Man has it been a long day.
Lyra stretches her arms out with a yawn as she walks down the street with Kellow. Fein had stayed behind with Rasolf to learn more about his personal applications of the gift. In my opinion I don't really need much more functionality out of my Gift, I can already accomplish basic telekinetic actions with it, why would I bother wasting my time with such a niche use?
It is sun-down and they are about half-way back to their respective houses. Daniel, Kellow, Lyra and Fein are all neighbors after all.
Kellow is unnaturally quiet this evening, he must have really taken Daniel's collapsing on the field hard.
"So, that was a fun trial you had." Trying to break up the tension a bit.
"I guess" mumbled Kellow. "Although I was handed a really easy one."
"Easy?" Lyra feigns outrage, "I would've HATED to fight something twice my size."
"But the bigger they are the harder they fall"
This brings a smile to Kellow's face. "Maybe if you put some more thought into your Gift you could be as strong as me." He makes a comical face and raises a projection of a buff arm flexing.
Lyra giggles in response and notices something approaching them.
A person wearing a torn-up hooded-robe and guiding another person with a less-torn garb, but covered in red stains, and limping. Probably an alcoholic. As they get closer Lyra notices the leading person is a girl, with a rather frustrated look on her face. The guy with the stained robe growled, almost like an animal. The girl tugged in his hand sharply and he almost fell over, but stopped growling.
"Hey!" called Kellow, "are you and your friend ok?"
He's always been too nosy and caring for his own good. Lyra grits her teeth with embarrassment, but keeps her mouth closed so as to not insult them.
"We're plenty fine sir" says the girl, almost startled that anyone would talk to her or her companion. But then the guy tugged her shirt and groaned out "Hungry, so hungry."
The girl slapped his hand, "I TOLD you to stay quiet around them!"
"Hey, I can get you some food." Said Lyra. Lyra's family is rich, partially as a consequence of being so well connected to Daniel's family and having their favor in building their tavern empire. Roselia and daughter's is a popular pub all over Grymidion, its appeal stretches across all the nations, although it has more competition outside of Astoria since the monopoly influence is relegated within the nation's walls.
"I couldn't possibly ask that of you." Said the girl hurriedly,
"Don't worry, it's no problem at all." She insisted, "come on, I'll take you to my favorite pub."
Some cheap PR never hurt anybody after all.
"Yeah, you should join us for dinner!" Agreed an enthusiastic Kellow, always up for a free dinner.
The girl sighed, "Fine, I guess I have no choice here."
So now all 4 of them are heading in the opposites direction of Lyra and Kellow's original destination.
