"Due to our Martial arts lineage we are not able to use magic." Grandfather looked at me, "I'm very sorry Kuto..."
"You knew!" I yelled, "Why didn't you tell me I wouldn't have gotten my hopes up."
"Calm down. Your road to becoming the strongest hasn't ended you can still do it if you practice our martial arts. I have something to show you.".
He went into the closet of the room where all the equipment is kept and cleaned. He came out with a small wooden box, inside was a scroll.
On that scroll there was a picture of my ancestors fighting the monsters that looked like zeroes.
"What does this mean?" I asked my grandpa.
"Generations of our family have been fighting the zeroes even before the heroes appeared. Your father was one of those he died protecting the town from the wave of zeroes before the heroes could arrive and finish off the rest.".
"Dad was stronger than... most mages?".
"Yes he was a Lord at the age of 37 and already almost broke the bottleneck on becoming a High Guardian. He defeated so many zeroes in his life and was looking for more information on them. That information relate to his death." He sighed, "Martial Artists can become even stronger then mages. We weren't lying when we said you were a prodigy, let me show you another thing."
He walked toward me moving faster than any mage I saw on tv. He punched stopping right at my face behind me the wind was so strong everything fell off the table and one of the chairs broke. "This is what you can do when you practice and cultivate your skills long enough, I have a present for your 8th birthday."
He reached in the box again this time pulling out a skillbook labeled pulsing wave technique and gave it to me.
"This is your first technique. I expect you can cultivate it to the highest level within a month, when you do come to me."
"Yes Grandpa." I said. After witnessing this and the power I can achieve when I am older I forgot all about the magic I have wished for all these years and decided to fully start on the path of martial arts and cultivation.
