War, an invention of humans especially by those who have power and those who seek it or at least that's how Ceres sees it.
And who is this Ceres you may ask!
Ceres is the youngest daughter of the Margrave of The Rhine, the largest province of the holy kingdom of Lucifer, Sir Richard Graham. Mr Graham is one of the most influential figures in the kingdom especially considering his close ties to the emperor but nothing could prevent his daughter's current situation as she face-off one of the strongest fighters from the northern part of the empire in a battlefield as she and her fellow comrades of the royal army defend the crown from a rebellion. Her raven black shoulder-length hair and eyes create a direct contrast with her white skin and her long bangs give her a cutesy vibe and friendly demeanour coupled with her deadly skills with the sword earned her the title of 'The Sword Princess '.
She is currently marshalling her troops through the plains in the western frontier of the battlefield, which are regarded as the easier of the two as the eastern side is covered with lush forests. Thou the only thought running through her mind was that of her beloved, the person she knows for as long as she can remember. Whenever his thought come to her mind her heart us filled with warmth to the brim, she knows that he is flawed but still she strives to be his strength, his special one as she can't imagine her future together with him.
This fort is essentially important for two reasons, firstly it's close proximity to the capital city and other is that it's a well inside it which is the only source of fresh water in the radius of few kilometres.
After some time they reach their planned destination but it was already dusk so Ceres ordered her second-in-charge to set up camp, in the royal army, they have got about two thousand foot soldiers, two hundred cavalries and four hundred mages and archers out of which she only has about a thousand-foot soldiers while according to reports there are five thousand soldiers in the fort, but most of them were untrained and unprepared.
In the dawn of the following day, a battle cry resounded and Ceres' first drive operation started, which last only a few hours before their commander panicked and they all surrendered.
While on the day the other half of the royal captured the main cities which were used for supplies by rebels and cut off their supply lines. Two days have already passed after the Ceres' fort siege the war is reaching its most critical point since rebellions were aiming for a sneak attack they didn't bring enough supplies with them, now they are low on food and other supplies and faced with two options either surrender or continue fighting without food. A letter was delivered to the rebels, which was addressed to their commander by the margrave of Sols province Jon Lockheed.
In the morning of the third day of conflict, Ceres' faction joined up with the rest of the royal army while the commander of the rebels issued a notice to all of her subordinates notifying them of their future action as per their lord's and her adoptive father's wish.
Ceres is currently in her tent in the royal army camp, she was given the status of vice-commander within their ranks along with her sister, she is currently penning a letter to her father, which is a sort of ritual for her. In the letter, she describes her experience and the current situation of the battle, since she was his youngest child, he was very attached to her and encourages this practice.
While she was writing her salutations she sensed a familiar someone standing at the entrance to her tent which turns to be none other than her elder sister Priscilla Graham, although she was her half-sister evident by the stark contrast between their appearance she had blue eyes and white shining hair if Ceres was 'Sword Princess' then Priscilla was 'Ice Goddess', they had a fairly good relationship.
"What's the matter?" asked Ceres with a slight traces of worry in her voice.
"Oh!.....didn't our fiancee told you already," Priscilla remarked with a mischievous smile on her face, "I thought he liked you better than me."
"Yes, he does" Ceres knowing her sister wouldn't jest in serious situation decided to go along with her game, "that's why I was surprised to see you play his messenger."
"So what's the matter?"Ceres asked her again as she stood up from her desk went over to her.
"Oh! I forgot your prince charming has called for an emergency meeting."
"Idiot, shouldn't we hurry then!"
Priscilla wanted to tease her little sister a bit more and she can't herself Ceres is having an adorable pout on her face but she knew if she delayed this matter any further both of them would be in trouble, although they are both his fiancées they would be punished since they are here as soldiers and not princesses.
Ceres quickly grabbed her letter and they moved toward the commander's tent, on the way Ceres passed her letter to one of her personal messengers and went inside the tent. The moment they set their foot inside the tent they were greeted with strong glares for twenty different sources as ten people both men and women having different ranks in the army were already present there.
"Haha, we arrived!" said Priscilla as both girls stiffed their backs for bracing themselves against scolding.
"Take your seats, we are in a hurry." said Prince Mars in an emotionless tone.
