liam was walking down the street covered with snow. every step he took came with a reply of snow crunching under his weight. he had a distant gaze at nothing in particular. then he shifted his eyes towards the horizon. it was a sunset, a beautiful and cool one. the golden lines of the cloud combined with the tint of rose, red and purple here and there suddenly reminded him of someone he didn't think that he could remember even now. he let out a chuckle. he kept walking away towards the subway after leaving from work.
"liam, hey liam! please wait." came running maria. she works in the same office as him. he turned around and stopped for her to reach him. "liam, i-i want to say something..." she lowered her head bashfully. he waited patiently for her to proceed. she then raised her head to see him and met his eyes. she looked shy, he was amused. he urged her,"go on.." "well liam, i liked you since the first day i saw you, i can't keep it within myself anymore, shall we date?"she started with a confidence and finished without it, lowering her head once again.
liam thought 'well this is different, i mean normal. but that girl...' he mused inside his mind and turned towards maria. "maria, i don't know you much." her eyes dimmed. "how about we be friends. Then if the attraction is mutual, i don't mind us dating. i would like the idea of it, especially a sensible girl like you." she was clearly in joy. she hugged liam impulsively and backed off from her own mistake. "i am-i am really sorry. it's too good to hear that from you that i lost my control a second. bye liam. thanks for givinge me the chance" she ran away even faster than she came. he averted his gaze again towards the horizon and thought 'that girl, how is she now?'he stood half a world across from her, in a snow filled western country.

mina couldn't sleep well. 'urgh, what is happening to me these days. don't tell me am lovesick. that doesn't happen to me. even back then i wasn't like this. this is something different.' she woke up from her bed and went into her bathroom to relieve herself. she washed her face and brushed her teeth. when she came out, the time in her phone was showing 04:20 AM in digital. 'urgh!this feeling of being constantly watched!' she was clearly vexed.
she went down the stairs, she knew, she had to eat. she was hungry and stressed. she wanted to eat something good. from the refrigerator she took out condensed milk. she found chocolate chip cookies, some jellos and a tub of vanilla icecream. her mind involuntarily drifted to fifty shades. 'dirty mind' she admonished herself. she took the blender out and poured the condensed milk into it, added few cookies, emptied few jellos and blended it rough. then she poured it all into a big pitcher and scooped two big drops of ice cream and set it on top of her smoothie. she was satisfied at the visual feast. her tummy rumbled. 'i need something hot to eat with this' she left her smoothie in the freezer and took out a bagful of frozen french fries. 'good', mina was clearly smirking in joy.for her anything even distantly related to potatoes is like an orgasmic experience. she immediately turned on the stove and deep fried the french fries. 'is this enough, or maybe a sandwich too?!' instantly she made a sandwich with mayo and vegetables.
finishing it all up, she placed her mini food and smoothie on a tray and took it to her room upstairs. she was restless. she couldn't sleep, hence she decided to eat and work on her story. the time was nearing 5 o clock in the morning. she felt dry, without any idea or fantasy giving way to words. her work this time involved horror and dark genre and she was thinking whether she should get inspiration. 'from where?' her table was arranged with a neat row of horror genre books. she caught sight of them. haunting in hill house, dracula, castle of otranto, edgar allan poe works, and many more books with a lot of modern urban horror stories stashed between the classics. she couldn't decide. the sun was peeking outside from behind the clouds now. few birds which stirred up from their slumber a while ago were now flying lazily towards the horizon. she felt suffocated. her sumptuous snacks were left almost untouched after a few bites.
"if i am one of my character, especially a helpless one in my story, what am feeling now, this is exactly how i would be feeling then. helpless, dry without any creativity, scared of the unknown, always on my toes and anxious, maybe even to the extent of feeling numb and apathetic toward everything. now a dark plot should be already revolving around me without my awareness of it. but what is the plot? i don't know what is happening to me anymore. i feel scared, to whom should i say; who will listen; will they understand?" she was mumbling with a confused look at her computer screen. her hair stood on its ends unconsciously alerting her to the danger lurking close her. she was terrified, she looked around her room but found no one. 'should i just run away? will that help? no, no, this feel follows wherever i go and also why would i leave the safety of my own home' she braced herself for whatever that is coming, in thought that if her own sanctuary is meaningless then she is safe nowhere.
but nothing came, nothing happened. it dawned and the rays entered her room, slit after slit lighting the room once filled with darkness into a brightening glare. she blinked away her confusion and kept gazing at the sun that appeared as if it was smiling back at her. thus she survived one night of misery, one night of feeling helpless and finally saw the day. she started typing furiously, every little anguish she felt during the time she woke up from, pouring it all into her words.
after sometime she let out a deep tired sigh and sat straight yawning when she suddenly remembered her first love. 'how are you liam?', a lazy smile was dancing on her lips.
liam had a sneeze and two more in a row. 'who is thinking of me in this evening time. is it maria?' he wondered.
