All the servants along the way to Concubine Han's courtyard started whispering to each other once they spotted the elders of the household walking with a monk.
"I wonder what happened" asked one of the servant girl
"I know right. Ah! Maybe the monk is here to give blessings to Concubine Han and her children? " another servant girl responded
"I heard that it's too help heal Concubine Han" interjected a servant boy.
Hearing the whispers of the servants, Chen Zi Ye couldn't help but let out a smirk but she quickly hid the smirk as she spoke a little louder, "Oh wise one, do you really think that all the things happening in the household is due to the birth of the children from Concubine Han?"
"Amituofo, we will have to see" the monk responded, not paying much attention to all the gawking eyes and perked up ears.
Hearing the conversation between the monk and Chen Zi Ye, the servants' gossip turned for the worse.
"Did you hear that?" Stated the servant boy
"I did. I did. " the servant girl responded
"So does that mean that everything from Concubine Han falling ill, the dark clouds looming around, and the servants falling ill as well is due to the twins being born? " said the other servant girl
"My grandmother always told me that children born on a moonless night were a sign of good omen though" interjected another servant boy.
"That maybe true but twins aren't really a sign of good omen tough" said the servant girl
Lan Mu Shan couldn't hold it in any longer as he heard the servants gossip. He shot a cold stare towards the servants then towards Chen Zi Ye, "I see that the servants in this part of the residence needs to be sent back to the market since they can't even do their jobs."
All the servants couldn't help but shiver upon hearing the words of the prime minister. They immediately shut their mouths, turned away and went back to complete their tasks.
"Shall this old servant prepare to send those servants back to the market? " asked Old Ge
"No need" Lan Mu Shan said as he coldly stared at Chen Zi Ye.
He knew that she had done that on purpose so that the servants would spread rumors in the capital. Afterall she knew that the one he loved was her half-sister and not her since their marriage was for political reasons.
"Before we see the children, can you see the fate of Concubine Han?" Asked the old madam
"Amituofo, it is fate that has brought me to meet both the mother and children." Respond the monk
"I see, I'll inform the servants to bring the children to Concubine Han's courtyard. " said the old madam before turning to her head maid, "you heard our conversation. Go summon the wet nurses and tell them to bring the children along."
The head maid of the old madam bowed and responded, "yes madam" before turning around to complete her orders.
"This way then" said the old master as he turned his head towards a different direction.
After many twists and turns they finally arrived at Concubine Han's courtyard. The maids quickly came up to the door and announced, "the masters, madams, and a wise one has arrived!"
The maids quickly opened the door and said, "Please come in" as they stood to the side with their heads down.
Concubine Han's head maid was dressed in a light pale blue hanfu with her hands in front of her as she bowed towards them.
"Mmm, you may all rise." said Lan Mu Shan
"Please come in masters, madams, and wise one. If so, can you please inform me of the reason for your sudden visit?" Spoke head maid Li Ahn as she stepped to the side while swinging out her arm to the side to show them the way in.
"We've encountered this wise one by the main entrance and happen to hear him talking about how there was something ominous going on in the residence. After acquiring more information from this wise one we had requested that he advise us to overcome this perilous situation. After hearing us out, this wise one had agreed to see Sister Han and the children to find the source of the ominous sign." Stated Chen Zi Ye as she stood there with her back straight and smiled gently at Li Ahn.
Li Ahn felt a sense of dread when she saw Chen Zi Ye's smile. Afterall she's a maid who had followed her miss since young and knew that her miss and her sister never got along. Thus seeing this smile she couldn't help but put her guard up against Chen Zi Ye.
"I see, please follow me. I'll guide you to the inner courtyard of Concubine Han." said Li Ahn before turning to lead the way.
As they were walking through the beautiful courtyard everyone could tell just how much the prime minister loved his concubine. The first thing they saw after they entered was a big willow tree that stood right at the foot of a bridge that lead to a pavilion sitting in the middle of a lake. The lake filled with white lotus, Lily pads, and koi fishes. Upon seeing such a scene they had to admit that this sight was definitely breathtaking yet calm and the air surrounding the place was just so peaceful that everyone couldn't help but stop in there tracks momentarily.
Seeing how everyone had stopped, Li Ahn couldn't help but lift her head and feel proud about the scenery. Afterall her miss had put a lot of work into building this pavilion so that should the master ever visit her during the day he had a place to relax and calm his mind.
Chen Zi Ye clenched her fingers so tight that blood started to flow a little. She couldn't help but feel angry and envious. after all she had given her sister one of the worst courtyard yet she turned it into….. into such a place.
"Amituofo" said the monk while letting a smile "it would seem that the heavens had greatly blessed the concubine"
Hearing this statement from the monk had sent everyone into shock. Some were happy about his statement and some were worried. While everyone was lost within their own thoughts about the monks statement the sound of the babies cries had brought them all back to reality.
"Wah! Wah!"
Hearing the babies cry everyone turned to look towards the source but no one noticed that the monk had let out an even bigger smile before hiding it and started again, "The concubine is indeed blessed. Amituofo."
