Chapter 36 - LET'S TALK ABOUT YOUR WEDDING

10 o'clock in the morning:

Arianna just woke up, and went down to the dining hall to have her breakfast. The activities she had last night lasted until 2AM and so her muscles are a bit sore. She must admit that Viper's skills were decent and even exceptional when he's very serious. She was pushed to her limit the moment Viper was forced to stop holding his strength back. Made her wonder where Yago found such talents!

"Miss," the young maid Emm stood beside Arianna while she was having her breakfast. She bowed her head a little before going on with the report. "A call from the main mansion came informing us that your father returned last night. He was looking for you and left instructions to pass to you his message." Emm then put a white envelop on the table.

Arianna sighed. What's with her father's weird way of communicating? He could just call her or something! What's with this weird envelop?

Arianna opened up the envelop and saw a card with the photo of a golfing course and buildings collaged on the front. The words "Green Valley Country Club" was written on it. What's the meaning of this advertisement? Is this Carl's message? Thinking it was weird, Arianna flipped the card, and behind it, was the message from her dad. Hand-written words were displayed that reads:

Dear child,

Come immediately. We will be waiting for you.

What a headache! Could his message be any more unclear? Come immediately? But where? And who are these "We"?

Suddenly, Arianna was reminded of something. Could it be?

"Emm, what date is it today?"

Emm was startled by her question for a bit but quickly answered. The end of November, Miss. It's your birthday."

" Jayden, were you avoiding me?", Belle asked while she encircled her arms around Jayden's neck from the back, while the man was sitting on his office, too busy to even look at her. "You haven't come to my place for while now. You don't even talk to me anymore." she complained.

Jayden continued with his work as if he didn't hear anything. Holding his pen, he checked and signed documents until he felt Belle's hands roaming around his body. Jayden gasped and felt hot at once.

"Stop it Belle." he said softly with flushed face. "I'll make it up to you some other time. I'm just too busy right now. There are so many things to be done!"

It's true that he was busy. After learning that Arianna agreed to marry him, Jayden started preparing for their wedding. There's very little time and too many things to take care of! Plus, there's still the company to run! Since Arianna will be very busy too, he agreed to her request to be in charge of the wedding preparation! And all this took most of his time!

"Alright. I understand. But you have to visit me tonight. I have been missing you so much!" Belle whispered coquettishly to his ear.

Jayden sighed. He shouldn't be doing this anymore. If Arianna finds out he is having an affair with her sister, she would surely never forgive him. But feeling Belle's touch, and remembering just how good the woman was in bed, he couldn't help but give in to temptation.

"Sure. I'll come visit you tonight." he answered.

Maybe he could play with her until before his wedding night! After all, it's such a waste to turn a skillful woman down. He'll just get rid of her after his wedding. After all, what would he need her for if he already have a hottie like Arianna to share his bed with! He'll just make do with her for now until the day he could have a taste of the gorgeous Arianna Reid!

Arianna paused for a while after she turned off the car's engine. She was now in the Green Valley Country club's parking lot, but only a couple of cars were parked. She came here as she thought his father organized a birthday party here for her. But it looks like she was wrong. Carl's car wasn't even there in the first place! So, that means there won't be any birthday party, right? Or did she came to the wrong venue? But the card says GV country club! Was Carl doing this on purpose to prank her? Was he stalling for some time? Ugh! Now she's overthinking! That old geezer doesn't even remember her birthday, right?

"I think I just got fooled."

As she was contemplating wether to stay or go straight home, Arianna heard a couple of knocks on her window. She rolled it down and saw a young man standing there.

"Miss, Mr. Reid had been waiting for you." he said with a professional smile.

So Carl is really here?

Arianna alighted from the car and allowed the young man to guide her inside the main hall. She couldn't help but notice that the country club was currently empty. She has been here before but the place was never this quiet and desolate!

"The place is so empty." she whispered.

"Yes. It's been two weeks since we announced that the country club will be closing for some time while the renovation of certain areas take place." the person guiding her explained.

Arianna nodded. So it's like that. The place is under renovation. Was her father planning to invest in this country club? Did he summoned her to discuss about business matters? That would be more plausible than Carl preparing a surprise birthday for her, right?

After a few minutes, Arianna reached the GV restaurant. It was empty too. The tables were all vacant except for one. At that occupied table, two men were sitting across each other. Their expressions were cold and serious. It was as if they were discussing grave matters. Arianna stopped on her tracks as she find them unapproachable.

"Arianna!"

All of a sudden, Carl called for her as he noticed her standing not too far away. Immediately, the heavy atmosphere a while ago was dispelled.

"Why are you standing there in a daze? Come here! We have something to discuss with you."

Arianna walked towards their table and was stunned when she recognize the man his father was meeting in that restaurant. So, the "we" he was talking about was them?

"It's nice to see you again." the man greeted with a smile. "Sit down, please."

Arianna stared at the man before she sat beside Carl.

"Dad, what did you call me here for?" she asked impatiently.

Carl took a deep breath before he look at his daughter intently.

"Arianna, let's talk about your wedding."

Arianna was silent before she reflexively turned to the man sitting opposite them.

"Vier..."

"Why are you looking at me like that?" Vier asked while wearing an awkward smile.
