such a perfectly good opportunity to ask a question. Mei Yin thought for a moment before deciding on what to say. "My mom." The entire hall burst into laughter at her joke. Who knew such a pretty person could have such a good sense of humor!
"All jokes aside, I was born and raised right here in Beijing. I went to normal schools and worked at normal jobs." Mei Yin's honesty towards the reporters was very refreshing since most interviewed people tried to escape every question by playing tai chi. It was very rewarding to finally see someone answering questions head-on.
The following day, Mei Yin woke up to a roaring city. She had text messages and multiple missed calls from people, some that she didn't even talk to anymore. She couldn't even log on to her social media. Her Weibo alone had crashed every time she tried to log in. Mei Yin had her breakfast and settled back on her bed when she heard a knock at her front door. Jing Fei came to not only yell at her best friend for keeping secrets, but to fan girl and get an autograph.
"My god, when did you get so much charm, so much personality!" Mei Yin could only scoff. "Boo hoo, how could my best friend say such a thing. My heart hurts boo hoo~" Jing Fei looked at her friend with a raised brow. She was very dramatic and flung her arms everywhere when she spoke. "Yeah okay, you don't have to say it, I already know. But I was cool right?" Mei Yin couldn't help but ask about her stellar performance in front of the media. "So charming that hearts came out of my eyes."
At that time she received a text from Li Han asking her to come to the company head office for an important matter. "Fei Fei, I'm sorry but my CEO has asked to see me, I have to go." She felt bad since she hasn't seen Jing Fei in a while and they only met for an hour. "It's okay don't worry about it." Mei Yin felt sorry to her friend who came all the way to see her. "Ayo, don't feel sad for me. My hubby was feeling jealous and sent a car to pick me up." What a territorial husband. Not even female friends are safe from his wrath.
After Jing Fei to be with her husband Mei Yin got ready to head over to Li Group. She wasn't sure how fashionably she should dress due to the response of the press conference though. She decided that she should play it safe with wide legged pants, a blouse and an opened long blazer. Just as she locked her door she was met by Zi Hao who happily escorted her to her hus- Li Group.
Mei Yin was immediately guided to Li Han's office where he was found sitting behind a large desk with his head buried in his work. When his eyes met hers he rose from his seat giving her his best smile; his work directly ceasing to exist. They sat staring at each other for some time until someone broke the connection with a cough. Li Han glared in Zi Hao's direction while he adjusted himself in his chair and slightly cleared his throat.
"Miss Xin, I asked you to come in today because of yesterday's press conference." Mei Yin was slightly nervous as she wasn't sure if she had done something wrong at the conference. "The conference was one of the biggest unofficial events in Li Group's existence. We feel that since you have blown up so much much in terms of popularity, we would like to discuss putting your flying on the back burner for now. I personally feel that continuing to fly with the company would be a safety risk for not only you but for the crews that you fly with as well." She knew the conference had some views and sparked some attention, but she didn't think that it would stop her from flying.
"Do I have a choice?" Li Han could hear the disappointment in her voice as she tried to weigh her options. His heart truly broke for her but he refused to put her in any kind of situation that could be life threatening to her. "I can issue you bodyguards while you work, but they will follow you everywhere you go and never leave your side." It didn't sound like she had much of a choice here. "What about if I stop flying?" She asked so many questions, she thought he would eventually get frustrated with her but he calmly answered every question she had with a gentle smile.
