Shirley checks in the hotel and was escorted to her room in a jiffy. Her bags were already resting in the closet and she has no desire to unpack. She walked around the room and then found what she was looking for. Opening the drapes she glanced at the view her opened window provided. It was beautiful, to say the least. She could see the sparkling ocean laid at the bottom and equally blue sky high above. As far as her sight stretched she could only see nature at its best.
She let the drapes opened and walked back to the bed. Without giving any thought she jumped on it with shoes and all. She stayed like that for a moment or two, inhaling the fresh scent of clean linen. She turned on her back and glanced at the ceiling. It was white and colored flower designs popped here and there. In the middle of it, right above her bed, was a huge mirror. She could see her reflection gazing back at her.
Why would someone want a mirror on the ceiling? Do they want to look at themselves when they slept but how could they unless they sleep with their eyes open?
Lost in her frivolous thoughts Shirley did not know when she fell asleep. Despite the jetlag, she has no problem sleeping the day off. Or maybe because of the jetlag she remained asleep till late at night. Whatever might be the reason it was good for her. Sleep heals emotional scars and who might know if she has a peaceful night ahead in future or sleepless nights.
On the other side, Sara was getting ready for her date with Rock. She was absent-minded as her thoughts always drift back to that douche that broke her friend's heart. She believes that the punishment she gave him was too light. A mere few punches and kicks were not enough they did not even scrape the surface of the anger that she has in her heart. Shirley was too good for him.
Sara did not notice that due to her anger she has ruined the nail art she was supposed to do. When she eventually did, she was not sure what to make of it. Originally, she was making a heart but now it more or less resembled a splashed ink. She did not mind it either, on the rest of her fingers she made that splash and was done. She looked at herself and could not help the blush that crept up her cheeks.
She was wearing the dress that Rock has purchased for her on their first anniversary. It was a special occasion and she could never forget what followed afterward. It was a blissful night and cues the blush. She did not know why he had insisted for her to wear that dress. It has taken her and Shir more than three hours to finally locate it in that mess of heap of clothes she has in her closet.
Sara looked at the time and she saw that it was almost 1 o'clock. They had moved the meeting from dinner to lunch. She was ready, but could not help the nervousness that crept up in her heart. She has met his parent's thousands of time but she did not know why right now she was having heart palpitations at the mere thought of it.
Calm down Sara, they are great people, you have already met them it is nothing different. So relax, they are not going to eat you alive. They do not even eat meat for God's sake.
She pep-talked herself and finally calmed down. Just then the doorbell rang. Once again she could feel her heartbeats increase a notch and she cursed. She was once again being a scared cat. She saw him walk towards her and stop in front of her. Rock looked at her from top to bottom he could never get tired from looking at her. He could see that she was a nervous mess. So he did the only thing that came to his mind to help her relax. He leaned in and kissed her long and deep. When he broke apart he could see that she was much calmer than before.
'It always helps. Shall we?' Taking her hand he left for his parents.
