Of the many days where Elektra was always one step behind Kalan in terms of getting up early, today was probably one of the few days where it was the other way around. Kalan growled as all that remained beside him was the warmth of the woman's body, which he assumed had left the bed more than fifteen minutes ago. He didn't know why he didn't wake up as early as usual, all he knew was that last night he was insanely exhausted and slept without thinking much.
Even more astonishing, Kalan found a cup of coffee still steaming on his desk. When he glanced at the AutoChef in the corner of the room, he saw another cup that had just been ordered and had not been picked up by the customer.
He decided to take the coffee and walked across the room, past the connector door that connected their room to Karina's. Elektra stood stiffly in front of Karina's closet, doing nothing—dreaming, to be exact.
"You're too paranoid."
