Hey there,
Random author here,
For anyone seeing this at the time it was intended, things would definitely be different later on but just for now, this is more of a rant? I don't know. Think of it as an info dump of some sort.
I opened up a word document with the intention of writing a chapter and I ended up doing this instead. If you paid attention to the author's thoughts, which is this boi, in the last chapter you would know I am suffering from a severe case of writer's block.
Now just to be clear it's not really a situation where I don't know what to write down or how to progress the story or anything of the sort. This enigmatic presence is very clear on what he wants with his story. I have had this book swimming and stirring in my brain juices for years!
The characters, the general plot, some micro plots, filler characters, every weird laugh, who lives, who dies, who takes a shit after sipping some poisoned wine, I have them all in my head so unless I start suffering from a severe case of alzheimers which would be rare for someone my age it would be impossible for me to get lost.
I am having a bit more of an execution problem now so I have been conflicted on what would be best to move things forward, I think that would be more accurate.
I feel like I just wanted more of a release to be able to talk about these problems I'm facing than anything else, I'll figure it out eventually I'm sure. This is a story I want to tell no matter the circumstances involved. Whether this book never gets traction and is buried in history or whether it ends up getting hated for some reason or the other or whether I achieve some form of success. I have decided to take whatever in stride and release my book as it is.
To me, it is more of a life goal to have these stories and characters of mine brought to life and seen in another form than just thoughts and imagination. And it would probably be one of my deathbed regrets if I don't get it done before I die, LMAO.
Okay, all these rantings that don't really bother anyone should end here. Let me get into it.
One thing I have done in the story that I'm not sure most people would like is that I have given a glimpse of what endgame powers are like.
From the confrontation between Oron and Piety to the battle at the cloud monk temple to the small skirmish of the berserk beasts and their eventual death at the hands of the town lord and down to the latest chapter where I introduced a primordial beast and the set to be legendary character of the city lord of Kurn.
All these characters can give a glimpse of what endgame level is, although none of them have reached true end game level like the immortals, some legendary primordial beasts, the end dragons that have only been mentioned, some other characters and such that haven't been introduced yet and even the gods themselves.
A part of me felt it might have been too much but I did it anyway. The first reason was I wanted to create a template for myself.
As someone who has read countless books, scrolled through piles of manga, and watched through heaps of anime. (Yes, I am a HUGE nerd if it hasn't been clear by now. What were you expecting? Some tall bearded guy who wears sunglasses and plays basketball? No! I wear comfy hoodies and read novels with headphones on!!!) One constant thing that always messes up a good story's world-building for me is unstable power leveling.
When there is a sudden jump in the characters' strength as the story progresses, it leaves this disillusioned feeling that's not nice.
You can't be lifting pebbles one day and then hurling mountains the other, it shouldn't work that way!
So I decided to create a template for myself. Introduce some of these really strong characters early on so I can set up their powers while I'm still level headed about writing my story. So if in the future I start getting ambitious and want to create a character that can twist time and swim in space cracks with the agility of a fish in water I would have these early chapters to slap me back down to reality unless I would want to create holes in my own plot.
The second reason is I felt that the situation in other stories where stronger characters only appeared when the MC got stronger is quite frankly.... bullshit.
Just because the MC is weak doesn't mean the world won't move on. Strong people are ambitious and always have one agenda going or the other, that is why they are strong! They are always working towards something. It's not like they would just be sitting and meditating, waiting for the MC to reach their strength level before interaction can take place.

B ranked villain - "Ah, the Mc has reached C rank strength. Wonderful! His progress is quite admirable."
D ranked villain – "Dammnit! It means my turn is over and I can't do anything anymore!"
C ranked villain – "Ah don't worry about it D ranked villain-chan. I would take revenge for you. Just introduce me as your elder cousin's second husband and say I was in a hidden realm and just came back. Then I would use revenge as an excuse to deal with him!"
A ranked villain – "Hahaha! That is a wonderful plan C ranked villain-kun! When it is my turn, we would use that too but revise it a little."
B ranked villain – "Ah, it is too late now. MC has received a fortuitous encounter and C ranked villain can't deal with him anymore."
C ranked villain – "Shit! Does that mean I can't get any screen time?"
A ranked villain – "Such an unlucky bastard"
D ranked villain – "Hahahaha! At least I got a few chapters!"
B ranked villain – "You luck is truly- "
S ranked villain – "All of you shut it now! Stop making noise over nonsense! C ranked villain, you go and fight the protagonist now! Even it is useless it can be a chance to show the MC's power level. B ranked villain, be ready to go after him straight after that and take care of it! The rest of you go back to meditation! You can't be seen until your time is ready. If anyone disobeys, you shall be used as cannon fodder!"

Or something like that.
That mini-scene is just my own imagination of what I think happens in some stories where stuff like that happens.
All these strong powers should be constantly interacting and I think it makes no sense for the MC to just be invisible to all that until he becomes strong enough.
Another thing I have been doing recently and is also causing me a bit of a problem is power matching. I don't know if you, the readers are disturbed by it but it does disturb me as the author.
The MC doesn't have any good antagonist right now!
I dropped my MC in a world where most of the characters are stronger than him right now. Although I gave him a hack in the form of a unique class as an immortal's disciple, it still isn't enough as he hasn't matured so his strength is still weak.
I have been trying to create a buffer zone for him to get stronger and have been setting things in motion to foreshadow that but I also need to introduce someone that can match his strength to give him a challenge and serve as motivation.
I originally wanted Gai to be that person but later on, I saw more potential in Gai and created his own sub-plot for him to explore. Yes, Gai is in the main character set.
Gai would end up being more of a rival than anything. I liked his character ever since I made him as I felt he represented the stoic decisive part of my character. (You didn't think I was some lively petty person did you?)
Anyway, that's for that. I really want to create a buffer zone for the MC and give him a good rival but as of this point, Plot devices that I created won't allow for it to happen and I don't want to bullshit a battle and let the MC win because of the legendary plot armor or the holy aura of MC luck.
I have been thinking of ways to get around this and most of the chess pieces are in place, the only thing now is to bring all these pieces together which is the execution.
That is what is causing the writer's block.
Well I hope my ranting entertained you, it was sure as hell tiring to type but I wanted to do it anyway. I will try to go back to writing tomorrow and bring out a chapter as soon as possible.
For those of you that read my work, a big thank you for thinking it worthy of your time. I know it's not much but hey, ...…..
Okay, it's not much, I know. There's no "but" for this, LOL.
Let me share a bit of my personal philosophy here so I can feel smart.
Life is as entertaining and as miserable as you want it to be. Selective 'not giving of fucks' is not hypocrisy, neither is pretending to give a fuck because of certain circumstances, your mental health should be your number one priority. Do things according to what you feel is best for you, it is not selfishness, it is living your best life. You can only take care of your loved ones properly when you can take care of yourself. As long as simple rationality and your conscience are fine with it then it is more than okay.
If it is against the law though then you should be ready to deal with the consequences, don't feel the world is unfair.
Well, that should be the end. Once again thanks for reading this. And as a bonus, allow me to tell you that my number of collections as of now is 69...
I chuckled a great deal while typing this.
And yes, I have a screenshot saved in both my google drive and a flash drive I buried deep in my backyard as a form of a time capsule.
Historical moments and all that you know? LMAO bye.
