Chapter 119 - Action

"No"

Baldur and Helia replied with the same deadpan expressions.

"Eh? Why?" The masked figure froze for a moment before suddenly letting out a slight chuckle.

He took off the cloth masking his face, revealing his thin lips that were curled into a playful smile. Lazily scratching the small stubble on his chin thoughtfully, the smile on his face widened.

He looked down at Baldur and Helia who were still looking up at him with wary gazes and ready stances.

These people were powerful officers of the Blue leaf guild, recognized quasi-commanders who were feared and respected for their strength.

In other words, excellent opponents!

Helia looked up at the swordsman's revealed face and realized she couldn't recognize him which made her frown.

"Baldur, he's all yours." She murmured from the sides of her lips.

"I was hoping you'll say that!" Baldur's eyes opened wide as he thrust a palm forward!

Rippling wave!

An invisible wave moved quickly through the air and approached the swordsman who suddenly raised his sword.

"So it's you then?"

SLASH!

With a light leap, he charged straight downward through the attack, dispersing it with a powerful slash of his sword.

Helia who was observing the battle from the position she had quickly retreated to felt the shock in her heart before suddenly realizing something.

'This person is not weak.'

CLANG!!!

A loud metallic clang echoed out as Baldur punched out a steel fist to meet the incoming sword.

Feeling the strength behind the sword, his pupils dilated with slight shock and he looked at the face of the happily grinning swordsman.

'This person is not weak!'

************************************************************

Baluu waved his arms in front of him and went around the spot a few times but he couldn't sense any presence there.

Looking up his shoulders at Myra, he asked her again.

"Are you sure there is somebody here?"

Myra looked back at him with a slightly adrift expression before looking around and then shaking her head.

"Mhmm…. No. I can't see him again."

'Strange…...' Baluu looked around warily but eventually tossed the matter to the back of his head.

"Oh well, let's go get you some nice clothes, eh?"

"Uhm? Yes…. Yes! Let's get clothes!" Myra seemed to snap out of her strange state without Baluu noticing anything wrong.

Within her arms, Amba's eyes looked at her with a quiet glow.

"Okay then!" Baluu turned around and walked back to their previous location only to find out that Vars and the old woman were nowhere to be found as well.

'Did he take her to where she wanted to go by himself? How strange!' he looked around but couldn't find any traces of them.

The bearman doubted the kindness of his long-time best friend but eventually shook his head.

"Where is little viper?" Myra asked quizzically.

She had adopted the nickname Baluu called the grumpy Vulcan.

"I don't know" Baluu trudged off in a predetermined direction.

"Don't worry about him, he will be alright. Let's go get you some nice clothes!" Baluu cheered.

"Clothes!" Myra cheered along.

The memory of the previous mystical battle was totally non-existent in her memory.

On a road not very far from their location, Vars was running down the crowded streets of Eadon as he hurried to get to the main gate.

His face scrunched up in a deep frown as the words of the old woman Baluu had been escorting resounded over and over in his head.

"There is an ambush by the mines. Hurry there if you want to save your friends!"

He gritted his teeth in concealed anger, various curses roaring out in his mind.

'Who the hell dares to ambush people around me!!!'

This spurred his anger more as he suddenly increased his speed, shoving and pushing people out of his way with no care about their reactions.

A few meters behind him, Black Raven traced the agitated Vars behind with quiet movements as she silently weaved through the crowd. She had already thrown her old lady disguise aside.

A few minutes earlier, she had taken the chance and whispered a few words to Vars while the bearman was distracted by the girl.

As the young man was distracted by his thoughts, he took a few seconds to react to the whisper. Long enough for Black Raven to vanish into the crowd.

But the assassin didn't escape immediately and instead chose to wait and watch.

She had to say that the grandmaster's son was far more rash than she had expected. Immediately he came to and found out that she was nowhere to be found, he immediately ran off in the direction of the main gate without waiting for his companions.

'He didn't even bother to take a carriage?' she was shocked by this level of irascibility but still followed him.

She was hoping that the presence of the grandmaster's son would cause a halt in the ambush which would give her a chance. Nobody would dare to hurt him.

They rushed through the town, one following the other. This naturally attracted curious gazes and offended people but once the residents found out who the person was, they kept quiet and silently retreated to the side.

Vars Vulcan had a strange position in the town of Eadon. One known only by the original residents of the town. Although any visitor would notice the strange atmosphere, they would naturally attribute it to the identity of being the dwarven grandmaster's adopted son.

The residents made way for him when they noticed him rushing through the streets, a clear path forming in the crowd. Black Raven quietly followed from behind trying to draw as little attention to herself as possible.

In one of the numerous inns that occupied the streets just before the main gate, Redbone chugged down a mug of warm beer and angrily slammed it on the greasy table.

BAM!

"Damn that Whitesoul! Why would he have an emergency now!?" he gnashed his teeth heavily.

On the first floor of the inn, a grumpy Redbone sat in front of a round dirty table along with Yellow Lily and Silver Tooth.

The initially loud inn turned quiet and some of the customers eyed Redbone in irritation due to his constant loud yells but nobody stood up to confront him.

Although he wasn't the strongest person in Eadon, he still had a ruthless reputation.

A dainty-looking yellow lily glanced at him from the corner of her eyes, a bit of fear and disgust was hidden in her gaze but she said with a smile.

"You know how he is. His condition is unstable so we can only wait for him like this."

"DAMN HIM!" Redbone was furious!

"If he wasn't such a good cleric I would have kicked him out of this team a long time ago after crippling his hands to match that retarded mind of his!"

It was obvious that he was still furious due to Black Raven's betrayal. And since Whitesoul had encountered an emergency and needed to log out, they had to find an inn for him to safely log out in while they waited for him.

His team had already lost a great deal of firepower with Black Raven's departure. He couldn't afford to miss a good cleric when he was about to go and fight such an important battle.

"Boss, you really shouldn't call him tha..." Silver Tooth started speaking but stopped mid-way when Redbone's fierce glare landed on him.

Just as the tension was getting high, they noticed some of the customers by the large glass window of the inn looking out and pointing.

Redbone turned his gaze over before standing up abruptly and heading to the window to take a look.

The figure of a young man with thick black hair and brows running through the streets with the crowd opening up for him was reflected in his feline eyes.

He stared at the young man's figure in confusion until he finally couldn't be seen as he disappeared into the crowd ahead.

Withdrawing his gaze, a deep frown appeared on Redbone's face.

'That was the grandmaster's son!'

With this realization, so many thoughts started to form in his mind as he began to think of the repercussions of such an event.

As a crafty person, he naturally couldn't help but create speculations when he saw any factors involving a plan he has making their own moves.

'He is heading out of town in such a hurry. An emergency?' he frowned in thought as he slowly went back to his table and sat down.

'He couldn't have realized that an ambush was set against Sleeping beauty, has he? That makes no sense! How would he know!?' This made no sense!

'Sleeping beauty is rumored to possess golems. Does this have anything to do with the grandmaster? But although dwarves possess mechanical constructs, they are nothing like golems.'

'Yes! It can explain why the grandmaster's son would be disturbed if an attack was to befall sleeping beauty. His father's possession might get damaged or lost in the process.'

Redbone played with the mug in his hand as he tried to ignore the murmuring of the crowd as they discussed the grandmaster's son.

'But it is confirmed that Sleeping beauty is just a noob that started out in Laron. He had no contact with Eadon since he started playing and the grandmaster and his son certainly haven't left the town. The grandmaster is rumored to have never left since he came here!'

'No…... something is definitely not right!'

'It might be something, but it might also be nothing. Whatever it is, I can't let it just happen. It is better to be cautious.' Redbone slammed the mug on the table once more and startled his companions.

The grandmaster's son was too large of a chess piece to be left unchecked!

"Get ready. We are leaving quickly!" he commanded as he stood up.

"But what about Whitesoul?!" Silver Tooth asked with a perplexed tone.

Redbone snorted as he tossed a few kryts on the table and headed for the door.

"Leave him a message, he should contact us when he is back online and rendezvous as quickly as possible. We don't have time to wait!"

Yellow Lily and Silver Tooth followed behind his hulking frame with confused expressions but still kept their thoughts to themselves.

Redbone was currently in a bad mood.

They didn't want to get on the wrong side of that!
