"Since I've completed the mission successfully, can I stay and leave whenever I want?" Quirra asked back.
[ No you can't. You can either stay and continue living Iwa's life, or leave now and Iwa's body will die. Iwa's soul was the price she paid for her wish to be granted. ]
Quirra took a moment to think about it.
Although sex with Liwei was great, she didn't really like him enough to spend the rest of Iwa's life just to be by his side. Nor was there anything else holding her back in that place.
"I would like to leave now." she finally decided. It would be much better if she can complete her missions quickly and earn a lot of soul force.

Quirra groaned. "Not this again!"
Since the transfer might take forever, she'll use this time to make Liwei love Iwa even more.
When she opened her eyes again, the first thing she saw was Liwei's tired form at a makeshift desk near the bed, where all his work was piled up in front of him.
"Li-wei..." in a hoarse voice, Quirra called him.
Liwei's head snapped up in utter disbelief. His first thought was that he must be dreaming. But as he saw his beloved Queen wife smile weakly at him while shakily reaching out to him, he immediately got up from his seat and dashed towards her.
"Iwa! You are awake!!" he spoke, with tears of joy in his eyes, as he grasped her hand tigthly with both of his.
"Wait here my love. I will call the physician."
Liwei quickly gave orders to the attending servants nearby, while he poured a cup of warm tea for Iwa. He helped her drink the tea while still holding her cold hands.
"You are really awake." Liwei said in disbelief. He couldn't explain how happy he is at the momet, having his Queen wife back in his life. He wiped his tears away as he smiled down at her.
"You asked me to stay." Iwa said as she smiled softly.
I: "I heard you calling me. I heard everything you said."
L: "That's good, because I mean every word I said."
I: "Do you really love me Liwei? Do you mean it??"
Liwei nodded his head yes, while his tears silently fell again. His heart ached knowing that Iwa would not live long.
The dagger that wounded her was laced with poison and they didn't know how to cure it. No one in the capital knew. How could he tell her that she fought so hard to live by his side, only to wake up and know that she is going to truly die because she was poisoned?
There was nothing he could do. He didn't know how to tell her either. He never felt so helpless in all his years.
L: "I love you Iwa. I will love you always . . . and forever."
I: "What do you mean you'll love me always?"
L: "Iwa.." he said as he hugged her tightly before burying his head on her neck and cried out loudly. His cries were mournful, and he sounded like his soul was crushing.
Iwa's tears fell silently at the scene before her.
She knew.
She knew the answer to her question.
She let him cry as much as he needed, while she silently comforted her as she also cried silently.
Once he was done, she realized her bandages need to be changed as well as her night dress.
The physician and servants only came into the room once they knew everything had calmed down between their highnesses. After her examination, the imperial physician said a few words to Liwei before leaving them both completely alone.
Liwei then crawled into bed with Iwa and held her gently inside of his arms.
I: "You looked as if you have not slept in a week."
L: "That is because I have been working so hard, while someone here slept so comfortably on my bed the whole time."
I: "Ah. . . .so it is my fault then. Now that I am awake, you can catch on some sleep while I work."
Liwei panicked as he took her teasing seriously "NO! No. . . .Stay here with me." He was afraid that if he closed his eyes, she would disappear before him.
I: "Alright. I will do as my husband wishes. ." she replied as she snuggled in his embrace.
After some time, Quirra could hear Liwei's soft snores as he fell fast asleep.
Inside her mind space. . .
"System, how much longer do I have to wait?" Quirra asked her system.

"WHAT!? So slow!! System, you seriously need an update!!" Quirra yelled as she complained. She had no choice but to wait for her system to finish whatever it is doing.
"Can you tell me instead, what happened while I was 'asleep'? Liwei said I slept for a whole week."

"Yes."
As Quirra closed her eyes, she could see in her mind everything Liwei did for the past 7 days.
It seemed that after Iwa was saved, the hidden guards found the culprits in the assassination attempt. They turned out to be three ministers and one general. As for the general, he was a loyal follower of Liwei's third brother Leiwong.
It was his third brother who planned the assassination and the three people were the ones who followed through with his plan.
Leiwong was hoping to replace Liwei as King once he died, being that Liwei didn't have an heir.
After rounding up all those behind his assassination attempt, he also captured their loved ones and killed them. Right in front of the people who planned against him, before torturing them all to death.
It was then that Liwei learned of another betrayal. One that brought him down to his knees.
The general was the last one to die, and while on the brink of death he confessed that there was a hidden person beside him that played a major role in their plans. That spy was no other than Chonglin Mei.
It all began 8 years ago during the war.
That time, Liwei left the capital to protect their borders and fight in the war. Chonglin was left alone in the palace. Out of loneliness and longing, she found another man to occupy her time. That man was Leiwong. After some time, her feelings developed towards Leiwong and not long after that she became pregnant.
Chonglin didn't really expect for Liwei to survive the war, and when he came back after their victory in battle, she and Leiwong already had a child.
Although she loved Leiwong, Liwei was still her first love. She couldn't just forget Liwei that easily. So she promised Leiwong that she would help him by being his spy and in return he would make her his Queen and their child would be crowned Prince, once the throne becomes his.
Because Leiwong had already lost the throne to his elder brother Liwei, he agreed with Chonglin's suggestion. He spent his time raising their child while planning for the opportunity to kill Liwei.
Now that their assassination has failed, and all his loyal followers have died, there was no reason left for the general to keep the secret with him to the grave. At most, he wanted to see the devastation in Liwei's face once he knew of the betrayal. Those that the general held dearly in his heart jas died in front of him, it was logical for him to seek revenge on Liwei from killing his family.
Liwei quickly launched an investigation on Chonglin and his brother, and after three days the result of the investigation came out.
What the general confessed was true. Chonglin and Leiwong had an eight year old son. That fact alone was enough for Liwei to believe the generals words.
After learning the truth, Liwei locked Chonglin, Leiwong and their child, up. He didn't let anyone one of them go, not even the innocent child.
Afterwards, he felt empty. The years of caring, cherishing and loving Chonglin was all a waste. Chonglin and his love were just a lie.
The love he found with his Queen wife was the only true thing. Iwa might not be his first love, but she would be his last love. Always and forever.
Afterwards, he sent a dozen of his shadow guards to find an antidote for the poison in her body. However after searching far and wide, they couldn't find anything.
Liwei could only watch in agony as his beloved Iwa slowly dies.
He then setup a makeshift desk in his bedroom so he could spend his every waking moment next to her. He couldn't bear not seeing his beloved Iwa even for a second.
It was also because he was waiting for her to open her eyes. Hoping for her to wake up one last time, and smile at him with that dazzling smile of hers.
Hoping for the day where he could kiss her lips and hold her in his embrace, one last time.

Back in the physical world . .
Liwei jerked in his sleep waking himself up completely, which in turn also woke Iwa up from delving in her mind space.
"Liwei. . ." Iwa softly said. "Go back to sleep. You only slept for a couple of hours. Take the time to rest up completely. I will still be here when you wake up."
Liwei tightened his arms around Iwa. Not wanting to let go of this moment. . .
Not wanting to let her go. . .
L: "Iwa. . .I'm very sorry."
I: "I know. . .You don't have to tell me."
L: "How can you know?"
I: "I can feel it inside of me.....I also know I don't have much time left to stay by your side. . .I....I'm sorry Liwei."
L: "Don't be....Don't cry. Please." he wiped her eyes and kissed her forehead. "No tears. For the both of us."
I: "You must be happy, do you hear me? You must do your best and become a man worthy to be King."
L: "I'll do as you say, my Queen."
I: "You must find another Queen."
L: "No. I won't. "
I: "Yes you should. You must have a Queen to stand by your side. "
L: "You're the only Queen I'll recognise, the only Queen I'll have by my side and by my life. There is and will be no one else, but you my beloved Iwa."
I: "Don't be like that. . .You have to be happy! You have to keep on living. . .Promise me this Liwei."
L: "I . . .I promise." in the end, he gave in to her pleading. "I love you, Iwa."
I: "Kiss me, Liwei."
Liwei leaned over and kissed her on the lips. At first, he only meant to kiss her lightly but as their lips touched their tongues began to dance. Their fervent kiss lasted only for a short moment.
And the moment he pulled away he knew. . .
His Iwa died in his embrace. Leaving him with their last kiss. Liwei's tears began to fall slowly.

She stomped her way towards her bed and buried herself under her sheets as she went to get her much needed sleep.
