Seeing Xia Yao Xing's tears the boy got confused and anxious. He took a seat beside her as he placed his hands on two sides of her face. He gently wiped her tears with his thumb. He looked into her eyes with greater concern and asked her, "Are you hurt? Where is it paining?"
He asked it with so much gentleness that tears started flowing again from Xia Yao Xing's eyes. She tried to sit up but she couldn't. The boy removed his hands from the sides of her face and helped her to sit up.
He sat her up on the bed and placed a pillow in the back of her. When he made sure she was comfortable he straightened himself and asked her, "What is it? why are you still crying?"
She looked up at him for a few seconds and then turned her face sidewise as if trying to avoid him. When he saw this he got anxious and again placed his hands on either side of her face as he asked, "What is it? Did I do something wrong?"
He himself doesn't know that he cared about her so much that he couldn't even bear her little angered gesture.
Yes Xia Yao Xing was indeed angry with him for not coming till now. For making her wait so much. She wanted badly to hug this big brother and cry but she was also angry. She couldn't show her weakness and make a joke of herself. But when she heard his question she couldn't stop herself anymore and hugged him for her dear life!
The boy was a little startled at first but then hugged her back naturally. He patted her back slowly and steadily as if trying to sooth her pain. He did so for as long as they were holding each other.
After God know how much time that they hugged each other... she let go of him and he also did so being much reluctant to leave her.
Xia Yao Xing looked at him intensely and asked, "Why are you so late? Why didn't you come before?" and as she asked so tears started flowing down from here eyes again.
At first the boy was a little flustered hearing her but later he lifted his hands and wiped her tears in the same way he did before, placing her head in between his palms and wiping her tears with his thumb. All the while gazing lovingly at her. He looked at her and said, "I'm sorry..." He paused for a while and said again, "I didn't know they are this evil. I won't do this again. I'll come frequently to meet you. Don't be angry OK?" the worry was written on his face when he said all this.
In fact he was not only worried about her but he also was scared. He was scares that she would despise him for being late for her rescue, for not being there when she was in so much pain. He got a little closer to her and hugged her again...
He reluctantly let her go for a second. Then again held her face in between his palms and said, "Don't be afraid, I'm going to give you my strength so that you can fight against them. OK?"
Xia Yao Xing nodded and looked into his eyes.
The boy slowly got closer to her, with all love and care for the little girl in front of him, he simple held her head in his hands and kissed her forehead with utmost care and love in his eyes. Time seemed to has stopped for a long time when he finally let got of her.
He let go of her and put his right hand inside his coat pocket and fetched something from the pocket. He held his in his hand and showed it to the girl with sweet smile on his face.
The little girl was surprised to see a beautiful sea blue light comming from the object. It seemed alive as the girl looked at the object bond to a silver string hanging from his hands. She seemed to have forget all her worries looking at the life like big sea blue, half-heart shaped thing. After looking at the object for a long time the girl reluctantly looked up at the boy and asked... "What is this?, as shock was clearly written all over her face.
He looked at her awestruck face as the loving smile never left his face and answer, " It's the strength I'm giving you." , As he stroked the necklace with his thumb.
The little girl couldn't understand him and titled her head as she questioned in a cute manner. "Ummmm...?"
He chuckle at her and couldn't help pinching her cheeks for which she made a little noise with a "ouch!", he left her cheeks and started putting the necklace on her.
"You see.. I can not always be with you but this thing can." He pointed at the necklace after putting it on for her and continued, "Whenever you miss me just hold it and you will feel the strength." He said as he made her hold the necklace with her little cute hands. Then he looked at her and found a confused look in her eyes. He asked with a smile on his face, "Did you feel the strength?"
Thr little girl felt cold where she was touching and smiled back at him... nodding "Um! I like it!! It is like a light!! but, it's cold, but, I love it." She looked at the necklace and held it in the both hands facing it she said," Sister likes blue, I'll show it to her. " And smiled, she didn't forget her sister even after she faced such humiliation. She was smiling innocently as the face of certain person went black and blue remembering the cause of his little girls poor state.
He held her face with his both hands and made her look at him, "Xing_xing, don't ever show it to your family or others okay??" He asked her with concern written on his forehead.
The girls looked at him in confusion and asked, "Why? Sister will like it very much."
The boy felt helpless in front of her and sighed. Then continued, "Because, it's something very sensitive and will loose it's strength if anyone other than is two see it. So don't show it to anyone okay?" He said as he looked at her.
The girl completely believed him and feared that she would again get hurt if this thing lost its strength and nodded like a chicken head from within his hands.She stopped midway and looked at him with confusion again.."But, it's glowing like this, How can anyone not see it?"
The boy chuckled at her innocence and removed his hands from her face. He took the necklace yo his hand and turned it around, where a three digit scrolling lock appeared and there was a small recording button.
He told her hoe it operates and locked the half-heart shaped locket which then appeared as a silver locket instead of a diamond.
The was so surprised that she couldn't contain her surprise and opened her mouth wide open.
